Yeah the EBR 1954 got ultra nerfed. It's BR was bumped a ton, its movement on anything else except solid pavement was super nerfed (its very slow and sluggish now), HE filler in its shells was removed, shells don't fragment on it almost at all, its acceleration was super nerfed and what not. Oh yeah, and I think they even removed the zoom from its scope. I used to like that vehicle but after the several nerfs, I have been just thinking about asking for refund for it and every time I play it I still think I should just refund it. Its so sluggish that it can't even keep up with the tanks when everyone spawns in the beginning of the battle! Too bad I don't think Gaijin gives any refunds of premium vehicles.
In 9 years phly went from "This tank sure looks tanky! This is so cool guys!" To "yeah sounds like a m41 bulldog, engine is nearly at idle, call it 2000 rpm and based on the sound of his turret traverse id say hes at least 58.73° off from having a threatening shot. I got him for sure."
@@Mystic-Midnight get your feeling mate Warthunder skill come and go, it frustrating how I can obliterate enemy from 1 km with Hispano back in the day with stealth, now I miss enemy 600 m in front of me even with tracer T^T
@@Mystic-Midnight I have to agree with you in the sense that I feel I do much better in simulator battles but I attribute that to the fact people can't sit on a corner in third person and wait for that opportune moment to pop out and shoot you they have to take the risk and it seems a lot of people wont, helicopter spam aside Top tier sim is my favorite thing in this game at this point
@@FiveTwoSevenTHR Imagine a full team of them or the majority being a maus, with people respawning in a maus and all that. That would be a massacre! The tank on it's own isn't the problem, it's the mass of it that will cause issues; so they limit its availability.
@@FiveTwoSevenTHR well i guess you actually think when you play, use tactics etc. Sadly the majority of players don't really do that :) (Btw, my guess is money has got to do with it too, knowing Gaijin, but i don't really know how it would.)
@FiveTwoSevenTHR in numbers they are very VERY annoying. But fighting 1 is very easy in my somua because u can just take out the gunner but more than 1 is annoying
So happy to see French mid, high and top tiers getting more and more screen time. 6.0 to 7.7 is just so much fun and quite unique overall. Top is fun but still has gaps but I am sure, as more people play France, Gaijin will start putting more care and attention on the tree.
For the most part 7.3-7.7 is the best place for France and obviously needs no stabilizer. I mean sure France's 8.3 line is pretty strong, problem is that it gets outclassed by the majority of everything else due to one tiny thing, the lack of a stabilizer. The only way to play 8.3 france is to take things slow and snipe but that's usually not always the case on certain maps. The gun handling on the Amx 30s are pretty bad due to the point them having them bounce everywhere when you want to stop and shoot, making their reaction time much slower compared to tanks with stabilizers.
I'm working on the French tree right now. I feel like the french 7.3 & 7.7 lineup are some of the most fun tanks to play in the entire game. Especially the Somua at 7.3 and the AMX50 Surb with its 120mm gigundacannon
R3 T20 going from 3.3 to 5.0 is probably the one I remember being moved the most Ok the EBR got more from 4.7 to 6.7 (thx) and as Eric pointed out the Ki-109 still is more from 4.7 to 2.0 And Ik Phly really is almost just realitisc but A2D-1 went from 6.3 to 9.0 in arcade
@@tntkiller2001 he just never used it as spaa, only to hunt tanks, and tossed it away as a child would do to a toy once it was not that fun to play anymore, with no stabilizer and higher br. That’s how the majority of WT community usually do.
France is such a fun tech tree to play, albeit I wish they had some more SPAA to fill in the gap between 4.3 and 8.3 because having 40mm bofor guns against even late-war props is difficult to do. Solid lineups, funny coaxial 20mm autocannons in the turrets, great tech tree I wish people played more. It's a hidden gem of mayhem almost with how everyone plays US, USSR, Germany, and China at plenty of the BRs
US has the same AA issue and they had plenty of opportunities to give us good aa and they didnt. Took them years to get the ripple fire for the twin bofors and they didnt even get the timing right
The AMX-13 DCA 40 is unironically the best mid tier SPAA in game. A TON of ammo, great pen, fast firing, hard hitting, quick turning. Only thing it's missing is a roof
@@danielgates8056 I have every French SPAA, it’s just annoying to have a no auto cannon DCAs (20mm at the least) for a 5.0 or even a 7.3 lineup. Just working on Air to get the Mirage 2000C with my Jaguar because that’s fun to use in GRB
Not sure what it started at, but I know the M15 SPAA was 3.7 at a time and dropped to 1.7 for a 2.0 BR change. Its technically a contender. Might be fun to watch you uptier it to its old 3.7 rating and try to understand how it ever belonged there.

I tgink the most moved vehicule is the FL10 EBR as it was first sean at 3.7 (intended) and is now at 6.7 so it is a 3.0 RB higher than when added to the game
The LVT4/40 was AWESOME. it was 2.3 now it is 3.7. I got it aced and its the one tank i have the gold ace crew. I would love to see you do a video on it phly.
During that time the lorraine also has penetration of 299mm of pen at point blank range it was rediculous and they made the repair cost to like 15k if you died gaijin did not know how to balance this
Phly you should do a custom battle where both teams are filled to the max with people and every tank is equipped with artillery and everyone uses their artillery at the same time across the map I bet it would be like Armageddon 2nd attempt
Sometimes if u get shot in the turret with APHE in the lorraine, amx, and char 25t tanks the shell hits an overlap where it penetrates one layer and explodes on contact with the second, killing only one crew member

The french 7.3-7.7 lineup is easily the most unique lineup in the game. The play style is unlike any other tree and now with this new AMX in the battle pass we can make a little more sl while enjoying franc. 😏
Love the video Phly! France ground is my main tech tree, and I've loved (almost) every day of it. It would be super cool if you could play the AMX30 DCA at 8.3, as AA is just so good and it's super fun to kill tanks with as well
This is shockingly similar to what I remember of the Lorry in the other Game that shall not be Named. This tank is adorable and will shred you in a heartbeat, then fuck off into the sunset.
This thing a bit after the release when French autoloaders were bugged for a bit; no 1st stage enabled so the full ammo load was ready to go. It was the same patch where they buffed the fire rates as well
Loving these videos on the better days of war thunder. I have seen on war thunder live audio mods to get back the old music from before ground forces were added. Might be something you might be interested in.

I got a medallion thing (I forget what they're called) for this tank out of a crate shortly after it came out and used it to get all the way to the amx40. I miss the early days of this tank.
When the Swedish air tree was introduced it was extremely OP. I remember shooting down biplanes with the J-22B, I want to say it was a 2.3 in AB?? It was disgusting. Canvas wings don’t hold up well against the quad-13mm’s
@Aidan Riess Well, when someone says "what I can think of" ,it usually means that they can't think of anything els at that time. Now sure there might be a different vehicle that was moved a lot more but that's why I didn't say it as a fact!!
Hey Phly, the sim community of war thunder needs your help. For years Gaijin has neglected the game mode and right now its almost unplayable. To bring change we need the help of a larger part of the WT community. Nimbal has made a great video outlining whats necessary "Changes We Need to See in Order to Save Sim (War Thunder Sim)". If not to much to ask, could you please shine some more light on this fantastic but neglected game mode?
Oh my God, I hate that thing. The other day I fired soviet 100mm APDS from T 54 at it's ufp, the shell "normalized" and went 90° through the driver without producing any spalling or killing the driver. This thing looked at me and my commander, gunner and breech died instantly.
I remember when the lorraine was released, averaging 6+ kills a game in like the first 3 minutes of the game against oblivious tigers and panthers, I had a 90% wnr in it lol
Moved which direction? The Firecrest went from 4.3 on release to 2.7 now. The PV-2D was 2.3 at one point and got nerfed multiple times but is still now 4.3 with the same payload as a 6.0 bomber despite having the guns and agility of a P-47.
