Sometimes instead of a firewood splitter, a splitting maul is all you need. I talk about using a firewood splitter vs a splitting maul. When to decide if you should get a firewood splitter or just use a maul. Most of it is nonsense, but maybe there is a useful nugget in there. I said maybe, not probably. I didn't find any in there but maybe you will. The tough pieces I ripped with my Stihl MS 426 chainsaw.
