Some days you win and some days your don't. I think we will see these two take the best of each other over the coming years and they are both a joy to watch. Both very young and they will continue to get stronger and faster.
@@Bobby.D.1776 I doubt sales are up because there's not really that much money in track and field nor is there that much participation here in the US to expect a big payday. I also don't think any track and field person gets a 3 million dollar contract to start. If knighton only got $200,000 AFTER he proved himself, there's no way any of these that have not proven themselves on the professional level are getting in the millions. I don't care what article you read. No company is going to throw away money without an almost-certain guarantee they're going to get it back. Felix was in the sport for 20 years...approx...and is worth less than 10 million
@@micdeleon "'Abby *Steiner has signed a professional contract with Puma for $2 million, the biggest by an athlete coming out of the NCAA!"* ...It's official and no matter what u say or think is going to change that fact!!!
She did well, she raced nobody in 200m that was ranked higher then 23rd until her last race and she got blown out by Gabby. And in the 100m last, second to last and 3rd from last only because one person dropped out, idk what good is but seems like she had a mediocre year so far
@@HEAVYCHEVY409 I think she'll continue to get better... Right now she's performing exactly where people who understand track and field expected her to perform. She's not doing bad, and as she continues to get races in her, she will get better. She did have the second-best time last year and I don't see her completely falling off like a lot of people on other posts have predicted. I think she'll do just fine...
Even with Abby being off form she was able to beat two world-class greats here in Ta Lou and Dina Asher-Smith. Abby is a long way off from her 21.77. Congrats to Gabby who's been struggling herself so far in 2023. She looked much better in this race obviously.
Abby wasn't just off......she's been hurt where she can't fire off the starts and she cannot use her kick She will be going into surgery . She was told in April 2023 that she should go in for surgery and shouldn't run . Wait until next season for Abby
Abvey has not yet proved herself able to beat Gabbym Sharieka or Sha'Carri in the 200M. She will need to win over these three ladies, consistently, before she knows she's made it, otherwise, its too soon to be singing her praises.
She won't beat any top performer. Her arm swing sucks. People talk about her pass college meets. So what this is the pro's. She has beaten know bodies now.
Why,as if I don’t already know the answer, are people already going negative on Steiner. She isn’t taking anything from any of the other ladies. She’s running to the best of her abilities and if people are enamored with her because she’s White so be it. Millions of Blacks in America only watch track to see Black athletes participate and y’all know some will pop a blood vessel if a white woman beat Black sprinters.
At last, Abby and Gabby. Gabby finished in a time nearly half a second slower than her PB, and for some reason Abby is way slower than her PB of 21.77 - nearly Nearly two thirds of a second slower than her best. The season is just getting going, and Gabby is looking much closer to top fitness than Abby is at this point. Can't wait to see them both peaking, I love them both. Love Ta Lou and Dina Asher-Smith too. Bunch of speedy beauty queens, Sha 'carri Richardson, Sydney McPherson and Elaine Thompson too. The whole lot of them. What the hell is going on there, I wonder? Form follows function? Speed equals Beauty? It is a legit question. Someone had to say it. You cannot deny this phenomenon is happening. So here's my prediction; The seasons winners are always going to be beautiful, and the world record breaker will be freaking gorgeous. Now watch the woke pc types lose their minds over my comment
Still Undeniable is the Ghost of All that You Alluded to>The Reigning Speed, Form, Function and Beauty Queen World Record Holder, Who has been castigated, ignored, Imitated, But Never Surpassed or Duplicated>The One And Only Flo Jo. IOW>Your Descriptions and Prediction are on point; yet out of all those Women Sprinters mentioned, Who, can/Will check all the boxes and more, or will someone else emerge to fill Flo Jo's Legendary winged track shoes.
She is probably paranoid as hell right now to try to follow the same path that she took last year when she ran all those fast times during the month of June for the NCAA and USATF Championships. When the world championships came she couldn't even run under 22 seconds. Now that incident happened to her was the good lords fault. Now if she let it happen again to her then it's going to be her fault. Are you still wondering what's holding her back as a pro?
@@edwardjones717 then you clearly dont no anything about track, because gabby pb is over ten milisecond faster then abby, and she clearly just showed her top end speed is faster then abbys, she has anothee gear, abby doesnt, forget sherika, she will be retired soon, abby has to worry about gabby and shacari
@@raykay6009 Go watch that race where Gabby just beat Abby and looked at the strain on her face with 20 meters to go. And then she celebrated like she won a gold medal when she crossed the finish line. It was a big mental strain off her brain to beat Abby who just beat her a few weeks ago in the 100m. Abby is going to be her main competition for that 200m USATF Championship title. Abby is the defending champion in that event and she's not going away quietly. Abby knows better to clock real fast 200m times with the world championships two months away. She did that last year and couldn't run under 22 seconds anymore when the world's did come around. Now if you believe that Gabby's 22.05 is going to be the time that's going to win the 200m USATF Championships finals. Then you are highly mistaken. Gabby needed that win more than Abby did and it showed in her face.
Abby looked off. Especially when she was being introduced. Detached and not her usual smiling self. Distracted. Two great runners against a stacked field. I’m a Steiner fan but man does the USA have some ridiculous talent here.
WELL WELL WELL ANOTHER 2ND PLACE FOR THE GREAT ABBY NO NEED TO BOAST R I TOLD U SO I AM NOT GOING TO B A SORE WINNER BUT YALL SHOULD LARN THE SPORT BFORE ALL OF THE HYPE N TALK THAT YALL PUT OUT IT IS A GLORIOUS DAY N THE TRACK GAMES ONCE AGAIN ABBY HAS LOST IT IS NO SHOCK R SURPRISE BUT SHE DID WIN CAUSE SHE WAS THE 1ST LOSER
The top notch runners either skip college or turn pro after their 1st or 2nd year of college. College track records are very misleading . Steiner wasnt good enough to turn pro that early thats why i dont think she will ever be highly successful at the pro level. At her age most pros already have 4 or 5 years as a pro and this is her 1st year. Her career is gonna be short for track standards. Pryce had already won olympic gold by time she was 21. Steiner will be 24 this year and this is her 1st full year. She will probably be about done in 5 or 6 years. So if she doesnt make it to the olympics in 2024 she probably wont get another chance
@@deeplorable8988 You want to talk about her then talk about all of the professional track girls evenly. Shericka Jackson is the fastest 200m runner in the world and she just barely ran under 22 seconds a few days ago. She is a half second off her fastest time just like all of them are. Unless you have some other proof to back up your comment?
I've been saying since last year that we won't see Abby Steiner at the World Cup or at the Olympics, just as we won't see femke bol with a medal. These two are only pushed by the media but they are mediocre or normal athletes
que se passe-t-il avec abby c'est sa plus mauvaise performance depuis 1 ans sur 200 m ? elle n'a pas l'air heureuse à Paris alors que d'habitude elle sourie tout le temps ???
*Not really a collide, Abby was looking at the back of Gabby head for a easy 100ms* Now i have to give abby her props because she followed tracks golden rule, "ALWAYS RUN THROUGH THE LINE" and thats how she beat Ta Lou because she let up right before the line, and abby snuck pass her for second.
@@trerice8099 that guy went out of his way to bring race into it just so he could try to make people aware of whatever athlete he is referencing that's getting ready to start college. But they'll be the first people to swear up and down they aren't racist... LOL.
All you Steiner haters don't understand these runners don't run all out at every meet. The diamond league is an exhibition. They try to peak at the olympics and world championships.
