It looks like an SFM animation with how overexaggerated and cartoony the movement is. Not a bad thing, just unique for a game. I dig it honestly.

This game is so fluid! Hoyoverse have such an amazung dev team to have Genshin, Honkai, and now ZZZ have such unique animations.

Not just paid well: that's some really good talent right there. Speaking from experience, this is the sort of animation quality that takes many many years to develop and perfect: you can't just have anyone do this.

Getting nostalgia for Ratchet and Clank. It's been so long since I've seen truly expressive 3D animation in a game.

This is one of the few times a cat girl has genuinely been adorable to me, and it’s almost entirely because of this bubbly animation that I love. I also greatly enjoy the masked fellow’s reactions, as they fit the animation just like that cat girl does.

I know the animation is really nice. But does anyone else feel that in ANY game with cutscenes and animations. That the pacing of the animation feels a little weird? Like the part where the scissors get thrown at Nekomata was fine. Anby pulling her away was fine. But when Nekomata says "yeowsers, I thought that was going to take my nose off". Anby just instantly says "are those... scissors-- who's there?" like the camera feels like it jumps around sporatically and we don't really get to take in the stuff that just happened.

Holy, the use of those smearframes is so good.

This has such a indie youtube animation energy to it and I love every single detail about it, I can see they did research and actually know what most people want from 3d animations recently, full of energy and personality in every single frame while being smooth and expressive all at the same time, this specific scene shows quickly but well both sides, for Comic Relief characters/moments to deliver the message extremely well and a quick serious moment with very small subtle body language movements showing the personality of the character represented on how they behave. I'm so happy that 3D animations are going to this side and i'm here for it. Also.. Nekomata gang!

Now that I think about it, it feels like Mihoyo has one game for each side of their playerbase lol. Tears Of Themis for those who like males, Honkai 3rd for those who like females and now Zenless Zone Zero for furries💀

This is easily the best, smoothest, and most expressive animation of any Hoyoverse game. Very impressed with this. I would like to get into it when the full release begins but I am literally out of storage space on all my devices because of Genshin and HSR so... we'll see. Maybe I'll substitute HSR for ZZZ because that game is kind of struggling right now.

idk this game but given that they do this throughout this scene, they must have fairly extensive engine support for deforming skeletons. my understanding is that's usually hard? I mean check out 0:32, superb

I don't think people care but gotta say it eitherway Animation, either 3d or 2D is not as much about money (even tho they deserve a good payment) It's about time You can pay an animator 1 million per frame, if you give them 1 day to done full 24 minute animation, it'll be crappy A weekly anime episode usually takes 3 months to produce So just remember, animation is about time, not about how much they spend Edit because a few people aren't too smart: I'm talking of animators as individual people, not as employees Even if an individual animator is paid a lot, if the deadline is too close, it wouldn't be able to make a good animation Yes, payment is important for a company, but I'm talking of animators not companies Take "animator" as "person who animates something something in 2D or 3D for a living or for a hobby" Not as "employee of a company that is paid to animate"

This looks so much like the more technological aesthetic of early Honkai, and I absolutely love it.

GOOD LORD! Everything about these animations are amazing! The subtle stretchy-ness to it, the facial expressions moving so fluidly AND FAST, the way they interact and move... IN GENERAL. And it doesn't just stop with the cat girl, That red coat dude's exaggerated pointing and his entire body moving with his motions are just perfection, it actually makes me upset!!!

Regardless whether you like this video or not, ALL animators deserve great pay and the space to have a decent work/life balance. Just like any worker in any job. The worker’s mental health is much more important than getting high quality content you can stream or access. People who truly appreciate the storytelling and animation process respect that (especially in the anime industry nowadays).

Probably has the best visual expressions I've ever seen in a 3D Mihoyo game, putting aside the stunning character animations, the compositions are very well executed.
