You have to admit, a guy running from 3 or more cops while driving in a Chevy van is the epitome of optimism. 😂

Why couldn't the people working in the bank simply tell the cops it was all a total misunderstanding?? Or maybe the cops should have also spoken to the bank teller who helped Ryan 😅 So stupid!

Let me guess, some Karen saw a black guy handing a note to a teller and called the cops. If the teller is acting calm and the bank doesn't contact the cops to report a robbery....then IT'S NOT A ROBBERY.

No need to be a dick. Once someone has been Mirandized you'll almost never find a cop that tells them to be quiet. They are almost always allowed to say anything they want without any warning from cops to keep quiet.

I've had to draw/deposit large amounts of cash. Every bank that I've been in has a secure/private room to transfer large amounts of money. The bank would have notified him, if he asked about it. The cop suggesting for him to talk to the bank is how it's done.

If the police do not ask questions, then they have not violated his warning of his rights. The problem is two fold, accepting information without a detective present, will give the defense in court the opprotunity to challenge the awareness of rights, and secondly, if there are others involved or circumstances that are unknown at the time of arrest, then other charges or other persons may never be found out. Questions for purpose of identification are not protected by the "Miranda" rights. A man named Miranda sued for a not guilty verdict, and appealed it to the supreme court of the USA and won. That's where the name "Miranda" comes from...
@scotthill1600
@scotthill1600 11 месяцев назад
Accepting info without a detective present must be bullshit right? If they have given you your Miranda rights & you acknowledge & express you understand them. Then anything you say can & will be used against you in court right? If you say you understand your Miranda rights & are in custody, you say “oh a cartel drug deal is happening at 9pm at this address” the cops aren’t gonna ignore that, you willingly & legally told the cops that info, they are gonna surveil, arrest, or disrupt that deal, legally. Right? Or am I wrong?

I had heard of the Coogler story a few days after it happened. This was the first time I’d ever seen the actual video of the incident. The most cash I ever took out of the bank was $3,300. $3K of that was to buy a used car from a lot. I think I just ordered it from a teller, using my bank card. I think I actually sat down at a desk while they put the money in an envelope for me after counting it out. It was long before Covid was a thing, so I didn’t go into the bank with a mask…

The guy that got tazed and hit by a car on the freeway is going to be a huge settlement for his family. I made the mistake of watching the unedited bodycam footage and it made me physically ill and I'm an ER nurse who has seen some extremely unpleasant stuff. There's no way the city's attorneys are going to want a jury to watch it. Possibly the worst part of the entire thing is after the guy is literally run over (like a speed bump, as Dave said), the cop drags him to the side of the road, rolls him over to handcuff his hands behind his back, and then rolls him over to start CPR!! 😡(and before y'all yell at me for being mad he handcuffed the guy, I know it's their training, but if they can't make common sense decisions, what good are they? They're also trained not to taze someone who has a car barreling straight at them, but he ignored that training 🤷🏼‍♀️) The guy had a lengthy arrest record but it was all drugs, if I remember correctly, and he deserved to be arrested, but cops, if they aren't trained to do so should at least have the common sense to not tase somebody with a car coming straight at them.

I believe i recall that story about the guy pointing a gun at women an children and that woman getting the guy. Reminds me of another story where there was some kind of new expensive shoes that nust came out. This teen went to the mall to get a pair but not pay for them. He went to the store and fallowed someone to the parking lot that just got them. The teen pulled out a gun on the dude demanding the shoes. Dude was a license concealed carry and pulled out his and shot the teen.

Whenever I withdraw money, I always write a note with my account number and I ask that he or she not talk to loudly due to all the other people in the bank. I have never had a problem, and sometimes the bank tellers tell me I am smart for writing a note because some tellers do not like to talk out loud about money either.
