In arena sometimes it's not worth buying magic penetration items since you can gain all those stats in anvils and on top of that there's like 100 different items that are way better to spend gold on
Infernal conduit does magic damage. The problem is Leona having massive resist. U just gotta buy viodstaff to deal damage it's that simple. Also not only first game second game void was need too

I know what many will say "Bro even if it was 50% MR pen it wouldn't be good, that still leaves leona with 300 MR that's too much, now she "only" takes 92% damage instead of 96%! That's not worth it, that's only 4% more damage!" No it isn't, you're wrong. If she takes 96% damage, only 4% of your damage goes through. If she takes 92% damage, 8% of your damage goes through. That is essentially like you picked up an item that says "Deal double damage to tanks." How many of your items double your damage?
And I did the math test. Even if it was only 30% magic pen, reducing her 616 MR to 400 MR, she would go from taking 14% damage to taking 20% damage, a 6% damage increase, almost 50% more damage (closer to 40%). Which is neat, huh? Imagine if you could apply grievous wounds TWICE to leona, for 40% less healing TWICE. That's what it'd be like.
maybe it just counts the same sources. since leona stuns with several diffierent abilities, she can combined stunlock you longer before a combo break, than chain stunning with brand q as the same ability.
this is exactly why i really hope the devs remove voidstaff when this goes live...because so many new players are going to buy voidstaff by mistake. it's so completely troll when Perplexity exists and they hard lock each other.
@@josephbolton5893 i think like 23% or 25% or something, yeah. but more ap, move speed, lethality, and bonus damage on targets with more HP than you. basically LDR for mages. it does only give about 60% of the value on pen as void staff, but that's easy to make up with multiple ways to stack magic pen in arena. Sure you could get up to 70% or more mpen with void..but I feel like 40-50% with perplexity and all it's other more useful stats is not even a competition. your mileage may vary, but I've never had a game where I felt the need to sell perplexity for void out of hundreds of matches. edit: just played some arena and saw perplexity actually gives 30% pen, so it's even more valuable than I argued for. void is total trash by comparison
@@_FirstLast_ Well, not really, Giant Slayer is conditional. You can have more or equal HP in comparison to your target and still need the pen. Then the additional 10% pen from Void Staff will be more valuable than inactive Giant Slayer and 10 ap on Perplexity. They both fills their niche and allows for better adjusting to conditions. No reason to delete any.
ioki, I hate to break it to you, but every single time you’ve taken Infernal Conduit, you’ve talked about building items for the burn build that aren’t technically “Burn” items. In the item’s description, the word “Burn” will be orange tinted, so Liandry’s is the ONLY mage item that applies a burn; Malignance doesn’t count, as the field isn’t a “Burn”; Sunfire Cape doesn’t count, as the AoE damage isn’t a “Burn”; but Hellfire Hatchet (and thankfully the augment Firebrand, fun choice!) does apply a “Burn”.
it looked like firebrand and infernal conduit were overwriting eachother and not stacking properly, I watched just the debuffs on the last fight and infernal never went over 3 stacks despite spamming abilities. if the burns stacked properly they might've had a chance

I knew the comments would be flooded with people saying to buy void staff...and hot damn am I one of them. This man is fun to watch because he's playing arena and I can't really play it with my 170 ish ping. However his item choices in majority of his games is just insanity. Like Leona deserves the win. No penetration...no shield reduction. Like shs outplayed ioki by actually buying items to counter the champs she's playing against. The game would be entirely busted if she lost. Whereas ioki just...seems to buy what feels like at random? Dealing no damage and then buying an omnivamp item??? what? What are you going to be healing if you're not able to output damage? Super strange to me.
Hi, ioki! I'm a long-time watcher, only now a subscriber. I hope you read my comment. In the first game, you shouldn't have skipped Serpent's Fang as 3rd item, even if it's useless stats for Brand. The amount of shields it could have negated greatly exceeds the extra bit of damage Malignance or Riftmaker can grant. Essentially more damage on that item passive than in a rabadons even. Just watch the shields of the last fight against Leo Yuumi. Regardless, cool videos. Keep it up.

I found it weird that yku chose health shard over omnivamp. I feel like omnivamp would be nuts with all the dmg you're dishing out. Especially with your E and W.
Speaking of burn builds, I almost died laughing yesterday when I played Singed in Arena and rolled the absolute perfect 1 in a million items/augments. Wish youtube would let me post a screenshot :D Here's the game ID for anyone interested: 4472483389 I had these 4 augments: Slow Cooker (9,400 dmg) Vulnerability (41,000 dmg. Item & damage over time can crit) ADAPt (converts AD to AP) Warmup Routine (14,000 dmg) For items I had: Shadowflame (doesnt report dmg bonus) Rite of Ruin Liandry's (17,000 dmg) Infinity Edge (doesn't report dmg bonus) Perplexity (5,800 dmg. LDR for mages, last item purchased when boots sold) Runecarver (17,000 dmg. super statik shiv for mages) 71k Damage, 1st place (augments + item reported damage was 110,000+ damage ... not sure why it only shows 71k). It also says my Largest Critical Strike was 59, and i know that's a lie because i was regularly seeing 250+ crits on poison). I almost fell out of my chair laughing so hard.
There are silver Augment in Mobile that make your DOT damages can crit including all DOT from items, combine that with Infernal Conduit and you literally melt people with DOT champions such as Brand and Morgana.
Hey ioki, big fan. Why you didn't build death cap or void staff? I mean, i guess you lost so much damage man. Leona had like 5 mr items plus an anatema, you could've asked for heinz to get the anti heal, and had just build death cap and void instead.

I mean don't expect to win against leona when their only defences are shields and MR, you don't buy voidstaff and he doesn't buy Serpent's, you could have won that since serpents was fixed long ago and does actually reduce the shields by a lot, and voidstaff would pen her mr from 620 to 372
I'm actually curious if, for the very last round of game 1, Brand went some kind of atk spd build and woulda' been able to use that infinitely stacking burn to his advantage. Granted, as full AP you're likely to 'have more damage'; but due to those extreme circumstances, what if Brand just went full on 2.5x atk spd, full lifesteal, and just sat there auto'ing and burning the Leona. Infinitely stacking, and .5% HP ... within a few seconds it would be burning for 4.. 5.. 8% HP, and even though you'd have low AP, your spells could still be used to stun and burn at the same time. Would it work? ..most likely no, but I think I woulda' tried to do something insane and desperate on the last round vs that stupid fucking comp
Can anyone explain the trigger for combo break and the exact mechanism? I don't play the mode and have a hard time finding a pattern Edit: it's really toxic to get combo broken vs a tank/yummi that can't take damage, without the cc you cannot do anything vs her so it's a direct nerf Edit 2: srsly tho... Makes no sense to have diminishing returns on cc but not on healing/shielding. Combo break should take resistances and max health into account too... Leona doesn't need it LMAO
Heres the simple answer. Losing against this leona is still more fun than literally not getting to play, even if you are unkillable. Some augment/item combos would give you infinite brand Qs with actually 0 counterplay.

f the hole u need voidstaff bullshit in the comments here ofc voidstaf wopuld have been nice but like u had the answer to yuumi leona u had an INFINETLY stacking burn buy atk speed and hit them whislt heiz keeps them busy u had ages to stack that at somepoint they will simply tick with so much dmg they cant out shield it yes its not looking shiny and awesome for YT but it would have worked
Ahh yes, because his infinitely stacking burns on his no cooldown spells was doing so much work against the Leona when he had basically 0 magic pen lets just add in another infinitely stacking burn with 0 pen that will also do 0 damage.
@@josephbolton5893 the only infinetly stakcing burn he has was the augment for AUTOATACKS the rest doenst stack anyhting so yes if he had jsut autoatacked and bought atk speed that thing would have simply ticked them down we already reacreated that becasue i was curious if i was right and yes i maanged to go atk speed with that augment and killed leona yummi combo i wasnt brand tho to be fair but thats besides the point and i literly 20-25 sec ionto the fight amte them tick for over 25% of theri health so they clould not outlast my dmg so YES f the magic pen
