Hmmmm.... Driver not charged. Guess no dope was found. Sad thing is, so many cops use this excuse to perform an illegal search. Cops need to be held accountable for their actions and not be given qualified immunity.

There is a fine line but smells don't usually fall under probable cause due to the fact that it can come from anywhere and u can prove where a smell came from without searching so explain the legality of the stop

Only extremely recently have some states looked into revoking this. I personally agree that having something as subjective as smell is ridiculous for probable cause but the laws have backed this up for decades.

It must be so worrying having a parent in law enforcement in this day and age. Rest assured that in spite of the popular media narrative that everyone hates the police, there are many of us out here who support our officers and would absolutely stop and help if we could be of assistance

I was thinking that too. Then I was thinking, idk if the officer is older, has injuries (limitations), they carry a lot of gear that is weighing a TON, etc... IDK if he could hurdle a fence, climb a shed, and pull himself up to that window like the young man who helped did. Not everyone has those amazing physical abilities. A ladder may have been the cops only way to physically get to that window. I'm so happy that those other people were there to help get those children out of there. That was a group effort and I think that everyone was amazing. I'm a little confused bcuz the first child was taken out and then all of a sudden there was a baby too. Did the same guy go back in? They didn't show who saved the second baby. After the person handed the baby out, they moved the camera and then they just said the male is coming out now. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ That whole situation could have been BEYOND tragic. I hope the bystanders know just how wonderful they truly are. 🫶🏻🙏🏻🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

He said the male is coming out because he wanted them to know that no people were left inside What the man did was heroic, but very easily could have been deadly for him too The police are to protect & serve, but they aren't military whose job is to risk their life or lay it down for their country

@@Goldie789I looked up that first officer and he had been on the job for only 6 months. He didn’t offer his regulator to the civilian who broke the glass with bare hands and had that noxious black smoke pouring into his face when he climbed up (without a ladder) to save the children but the officer just yelled orders. I saw a different version of this video and he was told there were 2 children in that apartment maybe I missed it but I didn’t hear him pass on that info to the other officer leaving the seen to get the baby to the medics. I know the civilian was honored and I hope the officer watched this video and has used this experience to build on his skills and work. I hate to dog pile on him it’s a hard job and a thankless job but if you’re going to do it then you must serve and protect. Fight or flight is a real thing.

A century ago people were freaking out because "making alcohol legal again is only going ti cause trouble, people will start drinking when they shouldn't again, like at work or when driving". Now we're here arguing if we should legalize weed again for the same reasons, it feels dumb

The amount of people who have admitted to me that they're "former" alcoholics and have driven home drunk multiple times and just talk about it casually, is staggering. I haven't ever been on the road the same.
