I have the Superstar 360 version of this radio in excellent condition that I purchased from the original owner that hadn't used it in 20 years. Great transceiver and very nice looking radio. Although I'd rather it be black as the PR is. Thanks for the demo of this vintage piece of radio history.
I have one of these and it is a brilliant radio. Think of it as the same as the Cobra 148GTL-DX only newer and slightly better and you are pretty much there with it. They are relatively rare here in the UK but they do turn up for sale in France from time to time.
Didn't know it existed . No watergate option on this one too. President had a second chance to make it right with the new version . I doubt anyone at President has a clue . I wonder if they even have an antenna on the roof over there ? Thanks for posting well done as always ! 73
Great content as usual well done. I own a superstar 369fm and I know that these are great classic rig's to use. I look forward to seeing your next video when ever that is
Nice review, the radio is old school 120 channel SSB. Not sure about price, if under $200 usd, it might be worth it, shame it doesn’t have an external frequency counter jack. At least it’s not Chinese junk. I like that you used channel 39, heard some of my WR members 😊 3’s
I have recently got this radio from Ebay about couple weeks ago works fantastic it has nice 10m mods and I had a quick pep it has your call sign inside when you did the 10m mods GW0WVL very good soldering and neat work you've done on it.
I believe when cobra stopped making them President stepped in and bought what was left, and then the Richard appeared greatly in France,AB 010 board is bulletproof and also had murata filters
The radio I wished I would've never sold was the Galaxy 2100. Just wondering if there's any new in the box ones? For a while I was buying nib 35-40 year old cb radios off eBay.
that radio can be modified into a dual final radio like the export Galaxy radios. That is a nice older radio. Looks just like the older all black Galaxy Mirage radios from the 80s and early 90s.
It would be nice to have a radio with a variable transmit control on the front panel (of any radio). I could count my fingers on one hand that did that - I just don't remember what they were, except one of the Tram D201's. 🤔
Hello my friend, my favorite two radios was the realistic trc 490, and the laffette testat ssb 140, well I guess I can't leave out the galaxy saturn turbo. On sb it would swing a little more than 200, have you ever talked on one of these. Stickman and 006 southeast ms. And I am qrt .
It would be great if president would put ssb in the new Richard and Walker, not sure why they would make such a good looking radio and leave sideband out.
There's a modification where you swap out the stock 2.2uf capacitor for a 4.7uf capacitor and it doubles the length of the roger beep tone. I did that to my Galaxy DX99V back in the mid 90s and all my local CB neighbors didn't like it too much. I forget what number capacitor it is to swap out but I know it is located near the mic plug socket side at the front of the board.
