Kirkland didn't really sound cocky to me. He was respectful about the other guy's abilities but talked himself up which is kind of the point of those interviews. He wasn't calling the other guy a bum or saying he was going to knock him out right away or anything. Said he was thankful for the opportunity. Damn that was freaking brutal, wonder if his jaw survived intact.
Kirkland was an explosive fighter. Ann Wolf just couldn’t stop him from standing and banging. I think he was relatively punch drunk towards the end of his career. probably sparred too hard. happens a lot, these guys go 100% in sparring and end up getting in wars. Suffering concussions during training camp is not good practice. That why AJ got KO’d by Ruiz Jr. Word has it AJ suffered a concussion 2 weeks before the fight and why he whooped Ruiz proper the 2nd time around
Even though I'm english naseem was a Muppet barerra the only real boxer he ever fought. All that disrespect he gave was ott and Antonio taught him what's what.
"I'm a caged lion, I'm ready to go," Nah, you're a yapping dog behind its garden gate, chelping at passers by and being kicked aside the moment the gate is opened.
I have notice something that all refs share. They all put a lot of emphasis on making sure the boxer that gave the knock down have to get to the neutral corner asap instead of counting down the down boxer. Even while the guy is walking toward the neutral corner.
There is someone who is counting outside of the ring to keep the count accurate. Getting them to the farthest neutral corner is the job of the ref, and sometimes they may have to walk the fighter most of the way there to make sure they are where they are supposed to be.
@@WinorGoHomeTV some don’t know the difference between an opinion and a fact. Your opinion is he was confident. And mine is that he was cocky. Both opinions. Mayweather is not a good guy. Also my opinion, and I am confident in my opinion. I know what it means just fine.
@@aysada its not like u know him personally. But the sport has a huge problem with the best fighters saying they are the best. We all know hatton was not confident in this fight and floyd was. Thats why floyd prevailed where hatton didnt. I met floyd and just know, dont believe everything u hear. Takes pics writes autographs when not in a rush and his work ethic proves why he is allowed to say hes TBE. Hatton doesnt have that. Notice how after the fight hatton gained weight tremendously where as floyd is in top shape year round. U dont play boxing, u live it. U just dont like that hes undefeated, defeated the most world champions of all time, has the best hit to not get hit ratio of all time, and has the greatest defense of all time. Who he is outside the ring has nothing to do with his skill level. Stay on topic if u are going to diss. Notice i hit u with boxing FACTS not OPINIONS. U gotta leave your feelings at the door in this sport or u dont belong. Btw please find me a better boxer with this many accolades. Dont worry, i'll wait.
@@WinorGoHomeTV the facts you state are about his accomplishments, not about his cockiness, which is what I’m talking about. Any perception about him being humble that you have based on your experience is yours and therefore your opinion because you witnessed it, you felt it, and you rated it according to your system of beliefs. I’m not arguing one is more accomplished than the other because I don’t care about either of them enough. But that they are both cocky is clear to me and my opinion. Not just based on this. But based on all the other shit I’ve seen featuring and about Mayweather. A person can be greatly accomplished and also be a cocky prick. they’re not mutually exclusive. Only one off-topic was you. Because I stayed on cocky and you started talking accomplishments.
@@WinorGoHomeTV I answered your comment hours ago. I’m not sure why it’s not on there, but here’s the gist of what I said. I don’t care enough about either one of them to care about anything other than what I saw before me on the screen. You saw confident; I saw cocky. Neither one of them looked like the good guy. Because the good guy would be humble. Confident is fine, but it’s not humble and that’s what the good guy would be in my eyes. All I have to say on the matter everything else about Mayweather I couldn’t give less of a crap about. I take your word about those accomplishments. Great but not what I was talking about at all.
9:53 he punched him in the nerves that run behind both sides of your jaw. its like a pressure point. Your brain says “Ok thats enough, were shutting ALL of it down” 😂
Having Hatton in here as the cocky fighter is MASSIVELY DISINGENUOUS. Mayweather was his usual self throughout the whole ridiculously long press-tour that he insisted on, and then Hatton have it back to him on one of the tour dates, which happened to be in his hometown of Manchester, England. Mayweather was the cocky fighter in that one. He’s always the cocky fighter - that’s his style. He’s absolutely amazing at his craft, both the trash-talk and the actual boxing. Hatton was pretty much always the humble one, though he did like to have a laugh (making fun of himself a lot), and he knew he was a massive underdog in that fight. The ref made it deliberately difficult for him, by not letting him fight on the inside which was literally his style, which kind of ruined the fight, but Mayweather was always going to win. People also try this on Hatton for the Pacquiao fight because he was discussing his plan on tape with his coaches, “every time he does this, he turns his head this way, so bang! I’ll give him something to turn in to” or something like that, on for him to try the move in the fight and get knocked out harder than Amir Khan against Alvarez!! Like I say, he liked to join in and have a go, but he should be nowhere near this list and this video.
Trying to get in someone's head only works if you're a master at it...not many are Muhammad Ali. Show some respect and you might not look like a fool at the end.
I couldn't stand richard steel he was a garbage ref he wave off foghts where the person is still fighting but counts to 10 when the person is completely knoked out he's the angel hernandez of boxing if you know who that is
The Americans did Hatton bad, they knew he was an inside fighter and could trouble Mayweather, but as soon as he got close to him and not even holding they were immediately separated, therefore giving Hatton virtually zero chance of winning
