He can talk junk to him but he can't talk to him about his charges without their approval you are correct. But he could say "smart" things to the kid.

@@CocozenYes, but it was a deliberate gesture just blank the kid ( even with small talk ) as he's probably never been taught that when you're a kid you should know to speak only when spoken to in a situation like that. Any kid that has had any proper input to his wellbeing in life would be scared to steal a car....let alone get caught. That kid has had no parenting from anyone he looks up to or respects & we all need to have that

last one is bogus, you can ONLY be charged with giving a false name if you are already arrested. He can be charged with hindering an investigation e.t.c. , the false name is secondary , as in hinderance.

How do parents raise kids these days? The future does not look good. Raise your children right. No means no. Discipline is not a suggestion for parenting. These kids sound like they have never been told no or punished. Raise your children to be humble, polite and to respect the law. It will save their lives.
