Greetings from Germany! Nice, to see your father how he was before. My father was confused too before he died. He ask me (his daughter, where we met and how many children we have..). I'm glad you found this, what a wonderful memory of him. Your dad does still seem quite lucid and aware of his surroundings here, which gives some perspective for the later videos of him. His decline between this and the video you linked to in the description was very rapid, and in another video from September 2015 (the last one taken at his house, just before he entered the memory care facility) your dad no longer seemed to have awareness, it seemed almost like he was trapped in a kind of dream state. His decline seemed more rapid than it is for most alzheimers patients. I have heard that the earlier age a person gets Alzheimers, the faster the decline. Was your dad fairly young? He doesn't look very old. I've also heard that, ironically, the disease progresses faster in highly intelligent people (because there are more synapse connections, the disease spreads throughout the brain faster). This is so sad to see, but also educational. May your Dad rest in peace.
