How do you know when to pronounce the last few letters of a word in French? What's the key to speaking French like a real native? In this video, I explain how to properly speak French like a native by using Les Liasons. (Or, the bits connecting the two words to make it sounding French!)

The liaison is the key to French being musical and fluid. While English has the hard stops and seems like a tap dance, French flows like a waltz.

Italian is the real tap dance. Italians actually describe English as fluid. I wonder how they describe French?

I'm no expert so far, but I have no idea what you mean in comparison of language as such... A language is far to vast to compare a whole so easily

That’s an interesting perspective on the feeling of French compared to English. I feel the French has more hard stops actually. This lesson specifically shows the French emphasis on the consonant to break the vowel sounds. In English we use ‘a’ or ‘an’ depending on the first letter of the next sound. For me, the ‘n’ is a softer consonant pronunciation-wise than the ‘s, z or t’ which commonly makes the breaks in French. Maybe you are far ahead of me and I will eventually come to the point of feeling the flow in French. I hope so!

Yeah, it is a bit difficult. But "les liaisons" is also what makes french such a beautiful language. 🙂

thanks so much for the useful video! may i just ask since i’ve read this online, that after the inversion with penser, ie penses-tu que, that the subjunctive must follow. is this correct? since your sentence was “pense-t-il qu’il est parti?” and not soit?
