My problem is that this critique often isn't consistently applied. Bianca Del Rio effectively wore the same thing every week and it had no impact on her placements. Bosco and Plane Jane got right to the end before they were critiqued for wearing the same silhouette. Whereas other queens are called out immediately and land straight in the bottom.
They never critiqued trinity the tuck either on s9 when she consistently wore the exact same thing in a different colour. She always looked good, but it was always predictable. I’m glad she’s stepped up her drag though, her performance on AS7 was amaaaaazinggg
I think it is consistent, it just isn’t consistently shown. Bianca definitely got comments or she wouldn’t have put a joke in her roast specifically about being critiqued for her silhouttes. The judges say a lot more to each queen than the half a minute we see on the episode, most of it just won’t be relevant to the story of the episode or the season so it’s left on the cutting room floor.

I'm pissed when they critiqued Vanjie for the same xilohuete and Plastique was there too (she used the same xilohuete 7 times on 5 a five episodes lapse)

At the end of the day it's useful to remember that Michelle Carson and Ross do not do drag. Their critiques are going to be what the producers want them to say and what story lines and final placements they want for a season.
And even then i agreed with them every single time about it how are you basically wearing the same outfit every week on the runway especially when in reality it’s every few days not a week so every few days they see in the same thing but a different color
Honestly this is just annoying to me What the fuck are they supposed to do Shit out tons of fabric magically know how to sew if they didnt and make new garments? They already brought theese garments when they came how the fuck can they change it
There's extra fabric in the workroom and if not there are usually queens that bring extra fabric and sewing kits with them. And if you can't see, get crafty. That's a pretty basic skill the show expects from the queens.
@@aaronw7602 I hate when someone says they need to "get crafty". They're filming a TV show. They have to prepare for challenges, make sure they get enough sleep, and do the actual sewing challenges which are stressful enough on their own. When should they find the time to create an entire new outfit, especially when they don't know the runway prompts until the day of shooting the episode. Should they do it during their lunch break? Not everyone is Trinity the Tuck or Roxxxy and can create a new outfit in 20 minutes.
@@blu_ranger71 Right. I agree. We saw what happened with Mo Heart her first time around. But if you have an outfit or two that like you know will be read by the judges, wouldn't you want to at least to try to use your resources to try to either improve upon it or try to make something entirely different? I just think the possibility is there and the queens already know the show expects them to know how to put an outfit together.
I like how they’re saying these critiques as if they can just go and change their package. Sure there’s things there that they can use to maybe make a new runway, but to do so on the spot is kind of a lot
It’s true they can’t change what they’ve packed, but it would’ve been prudent to know that the judges won’t like it if they pack 6 corset-panties-thigh high boots outfits
The weird thing is that they're selective with that critique. Like they never said shit to Shea and she wore a leotard with a jacket pretty much every week

I think that critique is more or less of a justification for putting queens into the bottom. The most obvious example was on UK Season 4 where they tell Dakota that they’ve seen her wear the same gown before, when she was wearing a different silhouette for that week. But yet, Danny wears the same short dress they have worn the entire season, and they’re not gonna chastise Danny for that???
I mean it’s also if you did bad in the challenge and then you wearing the same thing Vangie basically brought the same type of look for the entire season idk how she didn’t notice
Am I the only one that actually didn’t mind a lot of Jocelyn’s looks? Some of the ones they hated I thought were perfectly fine or cute. The only one that was really ugly was the Quinceañera store look.
The best part about them calling out Bianca is that they're referring to the luau dress she made on her first episode, where Ru literally said "I love that dress. I would wear that dress." The Vivienne also commented during her Wheel of Fortune runway on AS7 that she could tell Ru wanted to wear the dress she'd made (which was also the same silhouette).
This is a completely valid critique imo (that should be applied more often) If I were to compete in the biggest drag show in the WORLD, I would damn make sure to add some variety to my runway package. And besides, there is a wall of fabrics right there that's completely available for them. Also many girls like Tyra, Violet or Roxxxy have sewn shit on the spot to keep their runways fresh and unique.
What do they expect them to do? Change their packages? It’s not like they can just make a new designer worthy outfit in the werkroom right after the critique. They bring these packages way before the critiques and they can’t really make it in the werkroom because then they’ll complain about it looking cheap
they need to understand that this critique is stupid bc they can only wear what they brought, and most of them aren’t seamstresses so idk what michelle wants them to do
