@neilbadger4262
@neilbadger4262 3 года назад
@@Infiltator2 Every time the FIA release their rule book for the upcoming season, engineers from every team will try and figure out how to push and even bend those rules to their advantage. It tends to be that when a team is able to introduce a new technology not covered by those rules, one of three reactions would occur. Either the new technology is admired, it is ignored, or people complain that it must be breaking the rules and thus a punishment should be handed down. I think in engineering, you can either be proactive or reactive. Proactive is to take the initiative and try and make your product better than everyone else's. Reactive is to simply wait until someone does a better job than you then complain about how life is not fair. The reality is that Mercedes has been doing a far better job in recent years and the only chance Red Bull has had has been to complain about everything. Do not get me wrong though. Max Verstappen was doing a brilliant job in Baku and I felt sad for the guy when his tire failed on the main straight so close to the end. With how dominant Hamilton has been in recent years, it takes someone truly special to be able to compete against Lewis on the track, however, that is where the racing should take place.... on the track, not the boardroom.
@GamerFlair
@GamerFlair 3 года назад
@@myk1137 Indeed. F1 is all about finding the grey area's. Honestly, this tends to be the difference between most the other teams and Red Bull in my eyes. Other teams look to innovate, find things that aren't in the regulations and make it happen. Red Bull seem to prefer finding things that are in the rules, strictly prohibited, and working out how they can pass the test for it anyways. When another teams finds something geninuely inventive, or they just do something totally legal better then anyone else, Red Bull are like "THATS NOT FAIR BAN IT!"

Merc ran a toe-in to heat up the tyres. Something they're struggling with this season.

I hate watching teams arguing with each other over innovations. If one team has superior aerodynamic rear wing innovations to another, then the opposing teams should be able to just copy those innovations; rather than complain to the FIA like losers.

Ferrari fan here. I was happy back in the Schumy days, but at the same time I was utterly disgusted by Jean Todt's shady political ways of bending regulamentations in favour of Ferrari and I welcomed the change in regulamentations and the subsequent destruction of Ferrari F1 team despite having the best engineers and the best driver. A good fight is always better than a boring win, whoever is the winner. Nowadays it actually seems to look at that Ferrari team over and over again, with the best driver the best engineers and the worst political ways of bending the regulamentations by getting out always with an advantage (pre-hybrid era test, tires test, etc). I don't know if the speculations about Mercedes purposely driving slower to not show how much superior they were since the beginning of the hybrid era are true or not (and Mercedes WAS and IS superior, no doubts about it), but well it wouldn't surprise me anymore. Kudos to the engineers, fuck you to politics. (just to say, I'm 100% sure Ferrari cheated with their engines in the past two years... just in case anyone would say "and what about")
