@@gabri-immortale I'd say modern warfare is more about information and technological superiority, with battle tactics still playing a big role. Just look at the Vietnam war, for example. The US bombed North Vietnam to the ground and sent over 600k soldiers to fight them, yet they didnt ever manage to even come close to defeating them. In this war in particular, tactics (being guerrilla warfare) and information massively benefitted the North Vietnamese. Of course, it could be argued that guerrilla warfare is and has always been hard to fight against, and the United States was fighting far from home. A more recent example, the Ukraine War, demonstrates the importance of information and technological superiority, with Ukraine facing off against a much bigger, much more powerful adversary and yet managing to hold, thanks to a much larger troop morale on the side of the Ukrainians and foreign arms and training (as well as access to western intelligence)

That is a issue that plagues grandest lan and it's mainly caused by seeding Because all players start in and around europe the ones killed by the early game struggle get usually reseeded in free game areas and most of the time have vengence agenda against the winners of the struggle, leading to the weakest parties in europe to be backed by asian powers in the late game wars

Most of self-respecting mp communities have a rule banning personal unions and forcing to break them

@@beaub152 the Americans didn't win their war of independence the French and Spanish did. And it cost both of them dearly, Spain would enter a death spiral it would never recover from and France would forever play second fiddle to GB. And all it cost was some easily replaced colonies? HELLO INDIA BABY! And it created a nation that believed in British ideals to the extreme that would come to Britain's aid in not one but two world wars? That's a good deal if you ask me.

@@beaub152 most of americas battles were not against GB proper, it was mostly naval battles and mercenaries at the time, as GB was still reeling with a proper land war with france in europe..... literally every historian agrees that without france and spain getting involved and if GB committed their army proper to putting down the americans, GB would handily win, GBs king at the time just didnt see the need to commit, viewing the americans as unwashed peasants who couldnt possibly know how to fight, despite GBs generals saying the king was being a big dum dum.... also, GB has several other colonies they had to keep in check + india so they were spread thin

Americans had to employ some unorthodox tactics that the British were unprepared for. Also, the guerilla warfare was considered dishonorable. The colonial army would only attempt to fight if victory was a distinct possibility. So many factors involved.

@@nicholasg3250 But there is a limit to the number of cultures you can accept right? I don't remember the number but it becomes a limiting factor after 5 or 6 I think. If you don't change the cultures that border your culture you don't get the bordering culture discount. And changing the ones that are far away can become unnecessarily expensive. Finally, changing the ones right next to your culture, expands your cultural borders, so it should allow you to change more cultures in the future and allow for greater economic and military growth.

@@ericsaxon5736 From what I've seen (I am certainly not one of the "best players" you speak of, just from watching people on RU-vid and Twitch) - Culture conversion by good players in a couple scenarios: 1.) Trying to change primary culture for a tag swap. 2.) If you need to state more land than is in your culture group by default, and doesn't fit into your accepted cultures limit. Two meaning that if you are not stating it you shouldn't culture convert, and if it is already in your culture group you should not culture convert, as when you achieve empire government rank all culture in your group are accepted without taking an accepted culture slot. In the case you mentioned, scottish is part of the same culture group as English, so you don't need to convert it as it is accepted/will be accepted by taking the empire government rank. If you watch Habibi's recent videos at least one of them he shows that he culture converted all of Central Africa to his primary culture before stating it (he needed more stated land because portugal starts with so little land to state,) because of the very reasons you mentioned.

@@NumberOneHouseLover Ah, so the culture groups, you don't convert unless you reach Empire? Wouldn't that mean that you Kingdom is hobbled until you become an Empire rank? Also, I thought I saw Scottish as still being yellow, so I don't think they reached Empire rank yet. But at least that makes sense, thank you.

Oh people on more experienced mp communities always do that :) I usually end up with 90%-100% lands ending up being own/accepted culture, including this particular video. In mp it's way easier than you might think. You usually expand mostly in your culture group so empire rank accepts it all and everything outside can be accepted/converted
