GxAce, I wanted to let you know that your influence played a significant role in sparking my passion for photography. My journey began in 2016 during my financially challenging college days. I managed to save enough to purchase a Canon 7DMKII, with an APSC sensor and a whopping 20.2 megapixels, with a usable ISO of 6400. Since then, my camera collection has grown and now my go-to camera today is the Sony A7RV, equipped with the 16-35 GM lens, version 1. I've purchased all your Lightroom presets and I love their distinctive look and feel. Your videos are a continual source of inspiration for me. Each new upload is an event in our household as my wife and I watch them together. I'm grateful for your work and the impact it has had on my photographic journey. -Ian

Your video is very creative. I almost bought the predecessor of this camera new in December of 2016. I was in LA at Samy’s and ended up buying a Leica S007. At the time, the Hassy was new and had serious software issues in that we couldn’t even get it to boot up. One thing I can attest to is the quality of HC glass with Leica making an S to H adaptor. Some of my favorite shots have been made with Hasselblad lenses. Since 2016, I’ve crossed paths with several versions of this camera, but I was never convinced that I should make the plunge as Leica always seemed to have the edge. As I watch your video, I am swayed somewhat by your images, but 100mp is a bit much in my opinion. Maybe I will make a change at some point; however, I’m getting a lot of mileage out of 24mp full-frame cameras including my Sigma fp and my Leica SL2-S. And if I want to get the best look, I’ll shoot my H2F or 7ii. I also have a 6x6 Ikonta from 1954 that is very capable. As for the X2D, I will say that the build quality and in-hand feel is stunning. If you can live with the res, it’s a beautiful camera.

Hasselblad now is nothing like they were even a few years ago after getting bought out by DJI. They don't even make parts for their old legendary H6 cameras anymore that many pro photographers are using so that's left a bad tase in a lot of people's mouths. It's almost like a reboot of the brand. I think this is a good first try but it's missing a lot of features in the EVF like focus peaking, variable focus magnification, and live overexposure warnings. All which could be fixed via firmware.
@ristotakala
@ristotakala 9 месяцев назад
I think they still service old lenses and H-cameras, at least I got my HC-80s broken af fixed two years ago. It was the old version of that lens too, without 1/2000 shutter speed. But yeah, it is a bummer if the parts just disappear from inventory.
@tor2919
@tor2919 8 месяцев назад
Hasselblad seems in much better shape now than for decades I’d say. It’s funny on the internet some people thinks ownership equals management. That’s not the case. Hasselblad was sold to external owners in the 1970’s. Hasselblads are designed and manufactured in Sweden same as always.
@NickDelDuca
@NickDelDuca 8 месяцев назад
@@ristotakala They aren't servicing the H6D-50C which is what a lot of pro fashion photographers use. It was released in 2016. And I've heard that's because they are out of parts. I think they will service things till they run out of parts but they aren't making any new ones. That really sucks though less than 10 years of support for a $20,000 camera. I've also heard though that after the DJI aquisition their support is almost unreachable and takes months to hear back after sending something in.
@NickDelDuca
@NickDelDuca 8 месяцев назад
@@tor2919 Their customer support changed when they got aquired by DJI. They barely even answer support requests anymore. A company that's doing well doesn't ignore it's customers especially when a lot of them paid 20k+ for their product.
@ristotakala
@ristotakala 8 месяцев назад
@@NickDelDuca Do you happen to know if they have parts for the 50C -back? That is what I'd like to upgrade in the future, currently using H5D-40. If they had difficult times at the manufacturing phase of H6D -bodies and that it did not sell that well, then that shortage would focus (pun intended) on H6D-bodies. On the other hand, I doubt that Hasselblad will announce their spare part situation publicly.
