Depends on what you chose at the start. DF went with brutality and kept taking it whenever he had the chance. This is actually the optimal method. The problem is that he keeps using items that don't scale with brutality.
Hey, DF I have 100 runs of the game with all runes and and a stable build, here are some tips: 1- To unlock the spider rune you have to have the ram rune (which you can unlock by going to the end of the Promenade Of The Condemned and not going on the elevator, but continuing right, then you activate the teleport and you will go to the Ossuary, then you will fight an Elite and you will get it), then go into the Toxic Sewers beat it go to the Ancient Sewers, beat the Conjunctivitis and find a rammable floor and that will lead you to the ancient sewers, fight the Elite and you will get it) 2- Go Survival its the easiest and most OP Also focus on one color from the beginning 3- Shields are important, and parrying is a life saver 4- Here is a Build with room patterns: Heavy Crossbow, Spiked Shield, Death Orb, Crusher There are all Survival and do extremly high damage even on low survival. 5- I prefer to go like this with rooms and bosses Promenade of the condemned Ramparts Black Bridge: The Concierge Stilt Village Clock Tower Clock Room: Time Keeper High Peak Castle Throne Room: Hand of the king
That build is kinda wack ngl. If you're running Heavy Crossbow, Rampart would be a better shield - the protection it gives you after a parry is way more useful for a safe blast from HC afterwards. Crusher is fine, but somewhat situational and Death Orb straight up sucks on bosses, a better alternative for it would be the Wolf Trap which would synergize with the Crusher better and still be useful for biome clear. The route you take could be better as well. This imo is the most optimal route: Prisoner's Quarters -> Promenade -> Prison Depths -> Ossuary -> Black Bridge -> Stilt Village -> Forgotten Sepulcher -> Clock Room -> Castle -> Throne Room It gives you more scrolls, more Curse Chests and more opportunities for shops and random gear to be found in biomes.
Ignore tip #5. It involves Stilt Village. Fuck Stilt Village. Stilt Village is garbage garbage land. Slumbering Sanctuary is far superior. Also, I go full Brutality and I hate shields, ngl. Pro strat is Electric Whip and Hayabusa Boots. With Cluster Grenade.
why max mutations when you can max out your weapons? ive played this game a bunch and have 3bsc, so i know what im talking about. plus, brutality gives better health per scroll compared to tactics, which instead gives more damage per scroll but the least damage. survival gives the most health, but the least damage per scroll. so _technically_ he did actually scale his weapons properly. (except for his crossbowmatic, but whatever.)
IF YOUR ITEMS ARE PURPLE, UPGRADE PURPLE. IF YOUR ITEMS ARE RED, UPGRADE RED. IF YOUR ITEMS ARE GREEN, UPGRADE GREEN. Aside from scrolls which only show 2 options that aren't your color always add damage for your weapons. Otherwise, add health with off-color scrolls.
@@gebs123 The thing is, your gear AND mutations most of the time should be of the same color. If you're running Brutality you should almost always go all red gear and red/colorless mutations. The same goes for blue and green. Some color based mutations are always useful and you can go for them regardless of your color, like Berserk or Necromancy, but other than that stick to one color.
*Day 38* Please Play "Nova Drift " "Risk of Rain 1 or 2" Lots of upgrading and weapon interactions. Im awaiting someone who waits with me. Talking to you Josiah
the easy rule to tell the relative power of items by rank is: + = 2 ranks. so a rank V item is 5 a V+ is 7 V++ is 9 and VS is 11. but keep in mind that ++ and S items also have a stat on them.
DFs misunderstanding of the stats is KILLING me. He had only tactics items all run and THEN he takes brutality. Please man, just stick with what you have the most of instead of going brutality every run
@@beardy736 at the start 3 of his 4 items were solid tactics. The start of the run is what shapes it from there on out, and having equal tactics and brutality for a solid chunk of it didn't do him any favors
DF , weapons with 2 colours will automatic choose the upgrade with higher level to scale it's damage , which means if u go for purple more , your whip will have purple upgrade damage scale while also upgrade your secondary . It kinda hurts to see your weapon choice is all purple but go for red upgrade
The items that show two colors will be effected by whichever color you have the highest. When you have a whip, and a bunch of purple items, you should go pure purple, because your whip can scale off of either red or purple, but not both.
I think what actually melted the clock tower boss was the cross bow with poison, he had like 6stacks of poison the entire fight. The saws definitely helped though.
DF! If you like those purple items it would be a good idea to get purple scrolls and mutations! You almost always end up going a full purple build, and you go full points into brutality, which does nothing for your build at all. Just a little tip.
Df actually learnt to match colours now, feels slight better watching him play DC now hahaha, now we have to wait for him to get rekt to learn that red is not optimal for his playstyle
The only reasonable way you can get 10 + items is going through the cavern go to the giant door use your head to get the unlock the door get the key go to the graveyard requires the spider room but you have to go through this world prisoners quarters toxic sewers ancient sewers insufferable crypt graveyard Cavan the Guardians Haven and then you have a choice between going to Hand of the King or high peak castle also the giant is insanely tough if you don't have a fast attacking weapon
In a normal game he can only get a 8 level weapon at best. It only scales based on biome, boss cell and where you found it(elite, chest, shop, etc). The highest a biome gets w/o DLC is 6, highest you get for modifier where you find it is +2.
to get through the dead ends to get to the prison depths you need the spider rune from the slumbering sanctuary to get there u need to go to through the toxic sewers > ancient sewers > insufferable crypt > slumbering sanctuary there is a boss in the insufferable crypt called the conjunctivitis i recommend turrets against the boss
Watching DF play a game I'm familiar with is both hilarious and weirdly frustrating. All his favorite weapons and items are Tactics. It best suits his playstyle as well. Pick Purple DF. It's the best fit for your playstyle. He always chooses Brutality despite the damage increase being exactly the same for whatever color item they represent. Though, to be fair, he does actually choose Brutality mutations. So he does have that going for him. Damage and levels are far less important than the attributes on a weapon. The DPS difference between a lvl III and lvl VII weapon isn't really enough to matter much if you factor in the bonuses scrolls add. It can actually hurt you to take a weapon of the same type at a higher level if the attributes don't fit your build even if the DPS is higher. Also, cursed chests frequently drop colorless weapons. They work similar to legendaries in that they use whatever your highest color rating is, but have fewer attributes than legendaries of the same level. If you're doing Brutality, go with throwing knives. They lock onto nearby enemies like electric whip and always do bleeding damage. Reroll to get a piercing attribute, especially pierce all.
If you unlock the starting bow, you can unlock starting sets and choose between sets of items to start with. Also custom mode let's you weed out the bad items, but still let's you progress through the game
It's incredibly funny to see you screw over your own build time after time. Dangerously funny maybe? ;) One hint if you read this though: The Whatever 10-L item you are desperatly searching for doesn't spawn unless you play the harder difficulties.
With perks on the weapon you should focus on ones that gives you bonus damage if they are in bleed. Due to you being hit nearly right away that 50% damage bonus at full health went away. A 150% to 175% bonus damage on bleeding monsters would have been on at all times.
Hey DF, did you know you can break the door just past the Collector to avoid having to spend all your cells? That way you can save your cells and upgrade the forge a lot faster, which is really important for beating hard mode.
Hey DF, to get into Prison Depth u need to get Spider Rune, which located in Slumbering Sanctuary. U can get there via Toxic Sewers, Ancient Sewers and alternative first boss :)
When the lightning goes yellow it does critical hits. Also if all your itemes scale with tactics(blue) then you should max tactics instead of brutality, because you have 1 item that has brutality.
1. this game has mods 2. the morass of the banished has the easiest boss (in my opinion) that drops a two handed scythe 3.go to the toxic sewers then ancient sewers then the weird techy place i cant remember the name of, it gets you a wall jump 4. the moment you are able farm magic missiles, they seem to fit your play style well
the scythe is an expert weapon and only works with a survival run. i dotn reccomend it. the concierge is the easiest boss... if you can parry, parrying the concierge makes him a chump.
God i suffered so hard while watching this. If he is doing this in 1 cell mode, he will already fail. And there are 4 more cells to go! The dps of the HotK will increase by a lot for every cell. SO start using the goddamn dodge roll. YOU WILL NOT SURVIVE IF YOU DONT DO IT!
I’ve had this game for a while but sucked at it but watching your videos and picking up on how you play helped me finally get my first boss cell. Keep up the good work making these amazing vids
It literally scales 1:1 with both red/purple upgrades. You start to see it slide, aka one side showing more based on where your upgrades are in the run. So his upgrades were affecting him that's why he did so much damage.
@@Zeratultheking no, when using dual color weapons the damage bonus is taken from your highest color, When using Red/purple weapon and having 5/3/1 stats doesn't give (5+3) damage bonus to the weapon, only 5
