Megan doesn’t really stand out in a lineup of white women.. I’m all for the symbolism but c’mon. Colorism is real, you can’t say she has the same lived experience as an unambiguous black lady. If you can discriminate at a distance it’s different just saying
Have you seen her natural hair? All That black went to hair baby. Google her kid pictures. If she wore it natural, you could tell more. And compare to Harry you can see her color and features more black. She don’t look like Kate. Many black people think mixed people look white but white people will say black.

I wouldn't say she prefers her white side, but i can see how it looks like she didn't prefer her black side. But in her defense, women subconsciously date men like their fathers (sometimes). Hence her preference for white men. Also in her defense, she may have said auditions were hard. She wasn't black enough for 'urban' roles nor white enough for 'white' roles. But i never exactly saw her in essence, ebony or jet magazine. She was never at naacp or stellar gospel awards or source/vibe awards either. So she didn't attempt to audition for 'urban ' roles either. She is a 'contemporary' of paula patton, lauren london, zoe kravitz, chaley rose, nicole lyn, lisaraye, etc. There were roles for 'light skinned black women,' she just didnt want them.

Her mother is full black and her father is white. You would be surprised how different us mixed racial people can look. Stop denying her truth, so no idea where you "looked it up" that she was 1% that is an outright lie. Give the source, right does not exist. We get enough bigotry without you denying her real identity because it suits whatever agenda you have. Plus her hair is chemically pressed, go look at the pictures of her as a child. Tell me any white child with hair like that naturally. I am darker than she is and even my hair is more "white looking" than her's was as a child.
Okay then. the way race works in America (and in England too, given the reaction Megan has gotten through the last few years) , anyone known to have ANY African ancestry at all, whether it's a parent or a grandparent or a great grandparent ,etc. African heritage, is considered... "black enough" if not full black.... THAT'S THE BOTTOM LINE AND EVERYBODY ON THIS THREAD KNOWS IT. The fact that people are on this comment section haven given so many opinions about it means a lot of us are still caught up in " Western racial theory" as well. As a public figure in a very conservative media sphere, Meghan Markle will simply be considered as African-American, no matter how she feels about it herself. She identifies herself is biracial. That's not necessarily a slam on her mother or otherwise. And she grew up in Compton LA ( it's Compton or Brentwood right?)so I think she already knows the deal. @@visionaerie What are you on about? If you are mixed race you are mixed race. As Rest in peace Kobe states, her mum is halfcast and her dad is black. Facts and science shows she has way way way more of the white gene than black and that is a fact! Consider Meghan as African American if you like which is totally incorrect when in fact she is British with a very minor percentage of African in her.
