Originally it was IDE (Ides of March, Total War competitive clan) Anleitung, but since people didn't know where the tag ended and since it had a capital A, they mistook it as IDEA - hence the memey transformation into IKEA. :D

🤔 I think it is because of Radar, Radar allows you to get rid of the vision on the enemy team ( DDs) and also other nations like German, Japanese and french cruiser play the long range HE spam type of playstyle, which is good for randoms but not for tournaments, you need more active role in tournaments and utility which long range spammers surely lack. It's impossible to balance ships based on both random and competetive playstyles.

Hmmm,hadn’t watched the EU tournament but on RU it was pretty common to see Goliaths,Minotaurs and Venezias. It’s more due to the fact that every nation has its role in the battle and some roles are just not required in competitive games.

Hmmm? it is almost like other nations cruisers were not as good irl, who would have thought, i mean after all, how could the brits and germans, who were fighting on land and very rarely on sea, possibly not have invested more into ships instead of land vehicles.

Q Maximus who do you have to be to seriously assume that an arcade game where specifications and abilities of vehicles may vary from patch to patch might be considered as an actual representation of the real cruisers in a virtual environment?

Most of the time if you bump into high level comp players in random, they are very unsporting. I came across a triple WGP2W/L div once, and killed 2 of them. I was proud as punch because it was a smart play, and I was on form. After saying GG in chat towards the end of the game they spent the remainder of it harassing me and my stats in chat. I've had similar encounters with BanCv players. I remember one of which was in a Marceau, and myself am Elbing. Somehow, I was able to beat him in a gunfight, and he spent the rest of the game slandering me and my playstyle in chat, and how I'm a retard for attempting to Knifefight a Marceau in an Elbing (despite him pushing me aggressively, making it impossible to disengage). I've come across Snackman a couple times, but like most superunicums, they seldom use the chat.

Yea, no. Tournaments almost never allow CVs for the same reason CVs aren't allowed in ranked: Plane spotting is way too simple and prolific. Its pretty bad when even War Gaming knows how ridiculous CV spotting is and that's why they're not allowed in tournaments or ranked, but they wont do anything to address the issue of danger free spotting via planes.

It would be great it radars didn´t went through islands like thin air and suddenly the game would rapidly change. CVs make half the DD´s work obsolete and remove all strategical aspects of "trying to suprise and outmaneuvre enemies"; cause everyone suddenly know every ships position an direction. And yes, CVs are good at killing camping ships; problem of CVs is ability to create a crossfire anywhere on the map, so everyone would just take FDR due to plane hp and torp everything out
