Came back to say a huge “thank you” for talking about Steve’s book, Empire of the Son. I did a RU-vid search and found I can listen to the whole book on RU-vid. Started listening and super excited to go through the whole book.
Steve Gregg's book, "Revelation 4 views" is essential Christian reading imo. It's a game changer. It's a 'must have' for anyone interested in end times prophecy. As the man said, it goes verse by verse thru Revelation, explaining the four major shools of thought on each passage in column form. It's organized very well, and is quite thorough. I couldn't recommend it more.
Found Steve about two months ago and absorbed his Eschatology teachings.. I find them fascinating and I have changed much of what I thought I knew. But as a reward, I find a much deepening learning in a lot of teachings in other areas on being a real disciple of Christ and have put into practice much and God has enriched me much by doing so, drawing closer to Him through His word. I feel like it’s dangerous looking for “signs of the times” in current events. In the Bible God does everything for the whole world to see. You never see him working in conspiracy.
I understand generations, thinking that we were in the end time and we were not. It will happen one day, and I think the sooner the better because this world is so evil, I see it getting worse and worse and worse, because I have the eyes to see in the ears to hear from the Holy Spirit. If you keep Matthew 24 in mind - that no one can know the day or the hour - it explains the mystery of the book of Revelation. The prophecies won't make sense until the time when they suddenly make sense. It's much like symbols on a map that lay out a path of travel you haven't seen yet. When you pull into town, you say, "There it is!"

My issue is at what point do we discard real with not literal. Is Jesus coming back literal? Is the new Heaven and New Earth literal or figurative? Is the Earth burning up literal? Is the new kingdom that comes down from heaven literal? Some things seem to be very literal. Do we only take it figurative until we get to Revelation 21 or 22?
The last days may have started when Jesus ascended in the skies before the apostles and the angels...'He shall descend in like manner' Acts. Much of the end days events have not happened yet..they will happen in order- who knows how much time in between say- the son of perdition being revealed and then the real Messiah Jesus Christ coming down with a shout...is likely a matter of months difference- as God has cut the time of Satans reign short for the sake of His election....Satan has not been revealed yet, as Paul taught to be ready none the less.
Brother, I’m so sorry. I tried to reply to this earlier, but for some reason it seems not to have taken. Anyway, I think the answer to your question lies in Matthew 24:34. Jesus comments about the current generation for which he was a contemporary would not pass away before these things came to pass, and I think we saw their fulfillment with the destruction of the temple and the great persecution that happened by A.D. 70. It’s amazing when you study Jewish history to see the parallels between Jesus all of that discourse and what actually took place. That is not to say that there isn’t more to come. There certainly is. Culminating in the great day of the Lord, in Jesus second coming. But I think that’s the reason why Jesus was giving his contemporaries a sense of what is going to happen Immediately within their lifetime. I hope this helps. I read Matt 24 as in the second coming. I don't believe the tribulation is God's wrath I believe his wrath comes after the tribulation. And we are taken after the tribulation. Jesus said that after the tribulation the sun and the moon will be darkened and then he will have the angels take us.
I BELIEVE all the things spoken by JEsus in Matt.24,mark 13 and Luke 21 came to pass in 70 A.D.Luke 21vs 9 says take heed that ye be not decieved...and the time draweth near read it again the time draweth near.Lukes comment on the abomination of desolation is clearest in 21 vs 20.When they saw Jerusalem compassed by armies which was Titus and the Roman armies they(Christian jews) were to flee Jerusalem which they did and not one Christian was killed. If the great tribulation has not happened then the Jews must fall by the sword and be led away captive into all nations in the future however the great tribulation is past. Don't get me wrong we will always have tribulationbut not what Jesus was speaking of.Also the great tribulation would be upon one group of people and one landLuke 21vs23.the wrath of God came upon the Jews in Judaea for one reason. For murdering the most precious son of God..I've been long but have many things to say but for later.God bless

Steve may be an "expert" in other things but definitely NOT in eschatology! His personal views are NOT biblically correct because he is blinded by his "theological" arrogance and pride! Of course there is NO way of him finding the TRUTH even for himself because in order to find the TRUTH, we ALL must come in to GOD and HIS WORD with a humble and a meek attitude!... He may seem to be a nice man but I would NOT trust his Biblical knowledge, especially on Eschatology! ... "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And LEAN NOT ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING; In ALL your ways ACKNOWLEDGE HIM, And HE SHALL DIRECT YOUR PATHS.
