This is from a travel to Gran Canary in 1988. Then It was allowed to smoke in the back of the plane. Notice the little baby in the back.

As a non-smoker, I don't think I could fly an airplane where other people smoke.

Now days that is history. But you could sit in the front of the airplane. Pretty good ventilation.
