? He said 220. Bc he was a 205er at the time. He wouldn’t have been 260 back then . And currently there’s over a dozen heavyweights at 260 or up lol so hardly the only one… more than half the top 10 have fought over 260
Yes, extremly too nice like Flyd Mayweather is a lady 😁😁😁😁😁 In reality the GOAT would kill Mayweather in the octagon if referee wouldn't stop it on time
@@337Brian rogan said something like that, mma stops once theres a knockout etc but in boxing you get a 10 count where you could then go again and potentially damage your brain further if you get hit more so theres more risk in boxing
Sooo what about Holly Holm who was a female professional boxer and switched to MMA and became UFC Champion? What about Ray Mercer, former boxing champion that fought Tim Sylvia former 5x Ufc heavyweight champion in an MMA fight and knocked him out in 9 seconds? "But buttt 90 year old, 100 pound overweight, slurred speech, braindead James Toney got chocked out by Randy couture"
No he won’t. Floyd would KO that steroid taking juice abuser. Bare knuckles Floyd drops him. Never compare a steroid taking racist to the great Floyd Mayweather 🇺🇸 Floyd has always been a better athlete and has represented America better ✊🏻 Floyd’s never let me down every time I made a bet on him too
No, it's just a very stupid question to suggest a fight with that kind of weight class difference. 50lbs difference is tough to overcome but doable between a 250lber and 300lber but a 150lb guy fighting a professional at 220lbs+ is straight up criminally wrong...
No you got him twisted, he’s smiling because he’s done it and realizes the dangers of it but he’s prospered in the sport. he’s thinking of all the things that could have went wrong but he avoided all of them
As a female I can confidently say I would remove may-weather out of the octagon on a stretcher. John Jones wouldn’t leave him with a face recognisable to fans. Wake up and stop watching boxing. It isn’t fighting it’s half fighting with less pain, more rules and another man to stop it when your about to get what you had coming. MMA refs stop a right because it needs to stop. (Safety) not rules for other reasons often like boxing.
@Skye-Violet-Snow I agree up to the part about pain. I'd argue there's less pain in mma because when you get on the ground your done, where as in boxing you have to get back up and keep fighting. I'd say boxing is more of a sport then again that doesn't mean they can't fight or that an average MMA enjoyer can just smoke a professional boxer in a fight
Hes not elated hes laughing at how ridiculous a question that is. Floyd couldn't beat a 220lb boxer let alone an Mma fighter. I dont think Jon would even stoop that low to fight a little guy
boxers stand in their stance because theyre in the boxing ring fighting another boxer, many boxers arent only boxers, some are very good wrestlers and kickboxers
I prefer boxing over mma but it’s just fact a boxer jumping into the cage has almost no chance of winning other than a punchers chance.. it’s obvious but a boxer with a background in amateur wrestling can be dangerous in a cage
Nah he would still need to learn jujitsu and muay thai at least, for clinch, elbow, knee, kick, ground. And he would need to loose his bad habits in movements and guard. A boxer needs to learn mma to do mma in conclusion xD cause the entire sport is too different, mma is such a hard sport, peoples under estimate it.
Still striking in 4 ounce gloves and threat of takedown kicks etc makes it a lot different. But in a division such as. The hw divison ir lhw division due to how unstacked they’ve been recently and how hard the punchers are I could see a boxer making it there. But they have no chance at bantam weight or lightweight. Too many wrestlers/grapplers and too much skill
To this day, the most violent UFC fighter I ever watched..his ability to cut opponents open with ease is incredible..loved how he would put his palms straight out in front of him and also in front of the opponents face and then follow with brutal sharp elbows lol
@@CorbinB-Rax not in a boxing match of course Floyd is literally my second best boxer of all time after Sugar Ray Robinson.. But yeah John Jones would kill Floyd in a cage
When Jon Jones says "I hurt Floyd Mayweather." you don't have to hear that in the sense of a person hurting another person in a fight, you have to hear that in the sense of a sadistic psychopath enjoying to torture a victim.
"Sadistic psychopath " he's a modern day gladiator....you think people who choose to go to war as their profession are the same as yourself? Lol they aren't so don't assume you know anything about his mindset or what it takes to do what he does.
@@TheMrRobertjudging by his record (hit and run with a pregnant woman) you know this guy has no real remorse or guilt for hurting people. He's a genuine psychopath, he hides his true intention on the surface, but he's a deeply troubled individual. Hell of a fighter but Jon Jones is pretty evil.
Johns “$hit” talking is him purely being honest and respectful. Always gives me the chill. The way he can place people below without even trying to do is next level.
He’s right but he doesn’t mention the fact it’s just as dangerous for a mma fighter to go against a boxer. Punching only? They’ll get their head boxed off
@@abrahamGzzv Sarah Conner. She didn’t care about the consequences of her uppercut because she knows we’re all dead anyway! You, me, we’re ALL Fucking DEAD!!!!
@@abrahamGzzv Sarah Conner. She didn’t care about the consequences of throwing the uppercut because she knows we’re all dead anyway! You, me, we’re ALL FUCKING DEAD!!!!
@@LouCain717 Jon is in conversation for sure as one of the greatest. UFC literally wrote DJ off cause he was unstoppable. We will never know🤣😎 but it's fun to think about 🤣🤣
Wrong. In the streets an MMA fighter beats the boxer and his delusional (like yourself) buddies. Street fight= octagon Boxing ring= rule limited choreograpgy😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@Imani626 dude would defend Jones if he was molesting the dog instead of Izzy. You know good and well you get into a fight yall square up and buddy kicks yo legs straight back you'd be telling everybody he cheap shot you. Jones do it and "it's cool bc it's legal" homie it's only legal bc the ppl making the rules have never stepped in a cage.
It's also dangerous for mma people to fight Boxers in a Boxing match. More people have died do to Boxing. In mma you just simply tap out or the ref stop's the fight before more damage is caused. Boxing is no joke and its a vital part of fighting. Dont get it twisted!
A World Champion boxer will always command more respect that a "World Champion" MMA fighter because an MMA fighter is simply a jack of all Martial Arts and a Master of none.
I would love to see you NOT give John Jones respect for being a master at his craft that would almost be as funny as watching Floyd do the same thing 😂😂
Jon Jones is famous for fighting his opponents at their game. Eg out wrestling Olympian DC, or out striking Karate expert Machida, or out striking multiple elite kick boxers or boxers 😂 he is a master of many. He is a special human, with Khabib or Islam or GSP they were master grapplers, so good nobody could do anything about it. Anderson Silva was one of the best strikers of any kind to exist. Stipe is a golden gloves boxer. Pereira is world champion kickboxer. As is Izzy. Cejudo Olympian. Such a shit take tbh. In fact Khabibs title is literally a master of combat sambo😅 a 2 time world champion.
@@Dankness-e6iKkkkkkkkkk you're cute.... The whole UFC is just a glorified circus and Jon Jones together with all those people you've mentioned are not much better than competitors in an underground fighting Convention. It's literally no holds barred fighting. There is nothing proffessional going on there. It's just an alternative to the WWE.
The issue with this argument is we witnessed boxers in the long run have better success in MMA. We've never witnessed a MMA fighter in the long run ever truly catch up to truly elite boxers.
@alexaldaraca7839 and whats the point of this lil fact exactly? 😂 cause I don't see any relation between your comment and what Jon is saying. I'm a fan of boxing first before mma but don't be dumb bro lmao
As dangerous as mma is, boxing is ruthless man they get knocked down and then have to keep fighting with all that dizziness and even a concussion and keep getting hit to the head
Not a single significant boxer has ever taken a crossover fight in the octagon. I wonder why? Because, they are smart enough to realize they would get destroyed. If you have not felt BJJ you are clueless. Drowning above water.
If only Jon kept clear of his controversies. He had everything: the skill, the flash, the poise, the numbers - everything. Not only would his GOAT case be out of question, he would probably be one of the richest athletes in the world by now.
Boxing is more dangerous and always has been. There are studies done on it compared to mma do some reading. More boxers die ten fold every year compared to mma fighters
You see how ngannou got embarrassed by Joshua? That would happen to jon jones if he boxes a professional boxer. His only advantage would be to grab the boxer if he can without eating a hard shot. Boxers have more stamina. The longer the fight advantage boxer. The mma guy has no choice but to grapple cause standing up is still advantage boxer. Boxer are the most skilled fighters. Dudes train 2-5 years to be in mma. To be a professional boxer takes many more years of training.
I don’t really know what you’re smoking but you know if you want to be the most skilled fighter in MMA you gotta learn A LOT. At the MINIMUM it would take 7 years to learn a decent bit. Also in MMA there is always new takedowns, submissions, striking, and more being discovered. So basically you are always learning until you retire.
No mma fighters are more skillful fighters because they’re learning more arts and aren’t limited to one art, also mma is the closest thing to a real fight soooo..
What a clever way to say the same thing everyone has been saying! Everyone other than a handful of boxers of course say 99/100 the mma guy wins the fight against a boxer, but to say “it would be safer for the mma guys to try boxing” is the most gentlemanly backhanded perspective I’ve heard yet. Well done goat
MMA is way harder to be a world champion in than boxing considering all the aspects you have to be good at like striking, grappling, wrestling, submissions, clinching, etc.
The difference is in boxing you’re asking the mma fighter to not use all his weapons, if you flip the script the boxer enters the octagon with one weapon 💀
At the end of the day, when you strip everything away from them, the MMA fighter kills the boxer. Boxing has been around as a proffesional sport for way longer, MMA will get there in terms of making money.
@@ANONYMOUS-yk2qf you’re talking about the best defensive boxing of all time, if you know anything, you’d know that’s Floyd best attribute is parrying and counter punching. He’d dodge that kick every day of the week and twice on Sundays.
@@alfie3261 I started out as a boxer back on 2016 the thing about kick is that you need 2 arms to defend it plus some people are really good a faking kicks. floyd will definitely dodge my kicks but i doubt floyd can dodge a kick from jon
Boxer here. A boxer joining MMA is like an nfl player joining hockey an mma fighter trying boxing is like a football player joining rugby. Yes in both scenarios you’re at a disadvantage bc it’s not your sport but one transition is much easier so I agree with Jon on that. Floyd never seriously considered doing mma even if he said it he’s been boxing his whole life and he’s not stupid. I’d never do mma I can’t do anything but strike. Two completely different sports MMA is much more slower paced but way more lethal. In a boxing match Floyd wins off points some ppl even mma fighters just don’t understand the skill of an Olympic boxer yet alone an all time great world class boxer. What gets most of us boxers is that we know most of these mma guys can strike with us and read and react to our punches bc for the most part boxers handwork, speed, technicality is so much better on average so we think we can go in there defend takedowns and beat them off striking but unfortunately most boxers also significantly underrate the skill of a world class wrestler u ain’t defending that takedown.
This is just facts, and everyone knows this, but some people, even though they are aware of this, just want to see Mayweather lose. They don't care about an uneven playing field. MMA fight training does incorporate boxing techniques. Boxing training does not incorporate MMA training techniques. Terrance Crawford, who was also a wrestler at one point in his life, would have a better chance, although he'd still have problems with some many more things to look out for in MMA.
