Kobe played against Steve Nash every year from around that time all the way up until 2010. Nash suns was not slow at all. D wades heat , Carmelo nuggets, lebrons Cleveland all were not slow teams.
@@jajuanfelton3766the era in which the person is talking about is over a decade long. You seriously named dropped FOUR teams over that time span, to illustrate a point that it wasn't slow. Gosh you're dense 🤦.
The thing is, you watch Kobe’s games from beginning to end offense and defense and when he doesn’t have the ball , focus on him, You learn so fuckin much! It’s incredible
Kobe is the most skilled player of all time because hes statistically the best scorer, at worst tied with Jordan. AND hes a two way Demonnn. Him have so many 1st team all defense while averaging 30+ is Alien. Rest in Heaven 🐐💛💜
@@julianreed8479it's almost as if you didn't read the comment AT ALL and decided to regurgitate some asinine narrative of today. Kyrie can't TOUCH skill set (offense, defense, footwork, post play, on ball, off ball down screen, free throw shooting, scoring etc) of Kobe. In fact, when he tried Kobe laughed at him then locked him up 🤷. Plus Kyrie ONLY plays ONE side of the game stop it
Kyrie is definitely up there with him but I totally agree with you. The main thing that separated him from Jordan was his efficiency. Mike shot 50% for his career while Kobe hovered around 45-46. Skill for skill however, nobody was better
Dames 2 month stretch last year from 1/08-3/06 needs to be highlighted also man was 38 7 5 on .498 .388 .936 splits. Including a 50, 60, and 71 point game capped off by a 31 12 13 game.
The amazing thing about this is that he also had 62 points in 3 quarters about 2 weeks prior to all of this. The 62 point 3 quarters was a big accomplishment when you consider that the Dallas Mavericks went to the Finals that year
Great video, Kobe definitely deserves more love. The mainstream media does not want to give him credit since his passing. only caveat is did we have to go at Lamar Odom so badly? Of course he’s had his hard times in life, but he was a great piece on those two championship teams post Shaquille O’Neal.
I wish the Lakers were contenders during the 2006 & 2007 seasons. These were Kobe’s best individual seasons of his career and both ended in the first round. Imagine him averaging 40 for an entire series against the Spurrs or Mavs . My first season watching hoops was 1991 so I missed out on young Mike so these prime Kobe seasons were the most impressive offensive displays I’ve ever seen. When he scored 40 you’d half expect it. You’d be more surprised when he didn’t. These weren’t James Harden empty stat stuffing either. The Lakers needed him to score at an all time high as well as play all league defense . Most impressive 🤔😅
@@wangtang12 you sound like Skip Bayless criticizing Lebron bc he only scored 27 points in the 4th quarter of a playoff game instead of 28🙄😆. Learn to appreciate things you might only get to see once in a lifetime instead of negatively nitpicking…or don’t 🤔😁✌️
@vanslang5385 not the that impressive. He sacrificed the team success to score a bunch of points while not even shooting greater than 45%. Not that impressive
@@wangtang12 you got it backwards my guy. The little team success the Lakers had those years were primarily the result of Kobe’s brilliance. These Lakers were between the 3 peat squad with Shaq & the back to back team with Paul (a playoff team, in the loaded West) Typically if a player was just gunning with no regard for winning he’d be putting up a bunch of empty stats (high FG#s while having a worse record when scoring at or above your average vs when you score less) One of the reasons these seasons were so special for a team that lost in the first round in back to back seasons was watching Kobe will the Lakers to wins they had no business having such as beating the Mavs in 2006 (who went to the Finals btw🤔) while out scoring them by himself by the end of the 3rd, 62-61. That same year when he put up the video game stat of 81 points he brought his team back from nearly 20 points down to a comeback win. Just the two most famous games he did this over the course of these two seasons. As far as his shooting %, that’s what was the biggest difference between Mike & Kobe. Mike was more efficient from the field than Kobe. That said for the vast majority of Kobe’s career 1998-2013 he shot 45-47% from the field which is just good enough to consistently win titles in the NBA (look it up; since 1991: the year I started watching no team has won a title without their best player shooting at least 45% overall from the floor: except maybe the 2004 Pistons, who might be the exception to every rule & stereotype there is🤔🙄😆
5:18 “dominating plumbers” is super disrespectful and disregarding of many legends. “Fat Shaq” to LA, man Kobe is my favorite player of all time but you’ll lose general audience viewers with biased takes. And “dominance” means winning imo. He wasn’t at all during this era. He was putting up video game numbers though.
@@davis2k1234 the only person that belongs next to mj in that debate is lebron. Nobody else even has a case. In my opinion mj is slightly better but dam it’s close. Kobe is in that Tim Duncan area
He was absolutely the best player in the world when he was in the Finals without Shaq. Never let a LeQueen stan or a lack of MVPs tell you otherwise. A reminder that in 2008 he torn a ligament on his shooting hand in the regular season, wrapped up and learned how to shoot with it. Ended up all the way to the Finals with it and beat that Orlando Magic team easily. The same team LeBalco failed to beat and make it to the Finals to meet Kobe, which would have settled this stupid argument. R.I.P. to Kobe Bryant, one of the most influential and one of the GOAT 💯
I did wanna point out also the comment on Wilt Chamberlain’s 100 point game was off, the Knicks actually tried to slow the game down by holding the ball so he couldn’t make it to 100 points! Also the running myth that he played against players are much shorter is a little overstated, actually presently the discrepancy between the tallest and shortest players is greater now than when we played!
Kobe bryant doesnt impress me. Jeremy Lin reached greater heights in shorter time and would have dominated if he didnt get dumped. I dont care what anyone thinks. It's true. I knew kb in hs, and he was alwas a pretty boy who got best of both worlds by also being 'down with the brothers' . he;s a selfish and self absorbed pos, and the world is bette roff now that he's gone.
The Greatest Basketball Player of All Time ask Jordan,he respected Bean so much, they were the best to ever do it, he Mastered the Game , it tickles me that they chose,to disregard this Man, Kyrie Irvin most skilled What a freaking joke, let him play defense, like this Cat, Rest in Peace Black Mamba! I watched , I witnessed, they didn't like this Man , becuz he was his own Dude , so u Haters shut the hell up !!
Great video brotha. Especially shedding light on why the nba did not make Kobe the face at the end. That is a very important part of the story that season.
He never ruled the world. He was a top 3 player in the world alone with LeBron and Wade and those 3 battled it out for the crown from 06-11. Neither one of those 3 players really stood out from the other. Kobe just had that massive LA spotlight
