Laura, I don’t know if you like topic suggestions, but I think a possible good topic would be taking a look at Catholics canceling Catholics. (The most famous one I know of is that spat between T. Marshall and T. Gordon.) Like when Catholics fight each other through their videos on RU-vid. What Catholic has recently blocked another Catholic on their channel and why? More proof that horseshoe theory is a better way to view opinions than a straight line.

In the Orthodox Catholic Church, Fr. Seraphim Rose saw something of this in how the temptation of the left and the temptation of the right held the same, wordly spirit behind it. And indeed the liberal Orthodox of the Fordham school and those teetering on the edge of the old calendarists share quite similar views. Quite notably, both absolutely disdain the Moscow Patriarchate and play guilt by association with it, both perceive the entire Church as being against them so to say, both hate the OCA, and I could go on. Horshoe theory strikes again! I will say I don't necessarily think the "moderate" position is correct, but rather the approach of Fr. Seraphim, that was maximal zeal married with maximal love and longsuffering. Compromise between extremes is lukewarm. I think all religions these extremes can be found, with a left, right, and moderate position, but the zeal combined with virtues can only be found in the bosom of the Orthodox Catholic Church, because for true virtue and perfection, one needs the life giving Mysteries of the Church, which do not exist outside her. One can approach this outside the Church but not fully enter into it.
