@@eedds222 As a Spaniard myself, I don't know why we can't get rid of that broken English accent (ALO has a particular accent from Northern Spain as well) in spite of learning English since the childhood. Obviously, there're people who speak a flawless English.
Alonso's the reason I got interested in F1 again. Until he came along, there was no real competition for Schumacher, who was winning practically all the races and was always on pole; but Alonso was able to go toe-to-toe with him and made F1 exciting to watch again. Alonso is highly regarded as one of the best, if not THE best F1 driver of his generation.
rodentcafeteria Aren’t you forgetting about Mika and Montoya? Didn’t they give Michael a run for his money at some stage or another? Completely agree with all you have to say about Alonso however. What a driver!!!
I love Alonso and Webber and love how Alonso too gave respect to Jenson, for they are 3 of the drivers who has done the best at being great drivers and great people at the same time, and that to me is the mark of true champions.
Still remember when both of theses guys gave each other a ride back on their cars, Mark picked up Alonso at the 2011 German GP & Alonso returned the favor in 2013 Singapore Grand Prix when he scooped up Webber and gave him a ride back.
I've always rated this guy up there with Schumacher and Senna. Sadly history will show Hamilton as the most successful driver of this era because he's always had a great car since 2007. Sometimes having unbelievable talent like Alonso does means nothing if you don't have the tools. It's sad as he would have been equal to Schumacher on the stats sheet if he had the car
Of course, this wouldn´t be a Alonso video without their fans crying and selling the story of the "inferior car". It worked wonders in Ferrari, so now they say everything Alonso seated on was inferior. (still in 2007 had the same car. 2010, 2011 and 2013 had a better car than Lewis). And even in 2012, the car was better for Lewis, but the reliability was absolute shit in the Mclaren... So... Yeah.
Curious Cat put hamilton in McLaren all his career and he still will have one title, the one that he won with fernando back in the shitty Renault, Hamilton and Alonso TIED 107 points on McLaren with all British team supporting Lewis
And you said 2010 2012 and 2013 had better car than Lewis? Well maybe in your dreams mate stats speak in itself: Constructors championship 2010 1 Rbull. 498 2 McLaren 454. Ham 240p 3 Ferrari. 396. Alo. 252p (+12) 2011 1RBull. 650 2Mclaren. 497. Ham 227p 3ferrari. 375. Alo. 253p (+26) 2012 (only year Ferrari better tn McLaren) 1 RBULL. 460 2 Ferrari 400. Alo. 278. (+88)!! 3 McLaren 378. Ham 190 2013 ham in mercedes 1Red bull 460 2Merced. 360. Ham. 189p 3Ferrari. 354. Alo. 242p (+53) Well thats the truth and after that tell me McLaren is better car than Mercedes or Renault was better than McLaren in 2008 or 2009
When Fernando said that Jenson Button is the hardest & most complete team mate he has ever worked with, was a really nice way of saying Jenson deserves more than he has managed to achieve. Fernando is the most complete driver at the moment (in my opinion) even though Jenson is my favourite! I'm from uk & he's a really nice bloke. Lewis isn't my kind of guy. He's too cocky/arrogant & at times petty when things don't go his way. Boo hoo get on with it Lewis!
Very good interview. Both of those are great Mans! Despite of just 2 championships, FERNANDO ALONSO IS A LEGEND! The same as Senna and Schumacher. Seb & Louis are both Un-Match for Alonso skills & Talent, No matter how many championships they have.
@@jamesyelton11 yawn. Korea WAS his fault, are you actually denying that? Whose fault was it? Horner’s? And are you actually saying red bull were trying to ‘sabotage’ their own driver? Lmfao you sound like a very sore loser indeed my friend. Webber was never WDC material. He ignored team orders and then when seb did it back to him he cried like a little baby. That’s not how a champion acts.
It doesn't matter, that Honda's engine isn't competetive. Important thing is a fact, that Alonso is still THE BEST F1 driver! :) I hope, that in 2017 McLaren Honda will build competetive car (aeropack & engine) and Alonso will fight for 3rd title.
if u mean italy. yes his race strategy got compromised, after the bad pit stop hulk basically jumped him so alonso had to make time for the loss screwing up his tyres in the process. his middle stint became shorter than expected and JB had extended his middle stint and pitted 5 laps later and went on the ss. there u go, i do have to admit JB drove better during the Italian GP. so your statement "He doesn't seem better than Button" is invalid because atm alonso is leading button in the points by 13 points.
the season is not over yet and last year Button finished ahead of Alonso, and their cars have tons of mechanical problems, so points don't mean much anyways
If you think Alonso is slower than Button u dont know a shit about F1, just go search on google the qualyfing battle in McLaren this and past year... Alonso is much faster and smart than him, Alonso is just the best driver nowadays and one of the best drivers F1 has ever seen, something that Jenso isn´t
He would probably not win the championship and would say it was the fault of one of these things: the tires, the engine, the car (it was inferior), the teammate, the boss, the teammate father messed with his tires, the track was not fast enough, Gipitu engine gipitu engine, the FIA, the car again. (oh, except when he wins, when he wins it´s totally his fault).
What does that has to do with what I wrote? And yes he has all the right to complaint - internally. Doing it on the radio ALL THE TIME and even pretending to have an engine failure so he could retire and/or make Honda look bad again (or make him look like a victim again, he loves that role) to me is unprofessional. He said he would leave if Mclaren-Honda wasn´t competitive by September, well, we are reaching September and now he says that Mclaren has to decide, him or Honda. Well, didn´t he said he was going to leave the team? Well do it then. But he has no where to go, so he has to keep stalling and continue doing the victm role, oh poor Alonso, he always has a bad car, even when he was winning races at Ferrari he would say the car was either bad or inferior to glorify himself.
"The motivation is always there". Quits at the following year. Seriously, I hope he may enjoy a come back and win a deserved 3rd title, as Prost did in 1993 (his 4th and final).
Fernado as been unfortunate in his career, he's not been in the best car at the right time. But that aside me and everyone who watches F1 knows he's one of the fastest drivers on the grid. He always out drives is car.
I like how everybody is very supportive of Fernando because he is going through a difficult time, but when the same is happening to Seb in Ferrari, then everybody is attacking them all. It's so fair towards the Scuderia that has won more than any other in the history of the sport, so respectful! Aaaaah double standards!
He has actually on the podium some time ago. It wasn't as bad as you would think. A lot of the tension goes away once they don't need to fight eachother anymore.
Someone mentioned schumacher and senna in the same sentence! They should remember that Schumacher never got ANY pole positions while senna was alive. And when Prost and Senna were both in F1 Schu was always running behind them on track. Enough said.
Watching this, I feel like a partnership between Alonso and Webber, maybe in the Renault days, would've worked wonders, but in the end, their friendship could fell apart
As much as you all want to believe Alonso's narrative, and i as a fanboy wanted to as well. IT just isnt true. Seb and Lewis have actually won more races without the top car than Alonso and throughout his entire time with Ferrari he liked to pretend he was outdriving the car, when realistically it just had pace.
I never liked Webber when he was a driver. Always number 2, he just didn't win enough. But I really like him as a commentator or whatever. No one calls one of those flying laps as well as he does. And that he calls a spade a spade.
Webber didn't win enough because Red Bull never let him. Team orders were called on Mark multiple times. Even Vettel got preferential treatment especially with new development. The best case of this was Silverstone 2010. Webber was supposed to get the new front wing because it was his turn but Vettel threw a tantrum and got it instead pissing Webber off. Karma bit Vettel cause Mark won the 2010 British GP.
