Korean students don’t realize how lucky they are with the food they get. I’m from America and I wish I had the regular school meal it’s way better than what we get here.
I wish my school provided the same lunch meals as the poor girl. At my school, most students either brought lunch from home or just didn't eat at all because of how bad the food was. 😂
At my school back then they would serve salad, orange chicken rice bowl, burger, Philly cheesesteak I think those were freshly made, chicken sandwich, curly fries, tater tots and they were frozen, and on Wednesday and Friday a pepperoni pizza from a local pizza parlor which was the best. And also fresh fruit and veggies such as carrots, celery, broccoli, red bell peppers, banana, apple, oranges and for drinks Shamrock 2% milk, chocolate milk, and apple juice. My school even has a snack shop I would get a Arizona Green Tea and a small bag of Baked BBQ Lays Chips and outside of the cafeteria they serve Chick-fil-A sandwich, mini pizza from Dominos, and Jamba Juice smoothies and my school still serves Jamba Juice to this day. So my school was pretty lucky to have at least have decent food but those Korean school lunches either rich and poor looks so much better than our school lunches.
@@blackpinkxblinks6915 I'm pretty sure the food served in your school was also good since Indian food is very delicious but what type of Indian food North or South?
The rich girl (Je-Yi) will not be able to survive in poor living condition if she thinks that regular school meal is bad. And I feel bad that regular school kids like the other girl (Ye-Ji) is constantly shown what better meals can be that they become unable to be grateful of the regular meals, which are already of so much better quality that that of many less fortunate countries.
Omg the rich girl's school lunch is better than the food i have as an adult! That's like a special occasion meal and she gets to have that every day? I'd go to school just for the food too ngl!
They need to do foreign school lunches for Yeji so she will be forever grateful for her school lunch 😂😂😂 My luch was usually fried rice PLAIN with nothing. If you want to add egg or ham, you need to pay extra. Forget veggies or fruit, those only available if your parent have time to cook and prepare your lunch box 😂😂
my Canada school had mid~ok food like franchise quality, tho it was optional for purchase; we mostly brought our own food. I assume they re-heated most of our stuff tho, even if it was supermarket quality cuz it was mostly dry foods / ok sandwiches / fries / scones etc. I didn't see anything steamed / boiled / extra prep stuff besides maybe the pastry-adjacent things. There is def worse school food tho in the west. Also, many students ate outside of the cafeteria by choice cuz it was a bit small / idk why tbh?? Most of us ate on the floor or went to the nearby stores for food if we felt like it- my school also sold fresh slice pizza tho for lunch. Idk if we'd get full, balanced meals often, unless u subscribed for cafeteria stuff vs just buying a few items there sometimes.
Despite the differences in quality of the school lunches its still better than the average American school lunch. Even Yeji's lunch it has things I like such as multi grain rice, kimchi, miyeok guk, seaweed wraps, egg salad but I don't usually eat that all the time since there's better ways to eat eggs, fried fish, and anchovies I would like to try those anchovies the Korean way and the only time I eat anchovies is in pasta putanesca and a Caesar salad because the anchovies are in the dressing if you make it from scratch. Jei's lunch looks so good its pretty much stuff I can eat on a everyday basis such as the salad, pasta but I eat pasta or noodles once a week can't eat too much everyday, slice of pork and fruit but I know fruit is expensive in South Korea but its a lot cheaper in the US since we have a lot of land to grow crops and import tropical fruit depending on the season and pork is more affordable in the US than beef and pork belly is way cheaper than buying a beef rib roast depending on size and marbling. (Edit) wow 400 likes and counting thank you.
I hate how the rich girl kept taking food from the poor girl . The purpose of the experiment is trying each other's meal and eating it whoally . I really dont like how she kept complaining about the food and asking the girl several times if that is what she eats everyday ? I feel like the poor girl asked her to eat with her out of politeness and embarassement . If you eat this type of food everyday just let the poor girl eat if for once , she really annoyed me when she kept stealing and taking bites here and there . JUST FOCUS ON YOUR DAMN MEAL EVEN IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT
wtf why you ars being so drama queen if apply your logic, isnt the poor girl start stealing at first. girlllllllllllll this is a content! WAKE UP! BE MATURE!
The rich girl should have just let the poor girl eat in peace because she eats that type of food everyday! It's a shame, I hope tho that they become friends and then go out to eat together often!
a. we dont know that the video could be cut. b. doesnt even matter would you rather enjoy your meal to yourself or have a stranger picking at it too?@@hanahinachan
They already did not finish it, even when they ate together. Also she asked her if she doesn't mind i don't know if it's cultural difference but a lot of Asian countries love sharing food with each other
@@flxwsomeshe mentioned how she eat like this sometimes too but the food was bland even the other girl said the same thing how the food did not taste that good also she said she need to eat the food to show appreciation to the one who made it
it's so interesting that schools had menus in Korea, and that the difference between the school menus is so big. We had a canteen where food was relatively affordable for kids (up to SGD 9:18 $2? Though I'm not sure about how much it costs these days), and because we had to cater to everyone's tastebuds, we had a variety of food - western, indian, chinese, malay usually + snacks and drinks store. Makes me kind of miss school food.
Honestly since I watch kdrama when I saw school’s meals (like the poor one) I felt so envious seriously they got so much food and healthy! As a French student we often got few dry pasta with fake cheese, without taste fish and a yogurt and the plate was never full like Korean one
Bruh as a Malaysian student, I had to buy meals at the school canteen but they’re not even an enough portion for a human being so all the time I would just bring lunchbox or I would wait until the school hours end just to eat at restaurants with my friends
I grew up in Malaysia too yeah we need to buy meals at the canteen and what you can buy depends on how much allowance you were given . A thirsty me would be buy a slice of watermelon for 50 cents instead of bottled water for rm1 . Cant refill water from taps tho 😅
Watching this as an American feels highly unrelatable. Especially when the people having financial difficulties here had to jump through hoops to get free lunch, and it’d just be an uncrustble or an under/over-cooked slice of pizza (honestly sometimes it was both at the same time somehow). As you got older the portions didn’t really increase, so you’d just be hungry, unless you could afford to pay for extra lunch, which kind of defeats the whole needing free lunch thing. In my area they eventually gave free lunch to everyone at certain schools/grades. But that didn’t change the fact that certain people needed that, so they definitely couldn’t afford to buy more of the meager spread put out. When I see other countries’ spreads for lunch, I’m like we would’ve killed for that. The poor woman’s lunch would’ve been super popular. The rich one would’ve had people bringing Tupperware from home.
Now show us their house everyday lifestyle etc i love the chemistry between them even though they've just met each other on this show (i guess) plus it'lll be so entertaining
In my country no lunch meal . Indonesian btw . We just buy our saviour Indomie hahaha ... Jei just like school princess and yeji is everybody fav friend .
The experiment was to experience what the other one eats everyday and I hate how the rich one felt sort of entitled to eat from the other plate without asking properly…you can tell she never got denied in life
Perhaps it's because they finally can eat school lunch after graduate, just.. seeing this i hope the rich girl not waste any meal that she had in her life. But this is still much nice comparing to other country lunch meal.
So you guys don't pack lunches from home , you get it from school , we were rearely given one pt class once a week and that too was taken by our maths teacher 😂
I would pack sandwiches and eat at school but in high school it’s a different matter …EuropeI mean your school either provides good meals or you don’t pay for it and get by but honestly taking breakfast lunch with you is so much with the bag filled with assignments and books…not every school but most asks to take books home and next day with you … Teachers would be angry if someone doesn’t bring their atlas etc. The girls around me would buy coffee or water or something sweet at their breakfast or take an apple. I know twas me , I would take fruits and have it as breakfast and one muzli snack. Or veggie sandwich one for breakfast and one for lunch. I didn’t trust the quality and I preferred arriving home and eating later or friends would on their way home go in and eat in cafe or a small restaurant or buy like turkish gyros … Sorry I said a lot! Anyway…It’s shocking how they weren’t grateful for the lunch they could eat daily when the nutrition students take relates to how well we do in school and in p.e classes! I think having soup alone with more veggies and meat or other protein is like a choice for me.
Damn they get a lot of food then we got in Brooklyn with the struggle meals of paste imitating mashed potatoes and mystery meat supposedly salisbury steak ;to this day wonder what meat that was but never saw a rodent in the building HMMM lmfao
Im my school luch starts at 12pm and in my first year i used to go at 12pm itself because i was on the first floor but in my senior year i was in the 4th floor so ill go for lunch at 1:30 and the special items they made for that day would be done 😢 nothing would be left for us seniors 🙃
4:20 this was me at my school, in middle school id eat people's chocolate milk and oranges because i hated the entrees, fruit is pretty cheap in the us though, so id have one or two oranges. The food got better when i moved to a smaller town ironically, i loved nacho day and turkey day. I hated spicy chicken sandwich and pizza. Id also always throw out the roll because the only butter theyd give you was out for everyone to spit on.
Jei is too much over.. she like a type of rich student who only like people to praise her wealth. a bit sick to watch it. And hey she even doesnt respect the order to swap their food. Keep looking at her original food and eat it . Yeji is best!!
Haha I don’t understand the comments of “how lucky” or “how unfair” it is. You get what you pay for? The tuition to that school is probably really high and covers the cost of the food and labor preparation. Same to if you pay for first class seats on a plane. You are paying for the privilege of being served and treated a little differently than someone who bought an Econ seat. 😅 if you go to a public school taxes cover your lunch. If you get bad lunch you must live in a lower income area and that’s what the taxes the community pays can afford. The higher the taxes (the higher the household incomes) means better stuff. Someone is paying for it. Maybe look to your parents and neighbors to be taxed more if you want better school lunches? Haha jk but my point still stands this stuff is being paid for by someone and it’s you.
Right!!! The “poor girl” lunch is quite good actually…the other one is more westernised and over the top I think! In Europe we never eat this much in school regardless which type of school it is…not even the teachers eat like this. Pasta and bread on one plate doesn’t seem something everyone would eat.
i really wanna know what the rich girl's school is because i'm more familiar with the 'poor' girl's one. is it one of the top schools (i assume they give better food)?
But seriously, is she really rich? I mean she doesn't has the quality of being rich. Her attitude, the way she is talking and how she act is not classy at all
My school is poooorr we even have to pay to use the bathroom which is 15 dollars a year ?!? Also our school lunch consist of one main meal but you gotta pay extra if you wanna eat
The rich girl's food looks delicious but from a health perspective, looks fatten with all the carbs. So much sauce and the amount looks like 2 servings. So rich people eating those meal every day don't get overweight? While the poor student food doesn't look that delicious but compare to American schools, it's alot healthier.
Mate, even the normal highschooler meal is much better than what most people have. I am grateful to have school meals but they were nothing like this. The sauces were literally glow-in-the-dark like and poorly cooked. The steamed veggies were pre-made so by the time we ate it they all turned yellow and wrinkly. I'd take the normal lunch any day.
rich girl lunch is just European cuisine? I expected some real luxury, not just like cheese and pasta 🤣 only because its European, doesn't mean its luxury one. I would agree if she got caviar / truffles / lobsters etc, but this is just plain meal for 30 euros in Germany
Honestly both meals put america's lunch system to shame. At least compared to my school, all they have was junk unhealthy food. I find myself having to eat barely anything lol I would also pack but my school doesnt give us enough time after lunch to go back to our lockers, so i would have to carry my lunch everywhere- Not adding the fact that we arent even aloud to have out backpacks on us because the schools scared of vaping and cigs being in there
anak di korea pantesan ga ada yang stunting, makanan sekolah sehari2 nya aja untuk sekolah yg menengah bawah aja cukup banyak dan nutrisinya bagus jg....
I don't know if anime correlates with Korean culture, but if anyone know an anime I can watch that is based on something like this, I would greatly appreciate the feedback and responses! Thank you
