Well I hate to say it, because I don't want to come off as trying to play victim, but one he's African, and two, he's a devout Muslim. A seemingly innocuous combination at first, but he doesn't fit the bill for the Ballon d'Or and other top honors, since he's not of European/South American descent. I generally avoid dragging race, and creed into debates, but its the unspoken truth.... his first name will certainly hold him back quite a bit as well. Oh well, at least he's holding out on his contract talks in an attempt to increase his wages, and luckily for LFC fans, he doesn't seem to pay too much attention to these dubious awards.
