I was homeless for a few months before. Not once did I ask anyone for anything. I was so afraid of this happening that I just didn't risk it. I manage to fix my situation quicker than most in the same predicament. But thank you to all those who genuinely help those struggling and for those struggling, I hope your light is right around the corner. Keep your head up!

Help people on camera, people like you say it isn't genuine. Help people off camera, nobody knows and everyone calls you a greedy asshole for hoarding all that money instead of helping the needy.
Youre not special lol, literally anyone who goes to a gas station regularly to fill up for gas sees homeless people. They all cluster at gas stations in America
Not all people. There are genuine people that record and help the homeless for awareness, you can tell the difference between the genuine and insincere people. It's a double edged sword really, If you don't help the homeless, people question if you're even doing anything to benefit society. If you do, you're a clout chaser. There is no winning.

There’s a channel that records homeless (particularly ones with mental illness) and gets their story. Many homeless want to get their story out there. Anyway, people try to start gofunds me for certain people. Others that appear on the channel, usually get a second interview. Some pass away afterwards too and many of the viewers are told this so they get closure. Edit: The channel is “Tales from the Streets” Edit: Some homeless even get famous from being recorded too. One example is that dude with the golden voice from YEARS AGO. Nowadays it’s usually someone with a talent like playing drums a in a subway, or doing shows for people so the fact you all believe that recording is this taboo thing is fucking ridiculous
Was once sitting near a bus-stop with a couple homeless people sitting at a streetlight. A jeep full of young guys around my age stopped nearby and one of them leaned out to offer a dollar. One of the homeless dudes tried to get it but the other guy just pulled back into the jeep. Him and his friends laughed right in the poor guy's face as they sped away. The homeless guy looked real disappointed so I handed him a dollar instead and apologized on behalf of the ones that were messing with him. No filming, no laughs, just conscience. Sometimes that last one's hard to find.
this just straight facts, everyone feel like they gotta document good deeds for gratification and proof that they do good things. just do good and it will be done unto you no one has to know but you.

They document it so others can say "wow look how good this person is" They don't really care to do it most of the time they want the praise and social media reaction to it. God says in Matthew 6:3 KJV: But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth. Everybody doing things to be seen are actually doing wrong. Go help people expecting nothing in return without showing it off or boasting about it. God knows what you did, nobody else has to know.

It's funny cause this is so true. I was reading one day and came across this verse and the Lord showed me even down to telling your family members or even wife its not necessary. They don't have to know you gave to the homeless today. It's sufficient enough God moved you to do It out of Love. Between you and God you did it considering your brother or sister lack and need. A tip for my brothers and sisters a wise man once told me it's always good to keep cash even in this day and age. It's a good practice you never know when someone needs. Even keep a small amount in your car. You never know when God might call you to help a brother or sis yah know. If you can't give that sometimes you can pray for them in heart and give them at least a good morning or good afternoon, how are you? Cause sometimes they get ignored. Here's the verse I was referring to... - “Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.” Mathews 6:1
People are broken and why not spread good news? Did the Bible not say good news gives health to the bones? Is not helping people good news? You can say it without being prideful, just include God in all of it. :) Sure you don’t have to tell everybody, or anybody. That’s what I do, I don’t really tell anybody of the good stuff I do, But if you do, God will get the glory. Jesus did say our works will shine and people will know about it.

But randomly telling your spouse, or someone you worked with “I helped some homeless person with XYZ thing” is not humble. We are always to remain humble first and foremost like what the original comment suggested.

As a kid I used to always think that I want to travel the world just to help all the people in need especially ones that were my age at the time bc I used to struggle rlly bad too, I used to wanna film it too just to show the world how things should be but now ik I can't cus ppl out there fakin for likes and views and now one would believe me, but I still stay out here helping them every chance I get till this day without the camera not too long ago I gave a man my last 20 bc I knew I'd be able to get it back eventually not him

Very right , a rich person can't comprehend the pain of a poor person that has to battle every second to survive or the struggle or a middle class that have to work daily to still be alive. People with easy life can never understand the pain of others and if they did there would've been less humanitarian issue instead they waste their ressource on meaningless material such as extra jewellery and cars.
Man This one time I quit smoking so I could afford rent and I drove up to my minimum wage job and a homeless guy asked me for some money so I did. I went inside and the same guy used my $20 to buy cigarettes for himself.

I learned a long time ago that there are two types of people. People who generally care and are overall wonderful people and people who are nice only to seek validation for there efforts.

I be giving what I can when I can. I be struggling to so its never a lot but I do what I can, especially now. Homeless rates are crazy rn and I get stopped constantly in NY.
On one hand I get it, for SURE because I’ve been homeless before and I’d hate to have a camera and shit in my face-but on another hand I do think putting it out there definitely promotes the idea of doing good. And I’m sure at least a decent portion of people doing this ask the person before pulling the camera, at least I would hope so.
