We’ve already seen examples of this from our lowered activity during COVID. Dolphins and Fish swimming in the canals of Venice, and cities in India that now enjoy breathtaking views of the Himalayas due to less smog in the sky
@@bentleyboy72 here in New Zealand most “wild” areas have no native plants at all, it’s mostly Broome, gorse, blackberry, pine etc. because NZ plants evolved to be slow growing compared to European or American plants.
This man is as old as my late great grandmother and he's still going strong. This video gives us hope that nature can maybe rebuild on the mess created by mankind on earth.
It’s really no question. The Earth has experienced five mass extinctions and each time, life found a way. If we really manage to screw up the world, like through nukes or whatever, nature will still rebuild give or take a few hundred thousand years. We just won’t be there to watch it recover.
I can’t believe this man is almost 96 and still making movies about nature. It is incredible. I wish he would never stop that. He is a world treasure. He knows and has seen nature more than anyone in history of the world
Wow, those timelapses of the plants regrowing right after being ripped out were incredible! As an urban explorer, I've always been fascinated by our abandoned past and how quick nature is to reclaim it!
Planet will survive, don't worry. I would be more worried about our own species, humans. We don't survive if we destroy our only home in the universe. Remember, 99% of the species ever lived on this planet have gone exctinct. Keeping that in mind, our number one priority should be to keep the planet liveable for us and stop arguing about who gets to own land here.
Every night I play one of David Attenborough's documentaries so I to go to sleep. There is no more soothing voice in the world to me. He blocks out the thoughts that invade the mind when we close our eyes. I don't believe there is one show he has done that isn't worth while. He is a brilliant man and I just wanted to appreciate him for a moment here!
Every year Sir David's world becomes a bit smaller--I don't think we'll be seeing him on any more African safaris or polar expeditions--yet he keeps finding new little corners there to fascinate and delight in. Would that we could all age so gracefully.
@@bingdinggold1877 Yes, but he's clearly not going to live just for his memories, even if his present is far more circumscribed than his past. We should all do that.
This reminds me of the part where after disaster Chernobyl was explained in the series Our Planet, where David Attenborough talks about the resilience of our planet Earth..
@@niemandnergens Chernobyl is the Romanization of the Russian spelling of the town and is generally used in English to refer to the nuclear accident. Chornobyl is the Romanization of the Ukrainian spelling and is the current standard in English for the town itself
I love the BBC all because of HIM! You’ve literally made my life more worthwhile academically, spiritually, mentally and emotionally. Thanks and good health to you Sir!
Just imagine what his carbon footprint has been and how many foreign materials him and his crew introduced to pristine wild areas. Him and his crew have done more to harm the environment than most can ever dream of.
@@stephaniecoomey2356 ok, but my point stands even more so because you are doing what all shite people do, attack language and walk away thinking you're smart and have won any sort of argument. Or are you saying that this old guy flies around like superman not using fossil fuels and private jets and boats and SUV's and 4x4s to get where they are going to film wildlife for a profit?
@@dankyjoker I can’t say anything on this left wing joke of a website, and you have the gore to say I attack language, lol. All the shots you’re talking about are filmed using robotics which are sent to film crews that are based in the regions they’re going to film. All the shots you think are camera men up close and personal are miniature drones or… STUDIO SET UPS - most of what you’re seeing is shot in LA in studios designed to look like the location they’re going to sometimes only as big as a shoe box. Danky joker lmao. Keep righteous dude ✌️
This is really heartwarming. With the winters being so dark and long in the North, I forget how green and full of life everything will become in the coming months.
Well the plants you grow at home probably aren't the same plants that grows in your backyard. With that in mind it is quite astounding that you can journey a plant species half way across the world and it's still able to live in a completely unnatural environment.
The one I got in my house a random guy who looks like he was wanted sold me the plant for 5.99 and said never let it in daylight and it's in my basement I call it dinosaurs plant becuase It has a mouth and is constantly killing spiders so I keep it it's also really nice it may bite at first but once It penetrates your skin it acts docile around you
That curbside time-lapse with panning was amazing. Super impressed by the meticulous daily work of moving the camera a tiny little bit every day so it smoothly pans once sped up.
These are the best documentaries in the world, the music is amazing, David Attenborough is the most wonderful man in the world, and the people who film it are fantastic
Beautiful and how the ugly broken down structures are beautiful once again ...It reminds me of the book Day of the Triffids .Nature will always survive ..Sensational video with the finest guide .Thank you Sir David :)
The weight of everyday life feels too much to bear for me sometimes. But I have found relief in nature. Getting off work and social life to simply take a stroll in the botanic garden just outside of the city becomes my moment of solitude and peace. Just sitting on the bench surounded by trees and shrubs, listening to the chirping of birds and insects, I can get intimate and start a meaningful conversation with myself. Such a wondrous time.
Walking through woods you find some old abandoned cemeteries and horse barns, stables and steps. Houses and buildings long reclaimed. It's fun exploring
Although an approximately four-minute video, but the effort that has gone into it is unmatchable. The brilliant output is a testimony of the same unparalleled effort.
I really need to sit and watch this I don’t think there is any David Attenborough program that I haven’t watched! I remember watching him on a Sunday as a child!
Sir David is the great orator of nature. The sorceror of the natural world who casts his magic on us.Mother Nature should rightly be proud that there is such a man who carries her voice to the populace, who opens our eyes to the beauty of her nature around us. Some of us are still to blind and selfish and want nothing but to claim their ownership of this planet and push aside the other denizens who live alongside, ignorant of the destruction that we,as humans might and do,cause. Sir David ,Long may you reign, and beyond that, long may your legacy shape us as we set off into this great wide world we share with the nature around us
Anything you can photograph, tour, or just talk with David Attenborough please do! He is one of the true National Treasures of England , and gift to the whole world…
