I just have to say that the officer from the first story has got to be one of the calmest and reasonable officers i have ever seen. He had more than enough probable cause to cuff the suspect LONG before he actually did. He even did his best to give him a break and benefit of doubt to not trample his rights. So much so that I was actually worried about him searching that car with the obvious bullet holes in it with the suspect just standing by the police car unrestrained. He seems to be one of the good ones.

I used to be an addict in uk in late 90s early 2000s. Most cops are like the one in the first video but the problem is, you only ever hear of the bad ones cos they make the news. Which makes people think most, if not all cops are bad. I ended up homeless at one point and had cops come and check on me, they knew I was a shoplifter and cos I never caused a scene once I was caught, they used to just make sure I was OK and didn't bother checking for warrants or anything, just that I hadn't ODed.They were always good with me. I had one cop say he liked arresting me, which confused me cos I never talked. When I asked him, he laughed and said all your friends kick off and cause shit, but you just want a doctor and then sleep till court. When homeless I had a cop but me boots cos I noticed mine had been stolen when he woke me up, only met one bad cop when I was a teen he persuaded me to take a charge of criminal damage and said he'd give me a caution. He just wanted to close it, then sent me to court for a fine. Trouble was, he said it Infront of my mom and on tape. So I beat the charge anyway, cos I clearly said "why take a chargw, for something I haven't done " and he said"I know you didn't do it, I think the kid who gave your name did it. " So wasn't even a big issue and I beat it cos the tape, but only cop who tried to screw me over and when an addict I dealt with dozens

The first officer conducted a very clean and thorough investigation. He dotted all of his I's and crossed his T's. He made sure everything was by the book and made the necessary calls to as many people as needed to ensure he didn't violate anyone's right, but he just knew something was wrong with that situation so he didn't want to let it go so easily. @ra8937: I’m a retired police officer in SoCal. Believe it or not, that is how 99.5% of officers conduct investigations. Some are “slam dunks” while others require more diligent investigations that sometimes take place with the original officer in the field during the stop as was demonstrated here. Most departments, at least when I was working, offer ride-alongs to civilians so they can get an up close and personal view of how law enforcement really works. Don’t rely on social media outlets to give you an unbiased view of this profession, find out for yourself. Call your local law enforcement agency and find out if they offer ride-alongs or even a “civilian academy”. Could be very eye opening. Have a great day and stay safe.

There was no way he was going to be cited and released. He didn’t have a DL. It would be one thing if he didn’t have a DL “on him.” They can look up your DL in the system. They’ve been able to do that ever since they had computers. But if you don’t have a DL, they can’t let you drive away, regardless of any other circumstances. Same if you don’t have insurance, or registration. They cannot allow someone to operate the vehicle on a public road without these things. Point is, this vehicle would have been towed. If the registered owner was able to get there in a reasonable amount of time and take the car, maybe. That just depends on what kind of agency you are dealing with. When they are getting kickbacks from the towing company, the vehicle is getting towed for having a cross threaded valve stem cover!

I can't believe that they still interview a suspect in the front seat of the police vehicle without first patting them down and then placing them in the backseat to continue the interview! These Officers/Troopers are very LUCKY they weren't injured or in a foot pursuit! They need to bring back the Police Street Survival classes that were very prevalent when I was on the Police Department! OMG please bring them back before any officers are injured!!!!

I was a cop in a small NC town, and I answered a ROUTINE call ( an inside joke for cops) of a car off the side the road late at night, long story short, the guy was drunk, passed out asleep. It took a while to wake him, When I saw he was intoxicated, I just held him for troopers because it was a little outside my jurisdiction. The guy kept insisting on showing me the paperwork, and I said NO, just wanting him to chill in the drivers seat until troopers arrived. I had to to keep telling him NO, but he finally leaned over and started going thru the glove box. My gut told me something was up, so I scrambled around and looked thru the passenger window. The driver grabbed a gun and swung around and pointed it at the drivers window where he thought I was. I had my gun on him and I was screaming DON'T MOVE! But he still swung toward me, I fined twice and retreated behind the car. In the end, he had two bullet holes, one in each hand, like Jesus, and the gun was disabled by one of the bullets.

unconstitutional . cops can only search within sight unless they have a warrant or you give them permission, probable cause gives them the right to search but only related to the crime. because of probable cause a lot of rights are lost so speeding, smoking, having smell of smoke in the car can all get your trunk searched if the police is patient enough to call a K-9 and claim your car smell like weed. this is why i dont smoke in my car i just smoke at home . or break laws if you are carrying something illegal xxxx specially not if you have a dead body x)

First officer was extremely exemplary police work. He was cordial, respectful, but absolutely in control of the situation where he had valid reason to maintain heavy suspicion. He followed the law perfectly, didn’t violate anyone’s rights in order to make an important arrest. Man deserves recognition. For reference with the truck driver who had cocaine, 40 pounds sounds sounds like a lot when considering the value but that’s a pretty small bust. There’s a discussion to be had between the difference of what feds say the street value of something is and what it actually sells for since actually selling large quantities of drugs comes with its own set of challenges. 40 pounds cocaine will fit on the average persons coffee table. The mules who aren’t getting caught are hauling waaaaaaaay more than that. Individual dealers frequently get caught with something in the 10-20 pounds range, so distribution is on a whole different scale.

secondly regarding the first clip (in which i've seen MULTIPLE times now) this is one of a dozen videos with this clip... Not only is that Officer conducting an AMAZING job containing the situation, but also doing above and beyond SIDE-OF-THE-ROAD investigation... impressive. Then a random guy just happens to be driving THAT DAY, on THAT ROAD, AT THATT TIME and sees this situation... to stop and catch the officer up on unknown information cuz at the time there's 0 body... which once the body was found it would have sparked another investigation. OR it would have started off as a missing persons case, which sadly, a LOT of officers don't do a lot after the first week unless it is SUPER HIGH PROFILE. "you better get some 'ACT RIGHT' in ya pretty soon" lmao i love this cop's way of speaking... back on topic, his awareness of the entire situation is astounding. but seriously, what kind of TOTAL MORON SPEEDS LIKE THAT ON A MISSION TO DISPOSE OF A BODY for most likely a gang initiation OR he's already IN ONE and this is him "putting in work" but i digress. from start to finish it seemed like the Creator seemed fit to keep this tragedy from going to a potential cold case - since there are body shops owned or bought out by big organizations where you can bring in a hot car, get new VIN #'s that are legal, all legal paperwork, and a NEW paint job and i'm sure it cost a lot but no matter what, it's 100% possible... and if they got rid of the body in a way no one ever finds him... no body, no car, no case. sad but true. so as i said before, Play Stpupid Games Win Stupid Prizes and tohat day, he won the DUMBEST PRIZE ON THE RACK.

One time I am glad the officer opened the trunk without permission. That boy had no authority to tell him not to search a car he could not prove was his. The officer handled that beautifully.

That first cop needs to be a FKKIN DETECTIVE! It’s like his spirit was exceeding his physical body and he couldn’t help it!! He seemed “short” with the guy who pulled up and the caller otp, but you could just tell he was experiencing another worldly jolt as if he was rushing to do something, but he just didn’t know what! I’ll tell you this, that young man’s spirit team is ST R ONG!! I need to research the entire interrogation, because I still can’t figure out why he killed his friend! So very sad man

They were fb friends and acquaintances. You have to be careful who you allow in your circle. Young man, the deceased, had a bright future ahead of him. Jealously can lead to horrible behaviors.

Actually in the second video he e actually didn't have to answer them with his name or anything. Legally we have a right to sleep in our automobile. We also do not have to answer officers unless we are under arrest. I am surprised that they are even showing that video because that was obviously a totally illegal search also. I am sure if the guy knows anyth😢about the law that whole case got thrown out.
