I purchased a PC board that was deformed beyond recognition from this alleged keyboard vendor. No refunds so far. 2 weeks in. Highly recommend staying away from this business
There were also big issues with the alu boards. Refunds are taking forever to get a response about, I've been waiting since the 8/17 for a response. Communication on discord has completely stopped.
This is past a quality control issues, this is no quality control for cost savings and lack of due diligence from the creator. This comes with inexperience running productions. For any creators reading this: please spend 250-500$ on a 3rd party quality control company to ensure the manufacturer meets criteria. The 3rd party QC company already has 90% of all the standards and are knowledgeable, you only need to give a simple description. And if you know what you're doing, you can start adding your own criteria. It's 1000% worth the expenditure. Don't accept 100% upfront payment from supplier, at most 50% deposit and balance payment before shipment (which is AFTER you did 3rd party QC control). Especially now if you produce in China. China is going through rough times, are hard on cash, lower demand, suppliers going bankrupt, and power outage/savings. There is 100% more motivation for smaller suppliers to skim or simply not care about a small order(s).
I love the idea of giving people some insight as to what is acceptable and what isn't. Maybe we can do it for PCBs one day, a video where people can learn how to QC and test PCBs!
as a kawayo customer, this is reassuring. the gb holder has been updating us the whole way through the scuffs, and as my first keyboard group buy experience this has been a pleasure. hopefully we see everything get sorted!
Thanks for understanding that very rarely GB's goes smoothly and deliver on time. We belive that the best thing that GB runners can do is to simply have full transparency and communication with their backers.
Charue is literally speed running there downfall with the amount of goofy ass decisions they are making, there form of communication is absolutely garbage as of recently
Hey can y'all do another video on Charue and call them out for their bullshit that they been doing. No communication but has time to go twitchcon to sell boards which includes the sunsetter.
It shouldn't totally put you off, but everyone should indeed know the risks of joining a GB. We always want our customers (and the community) to be fully informed of any purchasing decision that they make.
