Hi Linda I so appreciated your view on de cluttering our spaces. While my garden space was and is a joy I removed about half my pots on my patio which was a hard decision but I'm happy as the space looks better actually and is much easier to care for. It's so easy for us to keep adding to our collections but it is also good to know when to edit. Thank you.

My fave: hydrangea paniculata “Little Lamb.” The panicles start out a soft white and lime green, change to wedding white in high summer and finally mature to a beautiful russet in Fall. I had a 5-foot hedge of 16 against the fence line fronting our vegetable garden. We sold the house, but I still dream about driving two states away just to dig them out! ❤️

I love my tuberous begonia. Potted a white one last summer (Nonstop White) for my shady front porch along with white impatiens. It was glorious! Added so much light to that spot. I thought it died during our terrible ice storm in February. Nope! It’s putting on so much growth and will be sending up blooms in no time. Portland Oregon, 8a.

Love the wire Vine that you use. I like to use it also, a lot of times in hanging baskets. Oh yes, coleus are some of the easiest plants to propagate and I love them because they have so many different colors that grow in the shade some of them grow in the sun, they're just a great plant. That being said , I would like to warn people that garden. As I have stated in an earlier comment, I've been sick. They can't seem to find a virus or a bacteria causing it. But when I look back on when this happened to me, I think I have a clue. I think I came in contact with wild hemlock. Even though I have a 6-ft cedar fence around my backyard, The neighbors on the one side are renters and they do not take care of their yard. There are weeds everywhere in the backyard and they come under and grow into my flower beds. And I'm in a constant battle with this. I was trying to pull out these flowers that were starting to bloom, correct that to weeds. Although, I had long sleeves and jeans on and my rose pruning gloves on. I think I came in contact with wild hemlock. And not through my skin or my eyes, but I think I breathed in possibly the pollen from the flower heads. And since this whole plant is very deadly, to both people and animals. Everyone should be aware of this and be extremely careful when dealing with it. You can get a hold of your County Extension, in case you need help with identification or how to get rid of it. They say the best ways to use poison but that's pretty hard to do when it's mixed in your flower bed with things you do not want to kill. I am better but still unable to garden. So, I am gardening with you when you do your videos. At least we finally got some rain so I don't have to try to go outside and water when I'm feeling lousy and having difficulty breathing. I just wanted to pass this on to fellow gardeners. I don't want anybody to feel the way I felt in the last 2 weeks. Thanks for all your gardening tips and showing us your pretty home and lovely flower gardens.

I recently added coleus to my garden. I cut off some longer stems and have them rooting in water with lots of roots forming! Today I tried your method of directly placing the cuttings directly into wet soil and then watered them afterwards. Excited to see how they do verses the rooted cuttings. I garden in Central CA Coast with cloudy skies and highs in the mid 60’s in zone 9b. I also have a small rosemary plant in a pot and I’m training it into a topiary! You’re rubbing off on me! lol

I feel you, Stewart as I am a mosquito magnet. I love my Southern Living Endless Hydrangeas - Bloomstruck. They have performed greater than my expectation and have given me so much joy looking out my kitchen window with violet, blue and pink color. I equally love my Proven Winners BoBos. This is the first season in the ground and they are shouting out white panicles all over each plant. I would highly recommend both.

My favorite hydrangeas are all of the new ‘little’ types of paniculatas. It’s so much more practical in most gardens, the regular sized paniculatas can get so gigantic that there are so few places you can actually use them.

I have a Oakleaf Hydrangea 'Pee Wee' that I love planted around the base of a Ash tree. Unfortunately the ash is dying from Emerald Ash Borers but I will replace it with something else. Anyways, the Hydrangeas have spread around that tree and make a beautiful, flowering groundcover. I feel for Stewart, the mosquitoes really love me too. My fav hydrangea is oak leaf. I adore how the leaves turn coppery red in the fall and the look of the flowers over top of the snow. Only problem is after a very hard winter the big center main part died off and I have four or five big Woody branches headed in all directions, kind of splayed right now. Not sure if I should just chop it all close to the ground at some point and see how it grows back up. I have 5 other type hydrangeas that are becoming more like trees, getting all tangled up together and huge hostas underneath are not really visible. Not sure whether to trim off all the lower branches for this or even really how or when to trim any of them. Very confused about blooming on old wood and new wood and which is which etc.

I was forced to use my hose early this morning to give my struggling garden a drink, so that ought to make it rain!
