I have been around drag must of my young adult life and I was also surprised too. I am old now and out of touch with many of todays terms, so like Jimmy I thought and still think that RuPaul is a drag. He is not known for being a trans-person or a non-binary person……. But 100% Drag Queen. So, when Ru did that I was a little shocked too. Poor Jimmy, he did feel like he stepped in it, he expression was very honest.

He’s shown indifference about pronouns because when most drag performers are in drag people use she/her and when most drag performers are out of drag people use he/him, but that’s all. He’s not nonbinary or transgender, he’s a man who does drag (which is like stage acting). The reason why Jimmy is so shocked and assumed he got canceled is because he assumed he said something wrong because of Ru’s reaction, which was correcting Jimmy calling him “a drag queen” and not “THE queen of drag”, as a joke. Jimmy didn’t actually miss any information about Ru Paul’s gender, he is a drag queen, he just didn’t say Ru is “the queen of drag”. Hope that clears it up! :)
