In lay man term, shooting 3s was a lethal weapon and people are happy to take it. Problem is that older generation lacked the ability to make them. Which explains why when the line moved back and suddenly they couldn sustain it Watching back 80s and 90s. Most players including bird and mj had 2 arm spacing to take a 3. But they dont do it.

@@taroman7100 I know some people don't play basketball or study shooting techniques. When you release the ball at the apex of your jump or in other words you jump as high as you can then release that's the "two motion" technique examples are Ray Allen & Kobe Bryant. The "one motion" technique where you release as you're going up, using you entire body instead of just your arms. Women shot with this technique because they could generate more strength. Men historically were taught the two motion but now many use the one motion because for one it increases your range. And it's a better way to shoot.

Shooting is about technique (which Ionescu has great technique) than about strength. I have seen children make NBA 3 pointers consistently showing the average adult will have enough strength.
