Striper boils are fun to fish. I remember one trip to Lake Mead (some time in the 80's I think) my dad spotted a boil, and one particular cast he hooked one up. He thought it was massive, because it put up a good fight. When we got it in the net and into the boat, none of us could believe that he had landed it. Reason being (and I kidd you not, no lie!!) he had of all things, hooked that Striper through the eyelid!! 🫨😲 It was like: no way in a million years could you ever do that again!! It was still a keeper though and a nice catch. As always I enjoyed this video. 🤣😂 those crazy birds!!

That’s awesome, was just there in at the beginning of October didn’t realize u have strippers. I live in Connecticut and the blitz (boils) are crazy from the rivers to Long Island sound. Your fortunate to be able to keep small ones out west. Connecticut and the rest of Northeast minimum keeper is 28 inches. The smallest is around 12 and they go all the way up to about 40+ inches.

We were out 3 weeks ago in front of boulder beach right at sunrise and the stripers and carp were boiling in less than 5 feet of water about 15-25 feet from shore. I think you could have been pretty successful shore fishing. Tons of fun catching carp, striped bass, and bass at the same time.

One on a 3/4 ounce Kastmaster, one on a Rat-L-Trap, and one on a storm swim shad. Before they began boiling, we had zero luck with any of the lures we were throwing. I think we could have thrown anything during the boils and been successful. I have had really good success with 1/4 ounce kastmasters for smallmouth and largemouth during the daytime and at night.

Carp are pretty much a trash fish. Big Bear lake in Southern California was paying people to get them out of the lake because they were over populating the lake. I had buddies that would bow fish them and they said Big Bear (probably fish and game) was paying them $20 a Carp!!

I would say Lake Mohave... it’s about to be 🔥 but it’s hard unless you have a boat or know the good shore spots

Keep on keepin on brother keep your channel going and eventually start a guide service if possible do it for a living doesn’t hurt to try you know even having a huge following on the tube could help make that possible and your still young your getting in a lot of experience now and that will grow with time

John Evans The problem with overpopulation in a lake is that the growth rate of the stripers slows way down and the result is a whole lot of smaller fish. In Southern California lakes there is no size limit on stripers and the bag limit is 10 per person. Castaic lake is a good example how no size limit and higher bag limit helps keep the striper poppulation in check and increases the size of the fish that remain. The average size if striper in Lake Castaic is about 4 lbs. but it is a whole different story in the delta because the stripers are moving from the ocean into the rivers constantly and back out to the ocean they face a higher mortality rate than landlocked stripers. So they have to impose the size limit and lower bag limits.remember that stripers that are landlocked are at the top of the food chain but in the bay and outside the golden gate, they are not.

Most deadly because the amount of visitors and swimmers. Drownings and boat crashes.... rise during the holidays because the water fluctuates a lot. You can hit an island that wasn’t there the day before if you don’t know

In northern california the size limit is 18” and a bag limit if 2. In the southern california lakes where the stripers are landlocked there is no size limit and the bag limit is 10 per person. I think the regulations are the same in Nevada and Arizona. They loosen the size limit and bag limits because the striper populations in the lakes can get out of control in a big hurry. And the results overpopulation is smaller fish.
