Upon initial listening, most people will think that When the Leaves Turn Green is a song about a restless wanderer who is seeking answers to his or her life and will eventually return to that special person who is patiently awaiting.
There is an alternate esoteric meaning to this song which is hidden within the words. The title of the song When the Leaves Turn Green refers to a New Encoding Pattern called The Hun Follow the Shen Pattern. This is an advanced Esoteric Acupuncture treatment protocol.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the color green is associated with the liver system and refers to an imbalance in the liver system. But in the Hindu Chakra System, a green color is a positive sign and is associated with the Anahata (Heart Chakra). Leaves turning green refers to the springtime, which is the time of the liver in Chinese Medicine. Springtime is the time of vitality, excitement and freshness in the air. In Nature, springtime is the season of fertility, new energies and time for cleansing and shedding the sluggishness and old energies associated with the winter.
Some schools of thought on acupuncture theory feel that the liver is “The General” and is sometimes thought of as a bully. (The bully is an immature liver system. with an excess of anger) There is a Chinese medical syndrome known as Wood (liver) Attacks Earth (stomach) referring to symptoms such as nausea, belching, hiccups, vomiting and acid regurgitation. A balanced liver system allows qi (energy) to flow smoothly through the acupuncture meridians and throughout the whole body. The liver also controls eyesight.
The leaves turning green refers to the maturation of the liver system and the awakening of the soul (Hun) so it no longer feels the need to be the bully or the general in charge. In the Chinese Five Element Theory, wood (liver) feeds into fire (heart) implying that the energies of liver greatly influence the heart.
The words “there are some things left that I must do to find out just who I am” refers to a person seeking clarity on his or her inner truths. Only when the liver system is mature enough to recognize the power of the heart. plus that person is able to “see” will the liver actually bow down to the heart system, which is the Empress. “When the leaves turn green I’ll be coming home” means that the soul (liver) has both matured and awakened and will return to the Higher Shen (heart consciousness), which is the True Home. The masculine recognizes and honors the feminine.
In Esoteric Acupuncture, the definitions of both the Hun the Shen have been greatly expanded to refer to extremely refined frequencies of consciousness.The consciousness of Original Shen came before the consciousness of Original Hun, thus the Hun Follows the Shen.
The Hun is thought of as the ethereal soul, which means that this aspect of the soul does not decease with the expiration of the physical vehicle such as that of the corporeal soul which expires with the death of the physical body. Shen is a word in Traditional Chinese Medical referring to both mind and spirit. In Chinese Medicine, spirit is associated with the heart system.
