Matthew 21:28-32 ~ The parable of two sons ~ An interesting parable. I am not sure I interpreted it right, and I would love your comments to add to the meaning of God's Words in this parable. I take it when the Master calls, we should humbly and obediently do His work! Not begrudgenly, or when we feel like it. Because it just might be too late when we finally feel like complying. Thank you, my friends in Christ for adding to the thoughts of His Good News! God bless you all!
Today's host flower is wild bergamot (Monarda fistuolsa), a light lavender flower that I did not know until just now that it is not the same as bee balm (Monarda didyma). They are very similar, and in the same Monarda genus, but wild bergamot is more attractive to bees and a greater variety of butterflies, and they both attract hummingbirds. The wild bergamot is very drought tolerant and thrives in poor soils, full sun, and will survive hot summers where it is well drained. Besides this gorgeous light lavender, it comes in pink and purple. It grows in all the continental United States except California, Neveda and Florida. With climate change and hotter temperatures, I am assuming that range may be changing, sadly.
Today's chores are spot watering the transplants ~ guara, pale pink coneflower, Shasta daisy, blue vervain, phenomenal lavender, black-eye Susan, early sunflower, coral honeysuckle, rosemary, maxima black-eye Susan, milkweed, coneflowers, lemon balm, lamb's ear, wood betony, and the mystery plant, the hydrangeas, the hosta, elderberry bushes, the button bush cinnamon ferns, and dwarf gardenia. Hopefully they will survive to tomorrow, my next opportunity to water them. I raked up magnolia leaves and used them for mulch around some that had mineral mulch, which I had read is a recommended mulch (rocks?!) Well, in this heat and drought, I think the rocks need to be covered up to keep things a bit cooler. Just sayin'! Just trying to help them live to see one more day!
If there is one sermon everyone should listen to, it is this one, • Video ~ by Pastor Loran Livingston, from Central Church of God, in Charlotte, NC. He has recently gone viral with a short clip of a sermon, but this one, with the theme, "How far behind are you following," is a perfect message for each person to hear, especially a Christian! I encourage you to listen and, perhaps listen again. I am keeping this one on speed-dial!
Would like to share His Gospel with others? Then I will eagerly support and encourage you! Start by praying and see where you go! Revelations 3:7b, What God opens, no man can shut, and what God closes, no man can open! When we are standing before such a mighty God as this, and His Holy Spirit will be with us, guiding and directing us, we will not fail! Harvesting for God can simply be reading His Holy Word and/or offering personal experiences or wisdom you have learned and earned through your life. Or it could be as creative and imaginative as God sends you ~ maybe even a garage band creating "Garage Gospel"! Remember, benefits are out of this world, in paradise! God bless you, my friend!

BTW. Mike is doing okay. Of course there is pain. But he is handling it pretty good. The gas they pumped into his abdomen is coming back out. It takes about 3 days for all of it to dissipate. He is doing all right for now. When he had to go back on his heart meds they make him so breathless. I wish he did not have to take that. Lexi is helping. lol

I'm glad he has survived the first day or so! I'm keeping the prayers coming and going for both of you! Do you still have to keep up with his blood pressure? Wow, is he lucky and blessed to have you rooting for him and taking his temp and all the other stats! Boy, do I know how that pressure is. I hope he can expel it quickly! i have it all the time, maybe i swallow excessive air every time I breathe, talk, and eat. I don't know, but sometimes, it gets so bad it is really painful and nonstop "man-burping." I could rival a 300-pound liinebacker! Try pressing on his back on the left side, about midway. I know this sounds like a hoax, but it works for me. It may take a bit to find the right spot, but it helps! Also, if he raises his arms, better yet, if he can raise them and rest them on something sturdy, like a shower curtain rod if it is secure, that will help. But I probably shouldn't be giving advice! He has stitches and all that, so maybe none of my suggestions are very good for his situation. Believe me, I have been dealing with this for decades and it is really embarrassing. If he can make it the next 2 days or so, maybe he will never be bothered by it again! I hope so! God bless you both and hang in there!

@@ATouchOfTheSun If he could get rid of all of it by just burping or passing gas that would not be bad. But this gas they use is osmotic. It can go thru bone, muscle and skin. You can feel it coming out from your shoulders and parts down under. (an I don't mean Aussie_. I thought the pain for him would be worse. BP is an automatic. All I have to do is watch it. And record it. If it would go below 50 diastolic we have to call the hospital. It has been good 103 over 64. That is where it should be. Thank you my dear sister/angel for prayers and for being you. I could tell you anything. It is so good to have a friend like you again.Love and hugs, GBY

My daughter was the second. Tell them what they want to hear but never really do it. I guess there were errant kids back then too. If you don't mean it you are NOT saved. Jesus knows our hearts. But the kid who said no, actually did it. (my older daughter). She took it upon herself to move in with us to help us out. She could move out anytime. But she loves us. God bless you. They look like Marigolds, the red and gold flowers. I love others and help when I can. My hubby is saying we feed ourselves first. We eat just fine. Helping others when you can do it is our commission to the Lord. If He wants me to help others, then we shall. God bless and keep you my dear sister. Love and prayers.

Your boldest daughter sounds like a great child of God! I am glad you have someone to watch over you guys! She is working as God directs her, with a heart of God's love. She sounds like a blessing! Hopefully with her help, you will be able to stay in your home as long as you want to, instead of having to move to an unfamiliar place, leaving behind everything you are used to and love. She has created the bird sanctuary around you, too, right? I think that is wonderful and assuring to you and Mike! This parable, the last part of it, Jesus telling them the prostitutes and tax collectors will make it sooner, than the disciples was confusing to me, even my husband. But I guess once we are exposed to the parable, His Word will grow in us and we will understand it by and by. The part that the father wanted his sons to go work in the VINYARD should have been another part of the story that I didn't catch. Thanks for adding your thoughts to the Good News! We have been gone taking care of Rick's mom today, and sorry this is so late getting out! Love and prayers, sister!

@@ATouchOfTheSun Never be sorry for doing for your family first. That is and always should be your top priority, next to God. I am your sister too, but answering a message on YT is not as important as taking care of your own. My dad used to say in his inelegant way that a man must feed his own family before feeding all the other hungry people in the world. If that were the general feeling today, we would not have to have special money paid out to the poor. The rich would share and everyone has something. I guess that sounds communist but it is the basis for a perfect society. IF EVERYONE was in the same frame of mind. But there will always be those who say. This is my money I earned it. I am keeping all of it and I won't share it with anyone. Every human is equal in God's eyes. HOWEVER, that is NOT true her on Earth We are hard wired to give to ourselves rather than anyone else. We all feel generous until they knock on your door and ask you to help a lady down the street who lost her husband and is trying to raise a child alone. Suppose one city block did this. Those that had more than they need gave a little to the family who had NONE. Think of the billions of tax dollars not spent because people knew that everything we think WE OWN is really GOD's. Imagine everyone helping everyone else, no hatred, no hurtful comments. no prejudice. But if we COULD do that, we would not need Jesus. He makes up for all of our sins because we could not. Jesus is everything. Love and thanks for prayers and care/ GBY L-J

@@JJDigitalartStudioAll we have is God's; you're right. We give to charities as much as we can, and to our church, which we really haven't been to since Covid. Both of our hearts desires to help others as much as we can. How can a Christian have it any other way? I think anything other than looking out for your brother and sister is not doing God's will. Shouldn't we all be sharing what God so graciously give? You have a very generous and great heart. If more people had your philosophy, there would surely be less hunger in the world. Maybe even no hungry child! God bless you, sister!

@@ATouchOfTheSun The thing is, there are others like me. But they get outnumbered by those who say, forget the poor and starving. It is nature. The strong one wins. In the animal world this is true. But with humans it is not. Jesus told them not to pay attention to the rich among you, they have their reward. Those who are begging and disabled need help. I help support an orphanage in Kenya. We do. My friend from California started it. I am a contributor. I help my God daughter with her salon. We love them and we have the means and we help only when they did nothing to cause a problem. I don't want to give junkies money for dope or booze. But I will help them get to a place where they can get off the stuff and get sober. They will someday be people who contribute too. If we do not help others this society will surely fail.
