Part of what makes the Pentatonix sound so amazing is the swell you are talking about although its not the tempo thats moving its the dynamic of each voice crescendo decrescendo inside each note that makes it sound that way. Scott, Mitch and Kirsti are really good at it as was Avi. Matt is getting much better as he integrates into the group and Kevin crap Kevin is my musical hero he can do anything.
The editor had to put 5 totally separate recordings together of people that harmonized without hearing each other sing. Then he had to put 5 different videos shot from 5 different houses and make them sound and look excellent.
The entire "At Home" EP is covers: Home (medley of 13 songs), Blinding Lights (The Weeknd), when the partys over (Billie Eilish), Break My Heart (Dua Lipa), Cologne (Clean Bandit), Dreams (The Cranberries). But their newest release "Happy Now" is an original PTX song from their upcoming original album
Yeah, that’s my bad for being over anxious and not researching before I reacted. Unfortunately I pre recorded a few covers before I realized what was going on. I’ll definitely do better in the future.
Great reaction! I liked how you pointed out so many subtleties. I look forward to your next PTX reaction. I agree! I like the Beatles, too. PTX is no. 1 on my list. Thank you!
Their Harmonys make me completely break down! You are only seeing the tip of the iceberg here, I have really been enjoying your reactions! Welcome new Pentaholic! Believe me, it only gets better, just when you think "they can't top that" they will blow your mind! Definitely helped me through some really hard times!
@@microreactions799 I'm sorry I underestimated you! my apologies. I really would like to see your reaction to Superfruit, Mitch and Scott do great with the Frozen Medly and Defying Gravity! Keep up the great work, love ya brother!
I like your style of reaction. I realize you like Avi's voice. I always felt that Avi was an amazing bass, however, I was not too enchanted with his upper range and style of singing. Matt, in comparison, I find I like his soulful singing in upper area but find his bass great but nowhere near as powerful as Avi. All have their strengths and weaknesses. All are beautiful when compared to just about anyone else.
Beautifully put. Matt is great! When I first found PTX I fell in love with them so hard it was borderline unhealthy how long I watched them each day. I then started getting busier in life and had less time to watch. That was exactly the time Avi had left the band. I think it’s just circumstance the way I feel. Also, I’m so glad you like my style!
Avi is a mf’in legend.. but I actually prefer them with Matt. It’s like he gave them a new soul. Or (as I saw written) it’s like he brought that .. ahem.. “big dick energy”. Forgive the phrase, but it’s the perfect way to describe it.
At this point we're coming up on three years that Matt's been with the group. I feel disappointed and kind of a knot in my gut waiting for the reactor to compare Matt to Avi after all this time. I can understand people's feelings but I'd like to react to Pentatonix work that they're doing in the video that's being reacted to without comparing them to a member that left and is enjoying his own success. I would never dream of going to an Avi Kaplan music video and saying I prefer Matt which isn't the truth. I love them both but for very different reasons. The point is Matt's earned his place and AVI has another Channel where we could go and listen to what he's doing and be respectful of both artists? I think about what it must feel like to be Matt and constantly be compared and found to be lacking by reactors because he brings things to the group that Avi couldn't bring and the opposite is true as well. I will always miss Avi but I am very glad that I got to meet Matt and I love that young man and everything he stands for and for always having that bright, up-beat spirit coming against such odds at only 23 years old. I love the skills that are his own that he brings to the group. I'm a patron and I believe in this group and all of the members.
@@mecfstraveler very well said. How I feel myself except that I still have to bring myself to enjoy fully Avi's music..well maybe depends on my mood. But PTX music whether it's with Avi or Matt, I can listen to any time
You'll definitely like Dreams. Amazing. Break My Heart is more of a fun song and Cologne is kind of a throwback, I can't wait to see what you say to that. And, man, Happy Now! I don't know if you've been to any of their shows last year, so maybe you've heard it, but the music video is definitely worth reacting to anyway just in itself. It was directed by the same guy that did some of the Superfruit music videos, so it's just a visual treat :).
I’ve already reacted to those songs apart from Cologne and they will be coming out within a day or so! Be sure to hit that sub button to check them out! Also, Cologne will be the next one I check out! Thanks for the suggestion!
For what they do, PTX is the best but they’re not the Beatles. Their evolution, their catalog, their longevity yet short career. No, there’s no comparison overall but yes PTX are great & at the top by a mile. I’ve watched/listened to other a cappella groups and they don’t come close. Nice reaction
Appreciate the insights from a musician especially those technical ones. Different reaction I get from reactors here and there. Subbed! Let's watch your subs swell as well! 🇵🇭
