this is the scene where the other shinkengers go to get takeru back from fighting against juuzou and when they convince him that he matters to them as a comrade and their lord, and isn't nothing.
After keeping up the standoffish act for so long, seeing Takeru finally letting himself be vulnerable in front of the others and letting go of all that pent up emotion was so unbelievably cathartic, this scene is my favorite in all of Sentai and it exemplifies why Shinkenger is my favorite season, the characters not only feel genuine, but so do their relationships, even if Takeru’s relationships with them were built upon a lie, the connections he made with them were true, they didn’t just feel like a team by the end, they felt like a family that truly loved one another for who each other was
I actually like the dodge line. It’s a nice call back to Chiaki’s first spotlight episode where he had to learn about being able to dodge the enemy’s attack to which he didn’t and came up with another way. Takeru was the one who made him learn how to and made him do so as his lord so for him to still dodge shows how much of the Takeru he knows is still there so the fact that he didn’t dodge the second time because Chiaki said so shows how he doesn’t recognize that subconsciously he’s still the same despite his claims to say he’s not their lord anymore.
Agreed! The powerful feeling of friendship and love. Even tho he lied to them from the beginning it was for a good cause and them denying to let him go and going after him when he is at his worst is just very beautiful. I cried during this scene.
Crazy that the actor that played Takeru (Tori Matsuzaka) is now a huge movie celebrity in Japan. He is worth so much more that’s why they didn’t got him for the Shinkenger special cameo episode in Gokaiger. I’m glad things went well for him because i remember him saying when he was filming Shinkenger he didn’t had a place to live and was very broke.
@@idansentai.crafts612 yes! theres interviews I’ve read about it online. He said that new and young actors don’t get paid well enough, also that superhero shows don’t pay as much. Shinkenger was his first major role, it wasn’t going the way he thought so he initially planned to quit acting after Shinkenger finished filming but he somehow managed to keep acting and now he is a very famous wealthy actor. I’m happy he decided to stay acting after all.
@@joelquiroz94 yes, homeless, friendless, and he has next to no money, he claimed that he can only eat rice and must fill up with lots of water and playing Takeru taught him a lot.
Ahh... Shinkenger. one of my favorite sentai. it was a dark and emotional season. We need more seasons like these! This scene was very powerful! Kudos to Toei for hiring actors that can actually act!
I think Genta should be here, since he’s Takeru’s childhood friend and become ShinkenGold just to help him out. (And he came back to help not a lord, but his Childhood friend, Takeru)
Personally we already knew what genta would be, the best place for him at that moment was with korou showing her the samauri way was not the only way and fighting with her despite not being a real samurai in her eyes.
Aster Phoenix If they were going to make Takeru the real head in the end, then why did the introduce Kaoru in the first place? And if he was never originally part of the Shiba clan(That's how I understood it), shouldn't that mean that Shiba isn't Takeru's real surname. As good as this was I just never really understood that
Well, in my opinion...I'd say the top 10 best sentai reds that I've seen so far are 1) Yusuke Amamiya (Red Falcon) 2) Captain Marvelous (Gokai Red) 3) Ryou (Ryuuranger) 4) Sasuke (Ninja Red) 5) Chief Akashi (Bouken Red) 6) Shiba Takeru (Shinken Red) & Shiba Kaoru (Shinken Red [Princess]) 7) Alata (Gosei Red) 8) Kenta Date (Mega Red) 9) Tatsuya Asami (Time Red) 10) Ryouma (Ginga Red) Now for my top 10 best red Power Rangers: 1) Carter Grayson 2) Scott Truman 3) TJ Johnson 4) Jason Lee Scott (TV version, I haven't seen the movie reboot yet!) 5) Lauren 6) Jack Landors 7) Tyler Navarro 8) Leo Corbett 9) Wes Collins 10) Shane Clarke Honorable Mentions: -Connor McKnight -Casey Rhodes -Kai Ozu -Akagi Nobuo
Just watched this whole sequence in PRS to see how it compared. Very, *very* disappointing. Power Rangers always fail big time when compared to Sentai.
Part of the reason is in Samurai.......the lie isn't even that big of a deal, infact with succession laws being closer to Samurai times it wouldn't have been an issue there. Why the lie works here isn't just down to the acting, but that Takeru was NOT a Shiba by blood and thus the lie carries far more weight. In Samurai for some bizzare reason during the shot for shot adapation they DIDN'T do this and the "lie" loses all of it's weight and Jaden just comes across as some really whiney insecure little brother.
@@horaciosi PRiS is a notable exception. I don't know if I prefer it to Megaranger, but yeah, it was good. I think a big part of the reason why is that the writers really took their time to map out the whole season, rather than just making it up as they went along. It also helps that it's quite a bit different from the source material (which was less about space travel and more about computers), one can look at it as its own thing rather than just a straight adaptation. That can kind of hurt the show, or at least your perception of if you're familiar with the source show. For example: Time Force was good, but looking at it after seeing the original, it just feels like Timeranger Lite.
This is one of the things I don't like about Power rangers Samurai. They actually removed the whole "kagemusha"-thing in favor to make her his sister instead, that's just ruining an important part of the story. I find the whole part when he fights Juuzu and this one is very touching. Shinkenger is one of my biggest favorites in Super sentai.
I am late and I know I don’t watch super Sentai (cuz Idk how) but why do I feel so much emotion in this one scene, and I barely felt anything like that with power rangers Samurai. You guys are indeed right. Super Sentai can give you so much emotion that power rangers can’t. It feels like I’m watching anime when I see super Sentai Edit: I’ve been finished with Shinkenger. That’s one of my favorite Sentai series
Super Sentai seasons are usually more dark and emotional. This is because Super Sentai is aimed more for teenagers in Japan. with Power Rangers the main audience is elementary kids. That’s why they water down alot of stuff in Power Rangers. The reason why I enjoy Super Sentai alot better.
@@narutoninjagoandtheflashar4256 exactly! they don’t censor anything. Theres been times where Super Sentai seasons make sexual references and jokes. Power Rangers would never! lol
Ah my ultimate number 1 sentai serie !!! Even though I'm a lot older now I still watch shinkenger with all the different emotions that is shown in the serie and I still get those same feelings while watching the serie as when it just came out back in 2009. I remember first time I watched this scene I cried with Takaru. In my opinion for a sentai serie its top notch!
One of the many amazing scenes from shinkenger. One of the best sentai's in my opinion although I will say the villains were way less interesting than the heroes.
I think I saw someone say that his father was the younger twin to kaoru's father? which would make Shiba his family name, but the bloodline would pass to kaoru since her father was the older twin and thus the inheritor of the Shiba clan head and shinkenred. not sure if this is actually canon though, but it makes sense.
@@SamiR1114 it's not make sense because if it's true then he can also able to master sealing symbol but he didn't even tried and then Kaoru don't need to adopted him and in shinkenger it's is said that he isn't even a samurai so its not true
Difference between samurai and shinkenger In shinkenger takeru was no one he was just a fake a decoy for the real shinken red in order for her to master the sealing spell in comparison to samurai Jaydens sister was also the head of the shiba clan they both were in samurai if they died for Jayden they would have died for the head of the shiba clan In shinkenger if they died for takeru they would have died for a nobody a fake i feel like the bond they have with takeru how they see him as a friend is more impactful than samurai will ever bee
Even on episode 48, Chiaki Tani is wearing the Gotcha's Global Surf Travel sweater for the first time right on He can see as Takeru Shiba returns as The Nineteenth Heroic Head of Shinken Red as also the return to become the Lord!
If you were acting in a series where the character is supposed to be punch and you were the target would you want to recieve a real punch or would you rather move your face out of the way to make it seem like a punch happened?
I Don't Know, But Mike Never Punch Jayden and Kevin Will Never Raise His Voice Kinda Like I Am It's Not the Same Thing in the American Version It's Just Not Mother Freaking Fair
@@jordanthenickelodeonnickjrfan I like that Mike didn't punch Jayden and Kevin wasn't a dick, I outwrite hated how much of a dick Blue Ranger was in the Sentai version
@@jordanthenickelodeonnickjrfan And I like the way Xandered was finished off in Saban's version shogun Jayden destorys him That is something even Sentai fans agree with And in the second life fight the inside of the megazord looks more damaged campared to the Sentai version
While I prefer Saban's Power Rangers Samurai I will admit that Sentai has the better version of this scene I wish they had Jayden show this emotion and even have Jayden cry now that could have been a great moment in Saban's version but despite that... I still prefer Saban's version overall
