Firefighter/first responder mental health is a rising topic across the state as crews continue to see teammates struggle with the negative mental health impacts of their stressful jobs.
Indiana Department of Homeland Security Executive Director Joel Thacker, State Fire Marshal Steve Jones, Therapist and Former Firefighter Dr. Robert Smith, Pike Township Lt. Troy Clements and Professional Firefighters Union of Indiana President Tony Murray team up to promote the importance of mental health and actively try to sway the stigma surrounding getting help when firefighters need it.
The series begins with a discussion about the state of mental health in the firehouse.

Thank you for sharing! My opinion on why guys don't talk is the Chief sends them for psychological evaluation and test. If they fail then they are put off work for a undetermined amount of time. I have had it done to me at the Department I worked at. I'm so glad you all are bringing this to light. Thank all of you for what you do.
