Just as she was starting to feel like she was going to collapse from fear, Marco, her husband, rolled over in bed and spoke in a flat, detached tone, "What's keeping you awake?" Sophia hesitated, knowing that Marco wasn't one for sentimental displays of affection. But she couldn't help herself, she needed comfort. "The movie got to me," she admitted, trying to sound casual. Marco's response was a grunt, but to Sophia's surprise, he shifted closer and pulled her into a tight embrace. "You're safe," he said, his voice a little softer. "I won't let anything happen to you."
