Hi. I live in SE texas with a bermuda lawn. I want to try the split application but if that means halving the total amount allowed for the spring, will the low amounts being put down mean less barrier? I mean prodiamine max yearly rate is like 50lbs/yr per 10,000 sq ft, so it already only a little to spread compared to fertilizer. (I put preemergents down in late winter for spring weeds and then again in early fall for winter weeds. That equals a max useage yearly rate of 50lbs per 10,000 sq ft)Thank u.
great video i live in virginia last year planted bermuda first year not bad for first timer question i put down sunniland 0 0 7 start of spring if i do split and wait 90 days apply again when do i put down fertilizer 24-0-11 thanks
Thank you!! You can most definately apply the fert anytime between the split PreEmergent application. No need to time the two. Typically with all bermuda once it's greening up and there is no more sign of freeze/frost in the forecast you can get the first fert down.
Yes! You can use pre-emergent still. Even if temps are up it's better to get it down late than never to stop any further weed germination. If you can't find those brands in store, see if they have "Scotts Halts Crabgrass and Grassy Weed Preventer" It's another good product and would save you from having to order online. Thanks for watching!
@@mikeshomeandgarden Hey Mike thanks for your reply. I found a local store that sells Lesco. By the way what kind or brand of Fertilizer you recommend for Bermuda grass in Houston area. Thanks
@@mejungleeone this time of year, you'll want to hit the lawn w a weed and feed product. I'm not partial to a brand for it, I am using BioAdvance from Lowes, it was on sale. Scotts of course is popular, but Sunniland makes one too if you can find it. Here's a video on what fertilizer to use and when ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-whPDgdGdbhI.html
If you're putting PreEmergent down as 1 application in early spring and still seeing July crabgrass you could try the split! If you split between now and 10-12weeks out (late May/early June) it'll ensure the heat doesn't break down the active ingredient. Thanks for watching!
