Thank you for this video, Erinma❤ For me, I was born Catholic but I struggled with remaining one because some doctrines do not really align with what ive seen in the bible. For instance, I dont believe in the rosary. I dont want to marry a Catholic and start having quarrels and disagreements over these. I think it can become an issue when a man and a woman get married and start attendinb different churches.

Hi Erinma, thank you so much for addressing my question about the church thing. I figured I wasn't so clear with the question because I didn't give context to it. So, firstly, I am very picky with churches because I was born into a very religious church, but the basic and important things I needed for my life to improve were not taught or given to me there. So 6 years ago, I changed church and started attending one where I got to know more about Jesus and my life and character got better. I am that girl who can spend 1 hour on the road boarding 2 vehicles to get to my church and I wouldn't mind, because that is where my spirit is being fed. I follow other pastors online and I know that there are hundreds of other churches like mine all over the country. But somehow, I keep getting relationship advances from men who attend those other kind of churches. Not that they are not Bible believing churches o, but there are values and beliefs they hold onto that I'm not comfortable with. I like to serve God in a department in any church I attend, but I strongly feel like there's a kind of church I'll start attending and I will feel kinda repressed (like the one I was born into). To give just one example: a church which believes and upholds that trouser wearing for women is a sin. I don't believe that it is a sin and I don't see myself a part of such congregation that believes or thinks like that. It is okay for the people who go there, but it won't be okay for me. And I am currently not in any relationship. But this church issue started bothering me when I noticed I wasn't getting advances by men who attend my kind of church. And for the ones I've had to turn down, I turned them down because of other major flaws I couldn't deal with. But I can't help but wonder what I'd do if someone who I really really like comes my way but the only issue is church doctrinal differences. That was why I asked the question.

I think it's not necessary you go to same church in the relationship stage, his church should be one you have vetted spiritually and can attend after marriage. So if she doesn't believe in the church principles and standards, that is a good reason to say no. Overall, like you said, we are all one body, Jesus died on the cross for all Christians irrespective of the denominations, the same Lord is rich unto all.

i think its good she considers the doctrines of the Church if its in alignment with the doctrine of her own church, we know the Church is one, but most have beliefs and teachings that are not in agreement. its better to marry someone that you hhave similar teachings, it doesnt have to be the same church, but its smart to start making decisions that will help prevent issues in the marriage.

Doctrinal issues really can be a thing in relationships but requires the two persons to sit down to weigh the doctrines with the word of God because some doctrines are really not biblical.

I am a catholic, I don’t think I will be comfortable attending any other church outside Catholic Church because I can’t afford to miss taking the body and blood of Christ. I hope my future husband understands.

Speaking of must you marry someone from your church Erinma, in as much as it’s not bad to marry into another church there’s a story in the Bible about of the daughters of zelophehad having to pick from their tribe so they keep their inheritance. I personally would like to marry from my tribe (church) but I also believe in the calling of the lord so if he’s called me to be part of another tribe I wholeheartedly agree. But personally I would still like to marry from my tribe (church).
