I have the glass breakage sensor on a 10 foot ceiling directly above an all glass entry door. An intruder pried on the edge of the glass until it exploded and then ran right in and stole our cash drawer. The door was safety glass and the sensor never picked up the sound. I tested the sensor with regular window glass and it went off. Could it be that safety glass does not emit the pitch needed to set off the alarm?
I know this is an old comment, but I think I may be able to add something to your comment. In the video is a normal hammer and normal glass used and this work, but today does many thieves use another technique that still shatters the window but makes way less noise and i less dangerous for the thief to slip trough. The best glass break detectors use simple old fashion infrared light motion detector. You simply point the motion detector-beam on the glass and if the glass gets removed, broken or anything, then does the motion detector, detect the change in what it can see. :-)
Hello, The two products our tech is displaying in this video are both Hardwired, no encryption required. Other Panels and Wireless sensors have the capability of using encrypted wireless sensors, and will vary between the panel and sensor being used, Check for panel and sensor compatibility prior to any purchase. Most Intrusion Sensors installed have the ability to be bypassed from the control panel being used prior to arming the system.
