At first, I was totally sold by the results, great video! It makes perfect sense to clean up high ISO images before developing in Lightroom. In practice though, there is a definite downside: the DNG is simply a TIFF with a DNG wrapper, so we cannot use Adobe Color profiles or camera Linear profiles, just like when editing a Jpeg. I can accept a 4x bigger Raw file for the quality of noise reduction available here but the file generated by the RAW mode in Denoise simply is not a DNG file! I have read that Topaz are working on this particular point and hopefully a new version with a fully capable DNG generation engine will be developed soon. For all other purposes, DeNoise AI is a brilliant product.
I'm late to the party here as a new Topaz user and I was shocked as well that the DNG loses the ability to use raw profiles, including my custom-made linear profiles and X-Rite profiles. The results are very good using Edit In with a TIFF file, but the new "RAW Model" is worthless right now.
I use the TIFF files in DeNoise AI instead of JPEG after minor editing. The RAW I am still a little skeptical about. But I will try it more now. Thank you for the video!
Have you guys considered using the edited version but give an option for importing the raw version for a model that looks at both versions? This way both Lightroom and DeNoise AI can have access to the original RAW file.

Thank you . I have the full suite of Topaz except video . My renewal is due but I am holding back for the first time . Why did you use jpeg and not tiff ?? The reason I am holding off renewal is because I use a Fuji XT4 and shoot in raw . Other reviewers have said that you are not supporting Fuji raw in new raw mode . If this is true I am really angry and disappointed that as a loyal customer because if you do not support Fuji raw I am always thinking that there is something better and I cannot access it . Are you working on supporting Fuji raw or are you going to ignore Fuji users ?

Regarding supporting Fujifilm RAW files, I had mentioned the issue in another comment reply: "The issue has to do with the way the Fujifilm X-Trans sensor pattern is laid out compared to most other camera manufacturer who use the Bayer filter on their sensors. The X-Trans sensor adds a number of challenges and while we don't have a firm timeline for support, I do know that our developers are looking into it. I know it's not the exact answer you were probably hoping for, but I do want you to know that we are working on it." As for why I used a JPEG instead of a TIFF, it's mostly so that I wouldn't have to spend processing time editing a larger TIFF file for the video. If I were working on my photos for production purposes, I'd definitely export as TIFF or PSD.
Love your products and use them all the time. But, as a Fuji shooter I am disappointed that this new RAW tool will not work with Fuji RAW files - Is there a fix for this in the pipeline and future update?

@@topazlabs Historically, some companies, most notably Sony and Apple, have always gone out of their ways to make their products as totally incompatible with the other mainstream manufacturers as humanly possible - from product initial concept through realization. Their motives being to get you trapped in their ecosystems and never able to escape and, if you do contemplate a jail break, make it such a painful thought that you perish the thought almost before you think it. This is the reason I NEVER buy either Sony or Apple products nor will. Steve Jobs, incidentally was a very not nice man - based on the impression a friend of mine had of him after working with him and swearing he never would again. So, not surprising Apple is such a horror in that respect. Perhaps, Fugi had / has the same modus operandi in mind? Good reason not to patronize any of these three. Which brands of camera make your job of making Topaz products compatible are the easiest for you to work with? I am going to buy a new camera soon and would find this information very helpful. I love my Gigapixel, Denoise and Sharpen AI programs and wouldn't know what to do without them.
When I drag a RAW file from my Lr Classic and drop it over Denoise AI - the drop area turns blue and then nothing happens. I always have to search for the original RAW manually, which is very irritating. as I always have to investigate where my file is located on the disk. Is it the Mac version only that supports that feature?
I am having major difficulties with your software (DeNoise AI, Sharpen AI, and Gigapixel AI) on my 2021 M1 24" iMac. I recently migrated all my data from a 27" Intel i5 iMac to the new M1 imac and your software does not work properly as it did on my old iMac. This error keeps popping up no matter which AI processor I switch to. I have contacted Customer Help on your website and they have not provided a solution: "Processing Error Error loading model, please try again. If problem persists try switching to a different AI Processor in preferences."
I kept seeing that you should send the original RAW file to denoise but never until now seen that you can edit before doing so, my question on this is 'If you are sending a RAW file to denoise why do your editing before sending as you would or should get the original file back'? Don't expect an answer from Topaz Labs as like many RU-vidrs they churn out videos and then go onto the next one one without looking back. Thanks.
It's your lucky day, Russell, because I'm here to provide some clarity to your question. 😉 Regardless of whether you edit your RAW file first or not, if you send that RAW file to DeNoise AI, those edits will not transfer over. They will transfer over if you use the "Edit in..." workflow within Lightroom Classic or if you export the RAW file with the edits to another file format (JPG, TIFF, etc). I tend to edit my RAW files regardless just to see whether the post-processing makes the noise more visible. If the noise is egregious, then I will send the RAW file to DeNoise AI, apply the RAW mode, and sync the edits I originally made to the new DNG file. I hope that helps answer your question.
Hello, I have a 20 minute video but it keeps damaging the audio. It wont sync any help with this? Its like the program slow some parts . Its 480p to 1080p I tried adding the audio post production and it still wont sync. Very bummed since it render time was 10 hours
As you may know, there is a problem with 3.3.2. Some RAW files (eg. Canon .CR3), shot in vertical format, open only with the red channel. Topaz says they will issue another fix in version 3.3.3 within the next few days.

I bought your 3-program package special (10/10/21). Nothing is downloaded. I tried three times. And, your customer service is closed tomorrow, so it'll be Tuesday the 12th or the 13th before I get an answer. They're not under Photoshop Files, or on the desktop, or in documents. I tried three times. Have you had this problem before?
Is there even a fix coming for "Edit In" for Capture One? Seeing as how it used to work until the update, now "Edit In", DeNoise no longer brings over the changes back into Capture One!

@@topazlabs I installed v3.3.3 and it still is not bringing back changes into Capture One. In the change log it says "Fixed external editors not loading automatically on Windows" - "Mac still does not open external on various programs outside of Lightroom". I'm a Mac user so I'm guessing the issue has yet to be fixed in the current update.
Is there an easy way to bring the DeNoise DNG file into the same collection as the original raw file? I rarely work in folders, instead I rely on Collections.
Hmmmm... good question, Michel. If you're working with legacy Collections, then no, because they don't allow for any logic. Now, if you're using Smart Collections, it is possible to get the new DNG files added... BUT, you'd have to add whatever smart collection criteria you set to the DNG first. Does that make sense?
@@topazlabs thanks for the response. I think I have found a workflow that will work for me. When I am back in my collection I right click the original images and select show folder, and then continue from there, and finally add the newly imported photo to the collection
How can my DNGs returning from the raw model become 4 times larger? The original DNG file seems to be returned in a container that takes up the space on my disk for 4 normal DNG files. Why has this prominent change in volume never been addressed by Topaz. I reported that problem more than a year ago. It would help with an explanation of why this serious increase in size is necessary? It would also be more customer friendly, if Topaz would explain how the AI model works, and why it's such a slow learner. I would expect AI to develop exponentially, but with the last release of DeNoise AI there's no improvement of how white lines and artifacts are being applied along high contrast edges. It's still a pain to look at, when the sharpening should be subtle. And this leads to the problem with the sharpening slider. When using Low Light and I move the slider from 0 to 1 (it's a small fraction of the sliding width), then about 90 percent of the sharpening is introduced, and it's not visually increased from 2 to maximum. How is that to be understood? It would be nice with an index line.
You are probably running the program as Administrator while using a non-admin/regular Windows account. If you want to do drag & drop, you'll either have to run the program after being logged in as the Windows admin account first, or you'll have to install the software in a folder different than "Program Files" so that you can still use it fully without being the admin account.
@@WalterRiedinger I don't know either. I've asked the support staff at Topaz Labs about this multiple times and they are also aware of the issue, but nothing has been done so far. It's the only software I've used that has such issues.
@@bgtubber I waited several years for the localization of brush size hot keys for a non-English keyboards. They fixed it, but only in the Mask AI. So we'll wait. :)
That's correct, unfortunately. But, it is not something that we could control. As far as I can see, this is either a Microsoft or Adobe issue because the drag and drop method works as expected on MacOS. With that said, you can drag a RAW file from Windows Explorer onto DeNoise AI and that will work.
