The beginning of the year at Disneyland is much slower and provides a great time to visit. Many attractions can be closed for maintenance and there are not as many large shows. During spring break season, there is quite a bit to do in Disneyland. There is fantastic weather and nearly all of the shows run. This is a great time to visit Disneyland, but there will be crowds. Summer usually brings about a new promotion or opening of a new attraction. After summer ends, there is the fantastic Disneyland Halloween season and Disneyland Christmas season. These are all quite busy times of the year at Disneyland.

However, more important than what date to visit Disneyland is what time of day and week to visit. Many of the Disneyland patrons are Disneyland Annual Passholders. These people come late in the afternoon and on weekends. Thus, you will accomplish the most at Disneyland in the mornings and on weekdays.
The Anaheim Convention Center is also the biggest on the West Coast and is only getting bigger. When there are big conventions in town, it can really change the dynamics of the parks later in the day. There are special convention tickets that are sold giving access from 4 pm onwards.
