Salty DK Dan did this funnily enough. Once about himself and the second time against Boo Boo from Yogi Bear. Both of which reached trending. It is terribly fucked that these morons did this.
"there should be no space for bullying in this world" is such a disgruntled thing to say. Its a joke but in her perfect universe in your perfect universe these people who have lives humor should be what locked away? Brainwashed an reprogramed? For jokes? Think about the amount of power you would be giving up to people your freedoms of speech gone so people dont feel offended?
I love how stan twitter people act as if they're morally superior than anyone and then proceed to straight up bullying anyone who they don't like and call that "humor".
Literally, some memes are funny, but they're all really annoying, toxic, and a lot of the nb (non-black) people there use AAVE. The community is stupid.
@@jetsflyingoffatrain4338 But they're always in the middle of this kind of things, like wanting to out Shawn Mendes or harassing kpop idols to insane levels.
millie was a victim of the cycle of popularity. she blows up out of nowhere, everyone loves her…then suddenly everywhere i look she’s being made fun of. I remember there was a video called “millie bobby brown is annoying” and it had like 4m+ views. literally just clips of her at the age of 13-14 occasionally talking over people (as if we all haven’t done that before?) I think the video has been taken down but like how can you justify bullying a young girl just because she was acting like a young girl? just for entertainment? after the Twitter memes and mass hate she started to seem more subdued in interviews. I think it’s really sad because everybody used to love her personality and then suddenly everyone turned on her. always cool to hate the popular thing I guess. glad to see more people defending her.
Unfortunately it’s also children her age hating on her, which we can’t stop. Like imagine the difference between millions of adults saying she’s annoying vs millions of kids her age saying it. Neither one of the scenarios are okay, but I just hope those who hate on her get over their own insecurities n shit
@@blazereho811 100% agree. in fact I know that’s the reason because I’m slightly older than her and I found myself cringing at her dating Jacob Sartorious and watching these “annoying” compilations when I was like 14/15. I started to feel sympathy after the homophobic memes but I’m embarrassed that it took that long. I don’t know why I couldn’t put myself in her shoes despite being the same age as her. Now I look back and think that I couldn’t have handled all that hate and pressure at 14. teens want to feel cool and special while also fitting in, so they hate on the popular thing (joining a crowd while also feeling like they’re different). Adults definitely like to be contrarians too but kids and teens don’t understand the consequences of the internet quite yet. A lot of people grow out of this like I did but sadly I’m seeing a lot of 20-somethings act like this now.
@Stupid Snail exactly, but when they get called out they wanna say it’s dark humor or that humor is subjective. we really don’t give a fuck, that’s just embarrassing 💀
This is actually sick, I'm sure these people saying it's not that serious and it's just a joke would not appreciate or be able to handle this kind of harassment and assassination's of their character at 13 FREAKING YEARS OLD. I don't know how she deals with it, I hope she has a strong support system around her because she really seems like a sweet girl. Trolls on twitter will make a joke out of anything no matter how wrong it is.
The fact that people say that “It’s just dark humour” or “it’s just a joke” is disgusting… You don’t target a specific person that did nothing wrong, people should draw the line sometimes and think of how they would feel if the same happened to them…
@@_blank-_ Maybe you are a homophobic icon? Having an irrational fear does not make you a bad person. "Phobia" is an "irrational fear". That would mean you're mentally unwell though.
I feel so bad because I find these memes hilarious but I understand it's harassment. I can't imagine how awful she must've felt, especially being so young.
Same. I made the jokes pretty recently but decided not to participate anymore. They're still the funniest thing to me. I don't think it makes you bad person to find them funny if you find the humor from its absurdism, but engaging with the jokes is bullying.
Not to make it seem like I’m a saint, because jfc I’m not, but I always felt bad about them. I found them funny at first when the video about Finn getting annoyed at Millie Bobby Brown was still up (I think this video is gone now), and I don’t remember I might’ve even participated. But then I realized it was bullying when Millie appeared in a new interview where she looked more closed off. I felt so bad now I never feel good about any memes about her. So seeing these memes abt her being homophobic, and people straight up insulting her, I didn’t believe them immediately because the possible damage these accusations might bring her was rooted in my mind. So I tried asking people around me what’s up with the memes, and they said it’s because she was homophobic and proceeds to give out “proofs” that don’t make sense at all. I’m just glad people are starting to open their eyes now.
Its not borderline bullying and harassment, this is literally bullying and harassment. You could even go further by saying its defamation since a lot of people ended up believing some of the fucked up shit people made up about her. The sad part ist the moment you even question the stuff ppl say or defend her you immediately become a stan and nothing else. I'm sorry but have some of them ever heard something called human decency??
@@Lazulite I said borderline because I have my own opinions about this topic and I have to admit I can't see memes as bullying, but I understand Millie feels different about it. I mean, she was just a kid. I feel so terrible.
My sibling literally just said a joke like this to me like a week ago and I was like "why do you think homophobia and bullying little kids is funny tho" and their response was "well it's just a meme everyone says, i don't think she really is homophobic, tiktok is weird" people literally just don't realize that they're participating in bullying behavior because they see a whole group of people having fun and don't stop to think about the implications or the possible ramifications of telling a "harmless" joke like that.
I remember seeing the memes late (maybe a year or two ago) and I thought people were making jokes based off of something homophobic that she ACTUALLY said... so I was definitely part of the unfortunate group of people who didn't know it all started from trolling.
I also read comments of people who believed it to be true and I just didn't bother to research much. I didn't necessarily believe it, I thought someone had twisted her words in some way or something. That it stems from this sort of harassment is so sad. Especially since she also got so much shit for "being annoying"..
Same I feel so bad :((( I often try to look up things before coming to any conclusions but since I saw ppl that I knew also taking part in it I thought it's perhaps coming from a true thing? That's not to mention I had no clue of her age... imo no kid should ever experience bullying even if they mess up, because harassment is absolutely not how you get anyone to learn from their mistakes and issues. Really ashamed of it all I hope it didn't affect millie too much
Yes totally. And I think a great rule of humor/comedy is that if you don’t know how to turn it off and be genuine when you need to, then you are simply an asshole and a sociopath. All great comedians have a genuine side to them thats what makes their dark humor and satire work, because they more often than not understand the implications of their jokes and where they are coming from.
@@retardman5193 by itself I don't think there is anything wrong with it, but sadly what happened because of make it unfunny for me tbh. If people took a hint and stopped then it would be fine imo but things like that don't just stop once on the internet. Lucky that the girl handled it as well as she did, many young teenagers could easily end up in a much worse state
i think the reason why people kept pressing on the homophobia is because she ACCIDENTALLY said the d-slur while making a ship name for Dustin and Mike (Stranger Things)
honestly the whole reclaiming thing boils my blood. in what way is harassing a CHILD "reclaiming" anything? why would you even want to make jokes ruining a 14 year olds reputation and image by alleging she ran over lgbt people with a car?? like, you being a member of a marginalized community already under great scrutiny, why would y'all wanna make such horrible lies about a child like this? reclaiming shit is so counterintuitive when it's at the expense of other people.
Being concerned about if a gay person made the meme bc it's using slurs rather than focusing on the relentless defaming of a child is a top tier twitter moment
Even besides this (which is so unkind), it's really weird the way people treat her in general. Like grown adults here on RU-vid making videos about how much they hate MBB with out of context clips or clips of her just... being an exciteable teenager. It's really weird. I'm not sure where the resentment came from.
For real. And the way they gain so much popularity and supporters is just so mind-boggling. How and why? I thought people are understanding just how damaging these things are to a person’s mental health now. But I guess they only do when it’s somehow related to their own sufferings or if it’s directed at them. Otherwise, they give little to no fucks.
Unfortunately, teenage girls are absolutely the prime target for wide-spread mockery/resentment like this - (especially from grown men which just makes it 10x worse) - anything that teenage girls participate in and love, or them just existing, is likely to be looked down upon and made fun of. There's a few videos I've seen on the subject, but just consider the way Twilight was seen and joked about, or One Direction and their fans, or the "justgirlythings" memes.. Then proceed to compare to content mostly consumed by/made for teenage boys and how it is seen in media (my subjective example would be most superhero movies, particularly the Sam Raimi Spiderman trilogy - it's not touted as stupid and cringy, it's being hailed as this forgotten and underappreciated masterpiece of cinematic media) and how it's spoken about. If a teenage girl enjoys girly things, she's an attention seeking bimbo e-girl, if she's tomboyish, likes literature, art or philosophy or anything along those lines then she's labeled as trying to be "not like other girls" (unlike teenage boys who read one Friedrich Nietzsche book, then maybe some Plato and now they're "intellectuals" - but tbf guys like that get clowned on the internet anyway nowadays) if she likes a certain band then she needs to name at least 5 songs to be an actual fan, but if a boy likes that band they're pursuing their creative outlets, etc etc. The examples are countless... But I think you get what I'm trying to say.
probably because millie currently has an entire girlboss empire at a young age and these ppl will never have half her money or fame the moment they reach their deathbeds
i feel so bad. i’m autistic so i’m really bad with sarcasm. i thought she was actually homophobic. i didn’t post anything but i feel bad for just believing any of it.
Mistaking rumors for reality happens to the best of us, especially with so much disinformation and misinformation being spread around on the Internet these days. The people participating in the bullying are the ones who should feel bad.
No I think people who weren’t sharing the memes and were upset at straight people sharing the homophobic ones are absolutely right, that’s weird... this ENTIRE thing was ugly, she never deserved any of it
the idea of a 13 year old girl being so openly homophobic on social media and showing more remorse is a great example of absurdist humour but since it's attached to an actual child it was really messed up
literally drove her off of twitter years ago and she’s expressed a billion times that it makes her uncomfortable. she even brought it up to me at a meet and greet if i’ve seen the “twitter stuff.” :( she is the last person to deserve this.
Millie Bobbi Brown was born only a few hours after me in the same hospital. We were both in the nursery and she literally climbed out of her bassinet and tried to choke me out with a diaper. I’m still scared of diapers 😭😭
in my opinion the meme started off super hilarious and it should’ve stayed strictly a twitter thing because it was so ridiculous and over exaggerated, but then clearly it devolved into actual haters using it as an opportunity to screw with her once it became mainstream. and the people being proud of bullying her off the platform are really sick?? when your joke goes too far you’re not supposed to be proud of it
I really despise trolls. I don't understand why they do this. She was 13 and no one deserves this and now people think she's actually rude but don't even know her! That first troll account deserves they're platform taken away and put in prison for defamation. I don't care if prison is harsh, they've earned it. The fact that some of these comments call the meme funny is actually disgusting. It's funny until it happens to you.
@d b Snowflake I'am then. A thirteen year old was bullied as a "joke" and it led to people believing it and her having to go through hell. Her career might have been ruined and her mental health destroyed. This wasn't a joke anymore, it was bullying.😒
Look at all the *eDgY* replies In this comment section who were probably part of the shitty movement.Damn people really have to be down bad . Imagine being so sad you think bullying a minor is funny😬
I understand why people find the tiktok memes about her funny, but I hate when people take those light jokes too seriously and start to attack her as a person for something that she didn't even do. I've seen a lot of tiktoks where people say Millie give them "bad vibes" and I think it's ridiculous since it's mainly founded on a goddamn meme. She's a child and she doesn't deserve this
That's so true. I mean it's bad enough when someone your age is saying they don't like you as a person, but when fully grown adults start attacking you? I mean that's just something else. I really feel bad for her.
yeah. if ur on tiktok or twitter, u also have access to the tons of info available on google. Do your fucking research before attacking someone. You could be hurting an innocent person. In this case it's even worse, bcs she's a child.
I don't like how some people define others by their vibes instead of seeking concrete evidence to know if the person is good or not. Vibes doesn't tell the whole story. I used to hate someone for no reason because they gave me bad vibes. I used to think my introverted friend us a snob because he is so quiet and avoid people. But once I knew him, he's actually very sweet and kind, he avoid people because he's easily drained by others' energy. I'm so ashamed of myself and I hope everyone don't make the same mistake.
@@jrs8301 i feel like when ppl say someone gives them “bad vibes” they either js say it bc of some stupid shit they saw or heard or truly believe it. bc as a person who’s introverted and likes to avoid people in general, it’s actually very hurtful when multiple ppl treated me like shit bc they thought i was a bitch by just how i looked and they were the same ppl who gave me bad vibes. truly myself, when i say something abt someone’s vibes, i base it on a gut feeling but at the same time i don’t think very harshly of it, i mostly discard any feelings of them, whether it be positive or negative. i more feel neutral of them until i see and hear from them myself on how they are
@@jade-zd2vy I'm sorry that people treat you like that. I think as long you don't treat the person like garbage because of their vibes, it's fine. Cause some people rely heavily on vibe.
I honestly don't know why me and my friends found the thought of her being homophobic so funny. It's similar to the Raini Rodriguez thing where we thought it was funny in the moment cause it was so our kind of humor but never really thought about how these were just young girls that were being bullied relentlessly, because the stan twitter girls & gays love to play out their mean girl fantasies
I think in concept it’s funny; I definitely understand how the idea of something so absurd can make you snort because at first I did, too. But two things can be true at once so it’s definitely important to focus on how creating a lot of these memes with a literal child’s face on it and spreading this idea as a “joke” can do some serious damage. I think it’s okay to laugh at the idea behind the joke but definitely not how it was executed or how it made that poor girl feel :(
I was walking to my spaceship one afternoon when Millie Bobby Brown jumped out of the bushes and told me to go back where I came from... These xenophobic remarks really hurt me. -E.T
Damn I didn't even know this meme existed. I don't have a Twitter account and don't think I ever will. I'm permanently socially distancing from Twitter. Just too much negativity. Millie Bobby Brown deserves better, can't believe people would stoop so low. Glad to see another video from you! It seems that you're just growing and growing in subs! Good luck and can't wait for your next video!
I think the original post is funny. It’s so obviously fake, especially after the OPs first reply, that it’s clearly just a dumb joke and if it had been left at that it would be fine. But people always take things way too far and once it started getting into serious accusations of homophobia, they should’ve known what they were doing was wrong. And people are so unoriginal that they see one funny joke and rehash it over and over again until it is just straight up harassment
It's ironic that the joke is supposed to be empowering for gay people.....while simultaneously bullying and putting down a completely innocent person?????? like....MAKE IT MAKE SENSE. Y'all are no better than the people who gave you shit for who you are, you're just picking on a weaker target.
help?? not you blaming gay ppl for a stan twitter meme which may or may not have even included lgbtq+ ppl making fun of millie. you thought you ate that? i get what you’re trying to say, but the way you worded this and tried to force the whole joke on lgbtq+ ppl - as if straight ppl aren’t participating in this “joke” as well- is weird. in the video he literally says & shows ss of some straight ppl helping spin the “joke” out of control. it is weird af for you to blame it all on lgbtq+ & relate this to them wanting to be accepted? girl huh? 💀
@@iconictiktoks5586 yeah I’m 99% sure they’re referring to “gay people” as in the lgbt+ users who were trying to reclaim the f slur this way (or however he worded it in the video). I don’t think they’re referring to the entire LGBT community, just those who fit the criteria of being gay and participating in the bullying of an innocent child. And if I’m wrong and they ARE talking about the entire LGBT community then they’re fucking stupid bc how can an entire group of people be exactly the same as one another lmfao just bc a couple are bad apples doesn’t mean the whole orchard is rotten
@@blazereho811 that was my point. like the way they worded it made it seem like they were trying to force the whole joke on lgbtq+ ppl. like obvi it wasn’t just us or all of us, help. 💀💀 i wasn’t trying to go off on her i was just trying to point out this was worded very strange.
Not you talking this opportunity to try to put the blame on lgbt people, trying to defame us and make us look bad, and act as though that we're the one that started the joke, when in reality YOU KNOW that this isn't lgbt exclusive.
This makes me sad. The fact that this started in 2017 and it's still going is insane. I see ppl making jokes about MBB every now and then on TikTok. I've never seen any meme last as long as this one and for what? Why is bullying and ruining the image of (at the time when this started) a 13 year old girl so funny to people?
I think that people who defend bullying with the "it's just dark humor" excuse are the cancer of society and gross me the hell out. Like, it's a 14 yo girl. And the joke is not even funny 🥴 literally get a job. I applaud Millie for how maturely she handled this situation.
You don't seem to be aware of what bullying is, do you? Bullying involves intimidation, threats, and abuse, with synonyms like tyrannise and oppress. The meme is problematic--very problematic at that--in multiple ways, but not only are you not helping Brown by lying about what happened but you're actually doing a disservice. Your logic of calling it bullying, which is obviously dramatic and figurative, is equivalent to a woman claiming she got m*lested because a man accidentally bumped into her and made contact with her body. You want to talk about other people being cancer, but yet: - you're using cancer as a pejorative, which is a problem - you're lying about bullying, a serious act, simply because you're triggered. Are you the type to say you got sexually assaulted because a man accidentally bumped into you on the metro? - being unemployed is now an insult? In this climate of c*vid? You're kidding, right? You're this triggered by someone having a different sense of humour than you? Particularly with the poor argument you presented to explain yourself? Her age, as well as other stuff, is part of what makes the meme funny; because it's unrealistic. I find the meme funny, and you can die mad about it.
@@snowpoler they're mad because people are bashing at the one thing they like to do, harrassing and bullying, they can try to overlay it with "it's just a meme" "it's only shitposting" or whatever but really it's just a pathetic excuse because they're mad that action is being made.
too much internet just erode’s people’s capacity to empathize and their perception of reality. Twitter specifically desensitizes everyone to bullying and abuse. people who get excited to harass others on the internet are extremely detached from the real world. they don’t know how or when to take a step back. they’re all trying to impress each other by saying the most outlandish, absurd things possible for attention. very pathetic and cult-like.
This!! The worst part is that they viewed an actual 13 year old girl as a character to slander and then turned around and tried to play victim when it was obvious she was hurt by it given that she left social media altogether. Dark humour isn't bullying a child and playing victim. And if it centers another person, have it be about fictional characters or at least adults who are in on the joke. They never saw her as human in the first place and never once reflected on how their 'jokes' genuinely hurt her.
i feel like what really took it out of the black humour zone is that it went from far-fetched, ridiculous and obviously fake stories about a child actor terrorist to just homophobia and bullying
Poor kid…. I can’t even imagine how bad it was for her. I’m so glad she’s spreading the word on anti-bullying and turned this negative experience into something positive
It’s disgusting behaviour, especially when done to a child. I really want to know what went through this persons head to think this was an ok thing to do
I think it's probably racism or something. That's why a lot of actors change their name and things, But I've always found it sad. I mean in the 80s she probably would change her last name to white as a stage name like how Whoopi changed her last name to Goldberg so people would think she was jewish rather than black.
The fact that I thought it was real for a while… it was everywhere on twt and tiktok and once you’re out of the loop you’ll start believing things like these.
It's worse because you know these are the same people who would harass someone for having an old problematic tweet. I think some of these people unironically wish they could be openly bigoted, but they know that's not acceptable, so they do it in this ''ironic'' way.
I think these memes would have been funny if they hadn't targeted a 13-year-old girl in the process. The fact that Millie has deleted her TikTok and Twitter accounts as well as handed over her Instagram to her managers due to the cyberbullying is really sad. Nobody, especially not a teenager who literally has done nothing to provoke the bullying, deserves that.
"Although gatekeeping who gets to and who doesn't get to bully a 13 year old is not a hill I would personally die on" is the best thing I've heard in my life 😭😭
I wonder if people are using this meme to project their own real "taboo" thoughts, but by hiding behind a 13y.o. girl's pic, they can pretend it's "dark humor". A lot of social media "dark humor" tends to be actual opinions of people, but presented in a way to avoid personal responsibility/repercussions. Usually, real dark humor is actual jokes, but simply based around darker material like death or personal trauma, it's not supposed to be a vehicle to freely attack/defame/dehumanize other people, or whatever this is...
There’s a few other celebrities who are subject to these kinds of trolls. Such as Shawn Mendes for being a closeted gay man and Raini Rodriguez for having a fued with beyonce. What’s worse is that they try to justify their actions. For example, when asked to stop calling Shawn gay, they rebutted that theres nothing wrong with being gay so Shawn shouldn’t feel offended by it. However, don’t they realise that they are being bigoted by not accepting the sexual orientation that Shawn has stated himself. That’s like telling a trans person they aren’t the gender they associate with because they don’t fit the stereotype…
I feel so bad for Millie, going through that at literally 13. No one deserves to have horrible lies made up about them. She's like my literal idol and it hurts that people can be so cruel for no reason at all.
I thought this was about the carrots thing, which I thought was adorable and not worth mocking. I didn’t know about this saga at all. Anyway, great video and I’ve subscribed.
It's so sad how celebrities are objectified to the point where cyberbullying has become so normalized that we're supposed to laugh at a "meme" fully disregarding the person's comfort. It's funny to them sure but what about the person in question? Heck she was still a child at this age, i.e. psychologically vulnerable. This, along with the Raini Rodrigues video you made, really shows how unapologetic people have become. I mean, the fact that they can't face any consequences for their actions cuz they can just deactivate or delete their accounts after bullying is just baffingly sad.
How do people have time to do this? I always thought being rich and famous would be so cool, but it seems like a curse in this internet age. She didn't do anything to deserve this shit. And all these adult losers just get away with child bullying.
the jokes were never funny and just weird. it’s so sad because now she doesn’t even own any of her social media accounts and actually developed anxiety from them.
Maybe she did you never know. I can't understand why people go so far out of the way to defend the character of celebrities they don't even know personally.

Nothing wrong with finding the original tweets and some of the memes funny, the problem is with those who find the harassment part funny. I think those tweets are funny af because of the absurdity, those were harmless.
The only questions I have are: Why would people try to make such a disgusting meme about someone? What if someone did it to them? Would they love the hate they get like Millie did? I hope everyone involved gets their Karma. Edit: Spelling Mistakes
