The fact that Tyson could keep his foot on the gas for 10 rounds and not slow down is insane. Hitting with that much power and maintaining the agility he did, the greatest heavyweight of all time.
@@tbl5138 tyson in his absolute prime would have destroyed both holyfield and lewis. those women, prison, losses and stupid life choices killed the heavyweight mike tyson. i guess we will never know what could have been, but mike was at his weakest when he fought lewis and holyfield.
Tyson was the fastest heavyweight ever Definitely not the hardest hitting though When he fought really skilled big heavyweights and the fight wasn’t fixed that weren’t scared of him If he wasn’t on his A game he would lose easily
You've got to respect anyone who can go (almost) 10 rounds with Mike Tyson in his prime. Absolutely insane. It must have been something to see in person!

The fact that Ribalta was able to walk away without brain damage after getting pummeled like that is a testament to his toughness. Tyson was pounding him like he wanted him dead for 10 rounds.
Cuban boxers are known for their toughness. Nobody does better than them in Olympics and AIBA. Its a shame they dont get the opportunity to make money in the pros.
Amen. I'm sure there's permanent damage from that bout. Ribaltas brain feels it now. CTE. Sometimes better for it to end quick vs. get battered like that.
Oh my lord the sound of those THUDDING punches are just unreal! The endurance to fight like that for 10 rounds..i see so many boxers today struggling with not even 10% of what mike did back then..the output, the cardio, the movement, the freakish power. I just love to watch tysons 80s fights man! 🔥🔥🔥
Pure steroids you mean. You can't be that heavy while being that small AND that muscular at the same time. Rule of thumb: if you exceed your height in cm -100 by more than 5kg, but still don't look fat, you're 99% on steroids! So for Tyson, anything beyond 83kg would be suspicious. He was even beyond a 100 and looked pretty lean nonetheless! He was 100% on steroids!
Every man over 6 ft is scared to death of the concept of losing to men smaller than they They joke as if it's impossible. And yet here we have mike.. fedor.. manny.. gordon.. on and on and on
@@sassukiIt's sad you live in a world that you create to not hurt your ego 😂 Loser's mentality tbh. At least you can find comfort in being normal, normally stupid that is.
@John Dough Snoring anything before the fight not gonna help you to have energy on the 10th round... you can snore something to burn the energy faster but that gonna also make you look even more tired after 9 rounds... That was all about the hard work that Tyson did before the fight in the gym.
99.9% of people would have been dead by the end of this fight. Ribalta’s toughness is incredible. He gritted his teeth and ate some of the strongest punches that pro boxing has ever seen. And the best part is that he was never knocked out. He was knocked on his ass multiple times, but he refused to lose consciousness. Insane physical and mental fortitude.
At 6:20 Mikes opening combination is just a complete destruction. How that man was still standing after this attack is incredible. Any normal man would be dead.
He’s so compact man, not the biggest boxing fan but Mike fighting style has always fascinated me. The power and burst with each punch. They land like flying meteors.
@@Soundcore-cd7uzFunny thing is, Tyson mentioned himself that before a fight he would sit in his room and tell himself over and over that he would kill his opponent! This was in order to fuel himself and channel his anger.
Fully motivated 20yr old Tyson was invincible. Not only was Mike an offensive machine but his defense was just as good. Shout-out to Ribalta for enduring one of the harshest beatdowns I have ever witnessed. It's a pleasure binge watching Mike Tyson's legendary fights through 'BLTV Classic'
Yes he was considering that the heavyweight division was full of cupcakes. His record is full of bums and guys past their prime. Yet when he fights legit fighters he lost. Had he continued to fight the way Cus taught him it might have been different. From his loss to Buster which he got out boxed he was a head hunter and nothing more. I know buster was counted out…but boxing is crooked and they didn’t call it so it’s a mute point.
After Tyson came back from Jail.. None of it is Prime Tyson. He changed his fighting style completely. You look at it like Tyson couldn't beat legit Legends... I look at it like Legit Legends never fought 1980s Tyson.
@@papag5433 Tyson only started to loose after he passed his prime. He was never the same when he became older. It also seems like the problems in his marriage with Robin Givens was affecting his mentality. After he came out of jail he was never the same again.

I can't believe this guy didn't get more credit for being the only living punching bag for Mike Tyson. The sound of those hits were insane. Mike's sparring partners didn't want to spar with him but this guy took 10 rounds of Tysons strongest. Unreal.
This post fight interview proves how professional and classy Mike Tyson was in the early stages of his career. Don King and the boxing industry broke him; that's when all the crazy talk and ear biting comes from. If Gus could have lived throughout Tyson's career, we'd be talking about Mike like Ali pt II; people want Mike to sound silly, but he's been a wise man.
The heat on the shots at 4:50 and 6:20 is truly why boxing died. No one could top this level of intensity. He literally fought like he was gonna get executed if he lost every time out. Nobody does that now.
Tyson was INSANE!! The most aggressive, vicious figher ever, and it's not even close. He was a human pitbull. But you gotta give Ribalta props for lasting so many rounds.
Actually he once said that himself. He was interviewed once where he basically was saying he is the the most Ruthless vicious aggressive etc etc fighter in history.
There's a certain moment in Mike's matches where his opponents realize they've entered the ring with Death. You can see it in Ribalta's eyes early on. But the man just kept getting back up over and over again. Can't give enough props to the man with that much physical and mental toughness.
How the hell did he tank 10 rounds of those shots Ribalta has an incredible pain tolerance and more surprisingly how can the post interview remark be so dumb? The round 10 shots looked as deadly as any other punches he threw. Tyson was so deadly man...
@@adofonconi9753 it's not my own experience, just what someone said who fought these guys. Can't seem to remember who, but I'll get back to you when I do. Point is, he says he thought he's dying. Whole portions of his body going numb and only registering the punches coming after the first few by the sound of the jackhammer thudd when they connected.
It really demonstrates Tyson's freakish level of fitness that throughout the fight he was relentlessly throwing power punches. A single 3 minute round of punching mitts in boxing classes can stuff lots of people and those aren't punches that could knock out a heavyweight. Big punching, time after time after time, for 10 rounds is unbelievably grueling, but Tyson didn't even look puffed. What an incredible athlete.
It stuffs most people. Even moving around for three minutes while keeping one's arms up the entire time and not throwing a single punch, but just making a conscious effort to keep the arms up and moving them from side to side and moving one's head in different directions at the same time is taxing when one hasn't practiced it frequently. Boxers are great endurance athletes.
100%. When I go to the gym I hit the bag because it's exhausting and excellent cardio. Five minutes against just a bag -- which isn't hitting back -- is more grueling than a half hour on a treadmill. Tyson was a complete machine.
My Dad was way more into boxing/mixed martial arts than I ever was, but I will say I've never seen anyone do what Tyson has done. If he's not the best, he's right there at the top.

Mad respect for Ribalta here. He did what very few humans on earth could do, go 10 ten rounds with Tyson in his prime. the strength and resiliency it took to do this is off the charts.
having never seen this fight before, seeing ribalta get absolutely fucking decimated with knockout punches and still keep getting up is insane. the dude is a tank, major props
The fact that Tyson kept up the ferocity in the closing rounds is astounding. With the speed, power and aggression displayed from the get-go, you'd imagine he'd be drained after 3 rounds, but he keeps on going. An absolute monster of a fighter.
@@willhooke yeah it's insane. Did a bit of sparring in the military, and was surprised by just how tiring it was. Normally we'd all be pretty drained after 4 or 5 two minute rounds. It's excellent cardio to say thr least.
Mike Tyson used a new boxing training system, wich included working and focusing more on speed and endurance, that´s why he is fresh on round 10 and moves like Bruce Lee. Even Tyson had a special neck training to prevent knock out... Check his Neck size and compared it with his oponents... Tyson was ahead at its time, thats why is called the best boxer of all history. 😁
How does one not simply pass away after getting hit like Ribalta did at 04:37, that uppercut/bodyshot combo has to be one of the most devestating I have ever seen.

It’s crazy how different prime Mike looked than the current great heavyweights. Mike’s hand speed relentlessness accuracy power stamina all look next level.
To be punching that hard with that pace in the 10th round is incredible. Especially after absorbing a lot of blows from a giant like Ribalta. Compare that to the way that late career Tyson faded after the first 3-4 rounds, it's the difference between a dangerous fighter and an all-time great.
@@noahcarver6072 Well the thing is, imagine being a major part of Tyson's highlight reel, and most importantly the pinnacle of his own career is losing to the biggest name in the heavy weight division as "the guy that could do the impossible".

It's amazing watching reels from fights from a time I wasn't even alive in. Had me standing out of my seat, I couldn't believe my eyes. The power, speed, stamina and concentration was like something out of legend. Watching Tyson fight in his prime motivates me like nothing else, impeccable.
I feel you...in my opinion this version of Tyson was the best heavyweight of all time. The power, stamina, combos, speed etc its just unmatched until this day.
A lot of people remember Tyson in his prime for aggression and early knockdowns. But he was a far far more skilful boxer than he’s usually given credit for. He got the early knockdowns because he usually chose the right punch/combination. Had fantastic instincts and knew when to go for the kill. As fast as he was powerful too.
@@jaybee4288 well jheeeze are you a professional critic? You really thought outside the box on this one. 🙄. No one knew Mike had skill before you just said it tbh

Right. That's why I stay true to my belief that Mike was the very best the sport has seen. He took his disadvantages and made them into assets in the ring. As far as entertainment value, he took that one too. Nobody is more fun to watch IMO,
That is one insane dude just eating shots like nothing. A couple of those were KO's on a lot of boxers. Mike was just unstoppable. He didn't start sweating until the post fight interview.

Holy crap... i have never seen such a brutal display of Tysons power and endurance, i truly was bewildered with how 8 rounds in he can throw such thunderous right hooks and combos so fast and powerful. What you said about how the first upcut would knock out 99.99% of the human race was chilling and that wasnt anything special for tyson. GOAT.
You can't say in on advertised RU-vid video channels anymore, but BLTV alluded to death, the uppercut would kill 99.99% of the population through brain hemorrhage or a broken neck, not knock them out.
That uppercut would break an average person's neck. This is one of Tyson's best fights to showcase just how great a boxer he was. His skills are still underrated by a lot of people.

The Ribalta fight, for me, is Tyson's most-underappreciated and one of my favorites. It showcases all of Tyson's strengths: combos, slipping, countering. If you want the best fight to watch to analyze Tyson in-depth, I think Ribalta is top 3.
It's always funny when poeple say Tyson Fury would stand a chance against Mike, Iron mike in this match was a destroyer of men, his ferociousness was unrivalled and nobody has come close to this man ever since.
Ribalta has some chin that's for sure! I think even Tyson said he was shocked at how he just kept getting back up. One of my favourite fights that's for sure!
Ribalta ate hits that would had sent mortal men to their grave. Respect to him and his name. Respect to Tyson to fighting our of his weight, height, and reach. His aggressive forward movement and short range bursts really got out to the test here.

Wow. I've seen Tyson's fights before, but when he got frustrated that his opponent was so tough, he really put on an impressive display. There's nothing you can do against a man like that, no matter what size you are. Delivering some of the world's most powerful blows and being able to do it all match.
I don't think I've ever seen anyone take that many power punches and live, especially from Tyson. got to give Ribalta credit, he definitely has heart and a good chin, but props to Tyson for remaining professional post fight.

Agreed. Somebody help me out... I see the mouthpiece get knocked out at 6:24... what was that getting knocked out of his mouth at 6:35? Looks like a bottom denture or something...
Mad respect to Ribalta for jumping up after that massive uppercut that would have ended most opponents. The fact he made it through so many rounds with Mike in his prime is a testament in itself. Even Tyson gave him the respect he deserved after the match.
Never seen this fight before. The amount of punishment absorbed by Ribalta and he still came back for more is just staggering. Holy crap! Just one of those punches would have sent me to an alternative universe.

Damn, Mike was an absolute monster in his prime. That uppercut in round 2 was nasty! Good fight from ribalta, that man took those shots for 10 straight rounds. Much respect.
BIG TIME!...Tyson crumbled many a man with lesser shots...Never saw this fight but, it's one of Tyson's best and Ribalta is a BEAST for taking those bombs...
For any heavyweight with talent and potential (like Ribalta) who hit their prime between 1986-90, it was just bad luck. In Tyson’s era, everyone else was an afterthought
Tyson is a great fighter. Just watching his older matches is amazing. This poor fellow is so outmatched by Tyson, that Tyson dissects him in the ring. Slow merciless destruction.
What gets me is the sound of a whiffed punch, that I'd argue is actually really telling not to mention terrifying. At 5:03 it sounds like a speeding car, every impact of a landed punch is the crash, but with the whiff you get such a sense of how insane his momentum is.
Ya, and it's a funny thing about every generations heroes... My dad is a huge Ali fan (aren't we all), but I mentioned that prime Tyson would have destroyed Ali, but he just can't hear it. He said that Tyson wouldn't be able to hit Ali. Ya right. Ali would be out in round 1. No question. It's just a different game. In Ali's day, it definitely was a sport... Tyson took it to a different level of wanting to completely fuck you up, pardon my french.
Two observations from a boxing novice: 1. Tyson has some sort of ESP that allowed him to dodge on an inhuman level. It's hard to tell Ribalta's power when he doesn't land any solid shots. 2. The amount of abuse Ribalta took is absolutely insane! The liver punches, the uppercuts that would break the average man's neck, total carnage. And he stayed standing. Just incredible endurance there.
Yea most people don’t understand how fragile we are, mike Tyson could easily and I mean easily could kill you with one solid punch. And these guys just are suppose to live like it never happened 😂
Not to take anything from Tysons left hand but I don't think he was attacking the liver as much as trying to open up the face. However that right hand to the body... Ouuuuch
If Tyson in his prime had trouble knocking out Ribalta (although it was a TKO) and despite the fact that he hit him with all his power, combinations, and gave it his all in that fight (said by himself) and still Ribalta kept getting up and giving battle, imagine Mike facing Muhammad Ali. Ribalta is not even 20% of what Ali was, and Tyson himself said that he was his toughest opponent. I love Tyson, but if in his prime he couldn't knock out boxers like Tony tucker, James smith, James tillis or Mitch green, there was little he could have done against a boxer as intelligent as Ali and who faced rivals like Liston x2, Frazier and Norton x3, Foreman, Ron Lyle, Shavers, Jerry Quarry etc.
It wasn't ESP. It was training. Tyson went through lengthy sessions in the gym where he did nothing but defensive moves. It looks magical because he was so good. Ali was also great at dodging punches when he was young. As he got older he wasn't so good and started clenching his opponents. You saw what happened with Tyson when he got older and slower. He resorted to dirty tricks.

Absolute ferocity from Tyson. Moreorless Prime here. Got to give Ribalta huge credit. I genuinely don’t know how he got up after the hook / uppercut combo and those body shots…..! A very brave guy and tremendously resilient. I also loved the way Tyson would handle himself in after match interviews and just in general, in those prime years. Before he became this raging confrontational beast that had become angry and embittered by his treatment at the hands of Don King, Robin Givens and all the others, he was a courteous and respectful professional. Hugely knowledgeable and with a very humble outlook. Much like he became in later life as an older man. What an amazing life he’s had.
Why is nobody talking about this even in slow motion that's fast like wtf imagine a regular dude taking that. Your just gone faded away Like seriously that is a superhuman feat right there. with the amount of mass his muscles would have to contract under.
I never seen him throw combos like this his sppedvwas insane.Mike seeed to hold back against other fighters but as this guy kept getting up mike knew he needed to stop playing.he dominated the entire fight but the guy was made of steel.i never seen mike ever use combinations like that with such speed.every connection made the entire ring shake.
Sonny Liston would smash him. And this is something even Mike Tyson would admit. Also a prime Lennox Lewis could beat 8 out of 10 times a prime Mike Tyson. Evander Holyfield could also beat Tyson, both in their primes. And of course Vitali Klitschko with his granite chin. I don't even mention prime Muhammad Ali who would make Tyson look slow.
I think it's just as likely that this is phony, and that man was paid to get beat up. I mean come on, that beast could practically have put one hand on Mike's forehead, and use the other to toy with him. Phony.
For the life of me, I will never understand how anyone walked away from a punch by Tyson. Boxer or not. His punches always looked murderous. I hurt just watching. I’m shocked he even had losses on his record. So quick and violent.
The average person would get knocked out and have brain damage but I doubt they’d die from a single punch from him unless they hit their head on the way down, I do think it could be possible tho Idk
Watching Mike Tyson in his Prime swinging and hitting someone who doesn't just get sent immediately to the Shadow Realm is impressive. Though you can start to see the fear in that man's eyes when he realizes just how fast and accurate Tyson is. This is the scariest and most fearsome boxer on the planet during this time. Tyson is still my favorite, getting to see him live on TV when I was a child was such an amazing experience. The part that makes Tyson so terrifying is he is still hitting just as fast and hard in the late rounds as he was in the first round, with deadly accuracy. Those punches are so fast you barely have time to react too. I really respect Tyson too for what he says at the end of the fight at 7:30. You can tell he has respect for the man for going the distance with him and taking such insane punches. When he finally knocks the guy out in the 10th round the look on his face is just like "finally, jesus"
Match of the century would have been Tyson and Ali. I would have bet on Ali but who knows. Maybe someday someone will program a computer to show who would win that fight.
The right to Ribaltas body made his mouth open!! Ooof! Then Mike does it again plus an uppercut...like chopping wood! Tough man, Ribalta, to take half an hr of that punishment ffs!
@@wheelerzg76 Tyson was fast, accurate, and powerful and made himself difficult to hit. Ali was extremely fast, great reflexes, and stayed out of reach.
