To steal a line from Tumblr. The thing that’s funny and relatable about Luigi isn’t that he’s a coward, it’s that he’s a coward with no sense of scale. He reacts to literally everything with exactly the same level of oh-gee-I-dunno apprehension, whether it’s hearing a noise in a dark house at night, or coming face to face with a world-devouring horror. This is more or less the root of his self-esteem problems; he’s the universe’s second-greatest warrior and doesn’t realise it because as far as he’s concerned, being scared of a spider in the bathroom and being scared of Cthulhu are the same thing -- he just totally lacks the necessary context to appreciate that managing to grit your teeth and deal with the second one is any sort of achievement. It’s all spiders in the bathroom to him. He’s equally terrified of everything, and that makes him invincible.
@@aquamarinerose5405 There's actually a canonical reason behind Luigi's fear and Mario's courage, and it starts in the original Yoshi's Island game. When the Star Children are captured, Luigi is stolen away, but Mario is dropped. Luigi experienced a traumatic experience in his childhood where he was completely helpless and scared, and unable to do anything but cry. Mario experinced a similar trauma, but instead he, along with the help of the Yoshi's, was able to learn how to defeat evil and do something about his trauma. Poor Luigi literally is just experiencing PTSD, and Mario, the brother that saved him when everything seemed dark, is the only person who can truly unlock his confidence. That's also why when he's powering up in the dream world, you can hear the Dreamy copies calling Mario's name, and telling Luigi that "Bro's in trouble!" So that he becomes strong enough to protect his best friend and older twin.
People tend to forget that in Super Paper Mario Luigi was the Prophecized Anti-Christ, The Destined Vessel for the Power of the Chaos Heart. Hell even in Mario and Luigi continuity, he's the Disciple of the Thunder God. Nintendo needed to give him a Phobia of everything to Nerf him
4:05 I just noticed Luigi not only knocks away the mecha boss with a power of a skyscraper-sized mantis shrimp punch, but also FELLS AN ENTIRE MOUNTAIN WITH HIS ENEMY'S FALLING BODY Honestly Luigi is a beast when it comes to protecting his big bro
The thing about Luigi, he's scared of everything. But he's scared of everything equally. Spider in his room or cosmic god, it's all the same to Luigi. And yeah he's scared, but he's also incredibly brave. He won't like squashing the spider, but when it comes down to it, he'll kill god as soon as an ant. Bravo Luigi.
Also I love how significantly braver he becomes when Mario is around, the way he looks lost and confused when he's searching for Mario after turning giant and the way he sighs in relief and instantly takes a fighting stance when he notices him shows so much personality and character
honestly I prefer Partners in time; some people may find it difficult, but I like challenging stuff and the usage of hammers applied to x and y | Bowser's inside story was pretty good too as the Bowser battles are a bit refreshing to see after using Mario and Luigi for so long In short words, I'm just saying that I don't think Dream Team is peak; it drags on boring dialouge sometimes, the enemies are really easy to defeat and I have mixed feelings for the dreams being 2d worlds, but it is still a good Mario and Luigi game.
Neither would vergil, dante, nero, raiden, jetstream sam, monsoon, sundowner, armstrong, azura, doomslayer, kratos or excelsus.they would all be destroyed by a correctly timed bounce bros
I see a lot of people use clips like this as evidence of Luigi’s incredible feats and powers, which I think is not a good example. Not to discount Luigi’s efforts here, but, this is a dream. It’s a fantastical dream world where real people like Mario can enter and where there are strange rules and layers, but a dream nonetheless. Luigi becoming a giant and absolutely wrecking enemies like this is limited to the fact that he’s dreaming, so he can do whatever he wants. Sure, how “real” the dream world is, is up to interpretation, but dreamy Luigi is doing all the work here, not real Luigi. That being said, he is the ideal host of the chaos heart, and also the chosen disciple of the thunder god, and can body slam a ghost with a vacuum, so that’s cool
Thing is, paper jam actually shows giant dreamy luigi's skillset DOES transfer to the real world, if supplied with a mega mushroom. He just never gets to fight a giant enemy with that mega mushroom. Plus there are multiple ways to grow giant, as bowser has demonstrated.
Its worth keeping in mind the entities he fights are also their dream-firms of themselves, so it is a fair 1v1. Also, though we all agree its not canon, Paper Jam has an item that lets Luigi just...become his dream giant form. So thats on the table.
Luckily, he and Mario eventually go on to (in the real world) face off against Dreamy Bowser. Not Bowser from the Dream world or anything, but Bowser with the Dream Stone, using its wish granting powers to become unbeatable. … and the bros still beat him.
One thing that i love about these battles is Luigi's development. Its a blink and you miss it kind of thing,But when you go up against Bowser. Luigi isn't in his usual scared animation. Instead he's smirking,Holding his hat down,Ready to absolutely DOG Bowser. It shows that he grows a bit from a scaredy cat,To someone willing to stand up to people much stronger than him. Even when forced to face a GOD LIKE version of Bowser,He still stands his ground with Mario,Even without his dreamy powers. Its one of the few reasons i love Luigi so much ^_^
Dream Team is the greatest game in the series in terms of soundtrack, hands down. Even if it isnt the most innovational, th beats make up for it tenfold.
Battle with a giant Bowser: *Luigi:* **Becomes big** *Bowser:* You're still just a fearful green stache. You're still weak and can't do nothing without your brother! *Luigi:* The size doesn't make you stronger either. And your army won't stop us! *Bowser:* You dare to talk to me like that!? I'LL TEACH YOU MANNERS!!! Your final lesson is ahead!
A robot? A volcano? A build-formers? A god-bird!? His nemesis in HIS dreams!? Nah, nothing is going to be strong enough to stop the love between the brothers, determined to kick their colossal asses until they emerge victorious ✊🌠
"When Undefeatable kicks in" * Proceeds to show gameplay of a Mario game for kids where it constantly interrupts moments to ask if you want help to not lose such an easy thing... TWICE EVERYTIME *
@@mixtheyeast No but it means the song doesn't fit the video, at least edit those parts out so we don't lose the pace that the song is supposed to give
Some people power up out of determination. Fury. Hate. Righteous wrath. Luigi doesn’t. He powers up… Because his brother needs help. Luigi powers up… out of love.
When Mario faces a threat, he doesn't have much fear. When Luigi faces a threat like this, he's scared shitless. Bit that what makes Luigi so much more impressive. Luigi is actively facing his fears when shit goes down. And that's why I adore Luigi.
"When undefeata- Aim your zapper gun You can not beat us Even with your robot partner? Discover new worlds You can not beat us Score 1B You can not beat us We are Nintendo You cannot beat us.
