When Undefeated Fighters Get Destroyed | Part 2
Boxing is one of the world's foremost sports that can make or break the most rugged athletes in the world. And it is probably the most unpredictable of all where a single exquisitely timed punch or a catastrophic error can decide a fight. Here we look back at some of boxing’s most shocking moments where the undefeated fighters got destroyed by their counterparts.

7:14 it looks like foreman just hit him with a regular jab but so much power came behind that shot - imagine being a hit by those full rotation hooks of his from the 70s. Oofah

That's what happens to many young, too successful early in their career fighters. They've never faced 1st hand adversity in the ring. Judah was undefeated, successful and considered an upcoming great(at the time). He hadn't been tested and was a bit too cocky for his own good. After he got decked by a power puncher, Zab's instinct was to rise up as quickly as possible, but since he had never had his bell rung in such a manner, he didn't know his reactions too well. A seasoned pro, who's had his bell rung, learns(the hard way) to navigate through such instances. Unfortunately, pro fighters aren't taught to deal with adversity of such a nature while training (management teams don't want to risk getting their prospect beaten to Palooka status while there's still remaining mileage on the tires, so to speak), so until the up and coming fighter gets their bell rung, most of the time it's a mystery on how the fighter reacts to it for the 1st time. Ain't boxing great?

Man oh man I felt bad for Tommy Morrison in that Mercer fight. He was out before the last6 or 7 punches. I couldn't figure out why the ref let the rest of those punches go. Morrison took quite a few punches, he shouldn't have had to.

Zab didn't respect Kostya before the fight, saying the loser should have to quit boxing and get a job elsewhere. Tszyu ignored the insult and smiled, and then he blew him away. LOL.

Someone always has to be the best though, but what is deemed as the best could possibly be outdone by someone who isn't as good but their style is just not good for you (talking about boxing only). You can have a situation where fighter A can beat B and C but loses to fighter D, Fighter D loses to B and C but beats fighter A.

When will the commissions realize that referees must be strong enough to stop the action? Tommy Morrison got blasted because the ref didn’t have the strength to stop Ray Mercer. It was at least one or two extra punches. For a mere mortal, getting hit with those extra shots would be life changing.

Doesn't matter Maywheather was the boxing elite club's built-up fighter, and he couldn't lose a fight even if he was knocked out. When any fight he fought went to a decision he of course won even if he hadn't. It's all about build up and outside money. Take note that most of his fights against real fighters went to decision. I can't stand when the boxing world is crooked. Take any fight that Don King was involved in. Talk about crooked and he existed forever fixing fights and stealing the fighter's money.

@crx122
@crx122 Год назад
Paul Jackson, It was quite simple. Ray Mercer had a GRANITE CHIN all the way up until he got to be super old, in his prime he had one of the best chins in the business. Morrison had a below average chin, hence why he got knocked down so many times and knocked out multiple times. Morrison was a great starter and excellent at dealing out punishment, but had a horrible gas tank and couldn't take much punishment himself. Ray Mercer would have beat him any day of the week, because he could handle Morrisons power and had much better cardio. Once Morrison got past the first few rounds and his terrible stamina kicked in, it was only a matter of time.

@@crx122 I don't know about Morrison having a below average, or weak chin. I agree on Mercers though. Granite jaw, for sure. Morrison makes you wonder how he survived against Foreman and KOd Ruddock. @@bradleybabeaux5429 I fully agree that price was an overhyped bum with a glass chin but facts are facts thompson beat price twice in 1 year and tested positive so thompson was on steroids for both fights. And then price was knocked out by Erken Teper who also tested positive and that fight was ruled a no contest as a result of the positive test. So my point is that even tho price was nothing but a journeyman with a glass chin he was still robbed at least 3 times by drug cheats.
